Tyler's Hockey Cake
Pride goeth before a fall! I was pretty happy with this cake up until I stuck the gumpaste barriers down in. They displaced some of the BC, causing the rink surface to look squishy beyond repair. Anyway, my friend's little boy loved it! Scratch chocolate cake with strawberry filling and buttercream.

Becky & Me
This is a vegan vanilla cake w/vegan BC, made for my daughter's friend. I made the cake and covered it with modeling chocolate (1st time ever, so don't look at the corners!), made and placed the sugar gems, and did the piping. Then, my daughter painted on the zebra stripes. She did a terrific job!

Yellow With Lace
This is somewhat patterned after the cakelava cake from Cake Central's September magazine. The disaster happened when I realized that the more I piped, the more translucent my white frosting got. I think it was caused by my hands warming the piping bag. I tried to blend the stark white part around the satin-stitched letters in with the rest of the cake by making it look like a name banner draped across the cake. Obviously, that just made it worse! Thank Heavens, my friend loved it and, hey, she can't complain about a free cake anyway! Scratch Fresh Lemon Cake with buttercream.

Prc's 35Th Anniversary
Made for the 35th anniversary of the People's Resource Center. They had a big open house. I was so embarrassed to take this cake, seeing its many flaws. But, they LOVED the way it looked and tasted. I was very flattered that someone even asked for my "card" -- I'm just a hobby baker. Top tier was scratch white cake, the bottom scratch Devil's food. Buttercream with gumpaste numbers.
