Dragonfly Cake
I'm so ashamed of this cake. I was actually thrilled with the border and that I'd been able to free-hand a dragonfly. I was happy with my first attempt at gelatin bubbles, too. Who'd have thought that I'd SOOOO botch the writing? I tried to distract the eye from it by adding a few silver wisps, which just made it worse. It's for a wedding shower my friend's hosting tomorrow, and I'm embarrassed to even give it to her. :(

Lay Speaker Graduation
For the closing ceremony of Lay Speaker Academy for the United Methodist churches in my area. After it gave me many problems along the way, I was finally pleased with how this cake looked. Then, when I picked it up to put it in the box, it developed small cracks all over the top frosting. I had put it on 3/4" foam core board to prevent just that. That'll teach me to buy my foam core at the Dollar Store. :( I'm so embarrassed to take this with me tomorrow to Lay Academy.

Jack's 7Th Birthday
Made for a little church friend who's turning 7, patterned after several cakes I saw on the web. Can you tell that I actually dropped the ball cake sideways onto the base cake, ruining parts of the net, ball and grass? Thank Heaven, I was able to salvage it instead of having to start over!!!
