Display Wedding Cake
I've been working on this display cake for my cake studio since I needed more buttercream examples, and have been wanting to do a tall tiered hydrangea cake (I love these flowers). I had a really hard time smoothing the royal icing onto the styrofoam....any advice on doing better for next display cake iced in royal would be received graciously!!

Engagement Cake
This cake was for an engagement party for friends. The flower spray was my first attempt at gumpaste. The ring box is fondant except for the ring which I sculpted and dried out of gumpaste and silver dragees. The lettering is gold luster dust stencil. The cake was a 4 layer vanilla with white chocolate ganache and real strawberry preserves.

Ballerina Cake
My neighbor wanted a ballerina cake for her granddaughter. I found these cute little figurines at the dollar store and used them as inspiration for the color scheme. The fondant is homemade, with a simple marble/chocolate buttercream filling. This is the time I'll be getting paid for doing a cake! YAY!!

My Wedding Cake
This is the first big wedding cake I've done, and ironically, it was for my own wedding. (I don't work over the summer.....that is how I found time to do it). My wedding theme was daisies and color scheme was a pale yellow with pale blue. I have alot to learn still about cake design and construction, but the guests enjoyed eating it, so mission accomplished!

Sugared Italian Peach Cakes
These mini peach cakes taste just as great as they look, are assembled using a shortbread cake, filled with french buttercream and almonds for the "pit" inside, sealed with dark chocolate, dipped in peach schnapps, and rolled in peach gelatine sugar crystals which give a peach color and flavor, and adorned with a leaf. I made them for my wedding last week, and people were raving. If you want the recipe, leave me your email address, and I will get it to you as soon as I am back from my honeymoon next week!
