Rust Orchids
This one was a challenge....first of all, the humidity here in Ohio killed my fondant. Then, the bride wanted fall-colored gumpaste orchids. In the catalogue, they were orange, and she said it would be fine. In person, they were neon orange and yellow. When we got to the hall, I realized that the brides decor was all rust and golds...the flowers clashed. So my husband ran home, grabbed the gold luster dust and burgundy food coloring, and we painted them last minute before sticking them on the cake

Musical Cake
My husband and I collaborated on an idea for this cake for a musician. Hand-sculpted bas relief harps with gold luster, gold rope trim, piano keys are sculpted and airbrushed black along with the record. Red fondant drape and red roses (hid a huge boo-boo, and ended up a happy mistake). Fondant cut-outs of notes/guitar, etc.

Greek Baptism Cake
I feel really proud of this one...after my very unhappy buttercream experience this weekend, I was thrilled to put a fondant cake together. The rosary has piped Greek crosses, and the topper is a hand-painted with a Greek cross, and hand-sculpted roses. I just love girlie cakes, and I love that the mom picked lavender.

Buttercream Cake
I am trying to get better at the buttercream, but I find it more impossible to work with than fondant! This one was a source of stress....it started bulging at the seams in transit, and I had to fix it the best I could at the reception site. I was hoping all the gumpaste flowers would distract the eye. I'd love some tips on buttercream icing!

Cake For Over 400 People
This was the biggest cake I've ever done for a wedding. It is a fondant cake with quilted pattern and pearls, lustered with pearl dust. When I got to the hall, it was still under construction, so we had to walk through mud to get the cakes inside. And then, they had forgotten to order flowers to fill in between!! (the cake was designed for flowers). However, they had a ton of silk flowers laying around that they weren't using, so I just took them and used to fill in the tiers.

Treasure Chest Cake
My husband and I collaborated on this one; everything is edible. Gold coins, edible pearls and dragees, chocolate shells, edible sand, and rock candy. This was in a 3 part cake series for a kid graduating from high school who loves pirate stuff. I'll upload the other cakes as well which have the same theme.
