1 Day's Notice Wedding Cake
I did this cake with one day's notice, the same day I found out that I'm pregnant and still with one other cake due and having to work all day at my teaching job. I think that is why I'm disappointed in it. I was pretty tired when I finished. Also, I do not like the arrangement of the roses at the top of the cake, nor the "for better or for worse" lettering, but the bride wanted it that way. Who am I to refuse? Oh well, I hope they liked it!!

Cupcake Cake
This one nearly killed me. I fought with it until 1:30 am. The engineering was tough. It was hard putting a bigger cake on top of a smaller cake, and I nearly butchered it when carving it. Then the cake layers started sliding around when I put the fondant on (I had 3 layers of filling). It was oozing out at the bottom. Because this one was special (for a former student's 1 year old daughter), I just kept praying that it turn out ok...I think it did!

Ribbon Rose Bouquet
This was for a wedding shower....just very traditional and simple, but it was enormous. It WAS 5 inches high and 16 inch square. The bride wanted spring colors, so I did a ribbon rose bouquet. At 2 am, didn't know quite else what to do...I was running shy on ideas. Anyway, she loved the cake...had strawberry white chocolate cream cheese filling...said it was a huge hit.

Grapes And Calla Lilies
This cake was a tough one...had to rebake the layers. My first square wedding cake, and didn't realize that for such large squares I ought to have used a core. Thanks to the people on this site and their advice, the layers bakes beautifully and evenly. Marshmallow fondant, gumpaste callas, and plastic grapes provided by the groom. I would have done without the plastic grapes, but not my choice!

Chubby Baby
My sister wanted me to do this cake for her best friend's baby shower. She found a cake she liked on-line and sent me the pic. I do not know who to credit for this one, but thanks for the inspiration! I actually did it all in fondant, although the original was a buttercream. All the flowers are sculpted fondant, and I hand sculpted the baby and insects too. I have about 15 hours worth of work into this cake, but it was so much fun, minus the stiff neck from looking down!!

Fairy Cake
This one is for a friend of mine...her mom ordered it for her, but I wanted it to be incredible...she loves fairies and angels! Her mom wanted pink tones, so we went pink on the mushrooms and gumpaste flowers, but the cake needed some red lady bugs too. My husband sculpted the fairy from his imagination, and her wings are rice paper. I checked out about 100 fairy cakes before I made this one, so I don't know who to credit, but thanks everyone for the inspiration!

Another Tiffany Box
Well, I've been getting a huge influx of orders for these. I had a bad camera angle on this one; it appears that the sizes of the cakes are disproportionate, but the cake actually really looked nice all together. In fact, when the bride to be saw it, she told me she was going to cancel with her current baker and book with me! Yay!!

Morning Glory Cake Finished
I putting this one in Mother's Day, although it's a birthday cake for my aunt who is turning 85. What mother or grandmother wou ldn't love some morning glories on her cake!! These are piped with royal. I also used royal lace points and royal bows. Everything else is buttercream. I know they aren't as impressive as the fondant cakes, but they are so relaxing and nice to do!!
