Hydrangea Wedding Cake
12" 9" and 6". BC with fondant orange ribbon. Hydrangea were GP. Leaves & vines were BC. What a pain - nothing would come square this weekend! Square cakes normally do not intimidate me, but I was ready to throw in the towel. Bride's colors were navy & burnt orange. Butterflies were gelatin. Based on a cake from Confetti Cakes.

Raccoon Cake
6" on 9". BC. Tree is ice cream cone with RI. Tree trunk is dowel covered with modeling chocolate. Raccoons & man are GP. Dirt is chocolate teddy grahams and chocolate animal crackers. Signs are edible images on GP on dowels. Fun to make. For a man who loves to feed the raccoons around his home.

Flowers & Butterflies
6", 9", 12". BC. Modelling chocolate animals. Butterflies are candy melts. MM ladybugs. Flowers are RI. A lot of fun to make and pretty quick to put together. A friend asked for a cake for her daughter's first birthday with the following requirements: flowers, mostly pastel colors, butterflies, frogs, swamp-like, and "use your best judgement". This is what I came up with. CC members MinjaB & ilena have pics of animals that I used for inspiration

Multi-Sports Cake
7" on 10". Hockey puck is RCT covered in candy clay. Baseball is styrofoam covered in Fondx. 7" is BC with candy clay black lines. 10" is chocolate BC with fondant laces. Popcorn is marshmallows cut & sprayed yellow. Popcorn box is RCT covered in GP with white GP stripes. Numbers are funky tappits. Made for my kids' all-sports party. The baseball took the longest and was pretty hard to cover to my satisfaction - I have no idea how I would have done that if it was cake since I man-handled it to death and re-did it THREE times!

Apple Pie Cupcakes!!
I needed a quick dessert for Thanksgiving. I had made an apple compote to go on pancakes yesterday, so I diced that up very small and used it as the filling. I iced in tan-ish BC & used tip 47 for the lattice and edge. A little sloppy looking, but I was in such a rush! I saw the idea on the web many months ago, but made with cherry pie filing - so thank you to that person for the inspiration.
