Tree Cake
A combo cake from the American Cake Magazine & one of Debbie Brown's designs. For DH & nephew's bd. DH is an avid hunter, but has been so tired lately from studying for the Sergeant's exam we've been teasing him that he can fall asleep anywhere. He chose the tree cake & wasn't looking for the animals, but I wanted to try my hand at modeling (hence all the critters). 2 layer chocolate, 2 layer hazelnut butter, 1 layer sugar free yellow cake, covered in fondant, airbrush. Everything else is gum paste. I am really pleased

Camera Birthday Cake
2 layer 12" round, covered in BC, with edible photos around the sides. Camera was 50/50 gumpaste & fondant over a RCT rectangle. Film & negative strips around photos is fondant. Everything is dusted with luster dust. Pretty time consuming to do! My new photo printer worked great, but the frosting sheets would NOT release (even using all the tricks) - eventually it all worked out. Oh, I fixed the bumby BC around the support after I took the pic!

Beach Wedding Cake
For my sister! 14", 10" and 6". Boy oh boy - did I learn a lot from this one!! I cut my column supports all wrong at first. All BC. Crushed Lorna Dunes mixed with gold edible glitter for sand. Coral is poured sugar. Shells are candy melts dusted w/lustre dust. Some Godiva chocolate shells thrown in for good measure!! In the end I was pleased, but late friday night I thought I was going to have a breakdown ;-)

Piano Cake
2 layer 9x13. All BC, except sharp/flat keys are fondant. Sheet music is plain paper on a piece of fondant. Notes are candy melts. I had colored my icing black, but it was not getting dark enough, so I aribrushed it the rest of the way. Kids will have some funky looking tongues fter eating this icing!

Pink & White Castle
2 layer 6" round on a 2 layer 10" square. Towers are paper towels rolls covered in MMF. MMF for door, windows, banner backing & tassels, rocks & flowers. Candy melts to trim towers. BC on cakes & vines. Stone impression mat. Ice cream cones for towers tops covered in RI then dipped into crushed sugar crystals. I've given up on my writing so I did the happy birthday paper in the printer; then stuck it to a pice of fondant & used that instead...looks great!!!! Not as time consuming as the last 2 I made

Just for me ;-) 9" 2-layer amaretto butter cake w/vanilla pudding filling. I actually like it better when I ice icing smooth - I did not do the patterend sides well.. Iced in BC. Whipped icing for the ice cream. Sugar cones trimmed to fit. Real cherries & spinkles. Inspired by a cake by cupcakequeen.

Cooler Cake
Cooler is a 9x13 cut in half & then another 1/2 iced in BC. Bottles are poured sugar from the tutorial from CC. Sand is crushed pecan sandies. Shells are candy melts. There were 5 birthdays (one is mine!). Each one of us got a personalized label with our birth year on it. Mine was "Cindy's Light Lager Since 1968" I glued the label to gold fancy foil then wrapped that around the bottle. Bottle caps were tin foil. Ice was a problem so I scrapped it. Whole cake was a total hit.

Garden Cake
Based on cc member EIGHT's design. 8" 2-layer square. MMF fence and accents. BC grass & vines. Crushed chocolate cookies as the dirt. My sons were freaked out by the worms...refused to eat them! This was fun to make, but the tops of the fence wilted from the humidity here (tried to hold them up with toothpicks).

Shirt & Tie For A Yankees Fan
Made for a yankees fan. 9x13 2-layer. Covered in fondant, fondant details. Edible paper for the Yankees logos & tickets. The collar was very hard for me (would not stand up!). And the knot was hard to make realistic looking (DH was not around to consult). But overall I am pleased.

Spaghetti & Meatballs
I think I liked it better before I put the grated "cheese' on it! 9" round WASC w/bavarian filling. BC spaghetti piped with a #7 tip. I made the mistake of not icing the cake first, but the holes were covered with the meatballs & sauce. Meatballs are chocolate WASC cake scraps mixed with ground hazelnuts & chocolate carmel coffee creamer. Sauce is stawberry preserves and chocolate syrup. Cheese is grated white chocolate. This was a lot of fun to make!
