The golf bag is covered in fondant - the base sheet is all buttercream. Golf balls are molded white chocolate
The 'b'day boy' was nicknamed "Chief" so they asked for an indian or feather headdress. Feathers are wafer paper; picture is frosting sheet pic I found on the internet. The 9x13x2 sheet is iced in buttercream.
Sorry about the poor quality picture :( The 4 tiers are off-set square packages all iced in buttercream w/fondant loopy bows. This pictured cake was published in the British magazine "Wedding Cakes; a design source" some years ago.
Just a 12x8x2 sheet for an engagement announcement party. Roses are air-dried buttercream; other fondant flowers added. The buttercream icing is textured w/a paper towel. Simple zigzag borders. Could be used for birthday, engagement, shower or anniversary.
These buttercreamed sqs are stacked slightly off-set. The top tier has fondant molded lace medallions and bow loops. Each tier had a different design - triple dots; quilting and plain.
For a very small home wedding the request was for cheesecake. They are iced with Frostin Pride. Flowers are gumpaste; b'flies are colorflow.
If I remember right the tiers are 16, 12, 10, 6 all iced in buttercream. The ribbon is fondant painted w/highliter dust mixed w/vodka. Flowers are fresh.
The 10 & 6" tiers are iced in buttercream. Tulips are made from gumpaste using the Wilton instructions from their gp flowers book. This is a design from an older Wilton yearbook. There is a mini 1/2 ball under the top bouquet of tulips. Some of the leaves are gumpaste - other piped in b'cream. Sorry for the poor quality of the pic :(
A single layer heart cake (you can use any size - this is a 12") is covered with buttercream stars - or you could use tip 233. The ears, eyes, mouth, teeth etc are fondant.
How many of us get to make anniversary cakes for 60 years? What a privilege this was. 14x4 and 6x4" tiers covered in buttercream. Flowers are commercially made gumpaste corsages dusted with pink petal dust. Silver foil leaves; Numbers fondant painted w/luster dust mixed w/vodka. Could be used for anniversary, small wedding, engagement, or even a lady's birthday
12x2" heart base and 6x3" heart iced in pink buttercream. Dress is fondant; painted w/luster dust mixed with vodka. Flowers are also fondant. Tip 10 used for borders.
A 10x4" heart is iced in buttercream. Roses are fondant - formed in a mold. Silver leaves are gumpaste painted with luster dust mixed with vodka. Borders are shells from tip 63. Certainly could be used for any 'love' event - shower; engagement; small family wedding; anniversary; Valentine's Day; lady's birthday; - even "will you marry me?" :)
The design/set-up of this cake is based on many cakes I have seen in British "wedding Cakes' magazine. Ivy & long grass are silk; the flowers are gumpaste.
Made for the monthly b'days at the firehouse this 9x13x2 sheet is iced in buttercream. Fireman's cross/helmet is a frosting sheet pic. Flames are a mix of orange & red b'cream icing in same bag piped with tip 70.
At 1st I didn't have an idea of what to do on this order but.....frosting sheet pix to the rescue:) Just a small pic mounted on a piece of fondant so it would stand up (toothpicks behind it) he races along an all too small pool of piping gel water:) Shells are molded chocolates.
This all buttercream cake consists of 14, 10 & 6" tiers. Bride provided the initials topper. Simple and a joy to make :)
A neighbor asked for a cake she could take several hours away for a small wedding as her gift. Based on another similar design I had made we came up this. It's a 9" contour (3" deep?) topped w/a 6x4" round. Iced in b'cream w/fondant lace pieces.
I created this for a competition....come in 3rd:) This is the biggest figure I had made. He is sitting on a 6" round; about 3-4" tall.
Here is a figure I made for someone in OH. She is 2 1/4" wide; 3 1/2" tall and the legs are 1 1/2" long. Created from all fondant. This is the 1st 'people' figure I have made:) It sure was fun.
Another generic design that can be used for a male's birthday when you get no theme or help from the customer. This 12x16x2 sheet is iced in dark teal. All other decos are fondant. Simple, generic, to the point, yet different.
When the customer gives you no theme or ideas, here is something that would be a good choice. This 6"x4" round is all buttercream. I generally use any combination of tan/brown; blue & green for a male's cake. I used a Wilton pattern press for the design around the sides and the message:) Add simple zigzag borders and you're done:)

16, 12, 9, 6" tiers stacked. All piping is Buttercream w/real ribbon wrapped around each tier. Piping is b'cream from tip 2.
Using special cutters, the lace flowers & leaves are wired into a bouquet that is added to a single layer 10" round cake. The leaves are painted w/gold Highliter dust mixed w/vodka. A sheer (real) ribbon is wrapped around the bottom, then a band of fondant is added over that. The 'springs' are wrapped floral wire twisted around a pencil.
Two tiers simply iced smooth. The drape is fondant. The topper is a Wilton pillar w/a cherub attached w/commercially made gp lilies pushed into it.. Non-edible pearl sprays added.
