This is special. The topper looks like a separate piece. Did you use gumpaste? Good job at shaping the bottom tier. ;-D

Yeah it's a custom sugar sculpture I made out of pastillage. I love that stuff!! especially since I'm in South Texas and gumpaste just wouldn't hold up well enough for a structural piece like this. I don't know if it's something I'm doing or if it's the humidity but it doesn't seem to want to "stand up" for me.

Lovely. Reminds me of a Margaret Braun creation. And that is a compliment because I think her work is quite amazing.

It's incredilble!!! I'm in South Texas too.........it has to be the humidity. Lately even when I work with fondant it's been so sticky. I haven't tried pastillage but will definitely try it now. Again---AMAZING CAKE!!! :D
