Garden Theme on Cake Central

This was my first attempt at a wedding cake - done for a good friend....there were over 1400 mini blossoms on mint coloured fondant covered fruit cake.....butterflies done in royal piped icing......design inspiration taken from bridal magazine....

Amazing! Congratulations and well Done. Did you insert each flower into the cake individually on stamens or wire.

to goal4me - rope arches were attached with water - using straight pins to hold in place!!!! When removed, holes disguised with piped royal - really easy!!!!

to Leeann - no - wires used in each and every one of the blossoms, plus a stamen, then bunched togetherlike bouquets - then inserted into fondant....

Ok - this took many, many, many hours - and entire cake assembled at home....Top 'Gazebo" and butterflies placed on site.....made 3 gazebo arches at home using mixing bowl turned over as a 'form', 2 broke when trying to 'glue' to top with royal icing, last one did the trick....so tip: always have lots of 'back-ups' Same with butterflies - made over 40 wings, ended up with 6.....
