My Version Of Peggy Porschen's Valentine Heart Cake on Cake Central

12 inch spice cake iced in buttercream. Flowers are royal icing. I fell in love with this cake when I bought the book. I replaced roses for the daffodils she used.

This is gorgeous! I too want to know how you got the lines so straight - that's my fear with her cakes that are this style! Yours is fabulous!

For me straight lines are easier if the icing is thinned with piping gel and then I am very careful by marking the top, middle and bottom with a toothpick dot against a straight edge ruler.
