Well, I forgot to put the colored foil that covers the board for starters. I wanted a big bow on the top since I wanted to make them look like hat boxes. She didnt want fondant and I couldnt make it look right with buttercream. I wanted to put a bow on the top but it just looked stupid. Now I have to go photograph the wedding Ughhhhhh

I think it's fantastic. I have tried the pattern presses before and my cakes came out a disaster, I was looking at yours and thinking how fantastic they look, and was very suprised to read you didnt like it. It looks great!!!

You might have not planned the textured look to the chocolate frosting, but it looks wonderful! I love it! A bow would have detracted from the simple elegance of the cake.

Wow, its a monster big cake. Really well done though, you are being too hard.... sometimes (often for me), I have an image of the cake in my head and it never works out that way, but oddly others end up liking my disasters, and based on the comments above same for you. Its great

Your cake lookes fine. It is good to keep in mind it is not what WE want the cake to look like it is the CUSTOMER. If we wanted all cakes to look the way we want it would never be a CHALLENGE (smile)

I have found that Chocolate buttercream is really hard to work with, but you did a great job. I would have been happy if it were my wedding cake. I diddo bubblezmom and dky

judging by the number of favorites...you disaster was actually a success! CONGRATS! i wish my disasters were this bad, sorta like i wish i was "fat" now like i thought i was in high school....lol

Wow, it looks gigantic! Personally I think your fondant bow would have finished it off. But hey, you did what the bride wanted. If she's happy you did good!
