WOW this is so interesting.. here I go... (may be more than 3 though..)
I am 33yrs. old hubby is same age. I'm hispanic my name is Christy and hubby's white his name is Jason.. I know a little spanish, he knows alot.. (go figure) We had hell getting his family to accept me, being hispanic. They would not have it. tapedshut.gif Love brings you far!
Met through his sister, married for 16 yrs.
Yes pregnant, married, bought a car, pregnant again, lived with family, pregnant again, bought newer cars, buying home, pregnant again and now living happily ever after!
I am very anal about dust.. I dust twice a week and clean EVERY DAY.. I can find a dirty spot from miles.. I wake up cleaning and go to bed cleaning.. Does it ever end??????????? icon_cry.gif
Jason is a truck driver (disposal company). He's been with the company for about 10 yrs. I am a SAHM. I love baking, scrapbooking, photography ( not professional, kids hate the camera!) and I love to read Nicholas Sparks and V.C. Andrews. I have 5 sisters and 2 brothers. My mom and dad divorced when I was 12. I am a smoker. icon_redface.gif Need to stop, but honestly scared of gaining weight.. Hubby and I have tattoos.. Well I have one on my leg of his name with a rose under it. He has my name on his neck and arm. He also has the kids on him. He has BIG JAY on his forarms.. He'll eat anything I cook. That does not make a good cook, that just keeps him from starving!! icon_biggrin.gif

OK i am jumping in on this one..........

1. All through high school i planned on moving to new york to go to acting school. Was all ready to go when i meet my future hubby and gave it all up. No regrets!!! To go along with this never wanted kids or a hubby now i have both. 3 boys and have been married for almost 3 1/2 years.

2. I love wrestling and so does my hubby and kids. have been to alot of events and met alot of wrestlers. had my pic taken with stone cold.

3. I had my nose smashed wheni was 8 by a soft ball thrown by a 35 year old man at a game my dad was playing in. had to have reconstructive surgery. now i have 2 scars on my nose that apparently only i can see and it drives me nuts.

not so interesting but it will do for now.

[quote="4cakefiends"] Its pretty ironic how my eyes were what attracted my dh to me (they are quite unique...kind of green/blue/grey w/specks of yellow...depending on what I wear they can look really blue or really green, or somewhere inbetween.)

Ive never seen anyone with eyes like mine but you just described them to a T!!! WOW

OK, can I add something?

Forgive me for not going back and quoting everybody directly but it took me forever to get through all this (kept getting interrupted) and I just wanted to respond to a couple of things:

For the ASL - I would love to learn too. I taught my baby baby sign beginning at 3-4 months and she was signing by 7. Since she is now 2 and has language skills she does not use it as often but still does from time to time. It was great.

For the PI - that is one of my many choices for other careers - I also would like to be a bounty hunter, that would be so cool; a writer, have written pages and pages my whole life, but nothing ever materialized; a midwife, had all my children naturally, that means no pain meds, and like I said before, the last one was born at home. My midwife just recently went back in practice and there is a possiblity of being an assistant. If it's suppose to be God will make it work out.

Reading: I read all the time, and I do mean that. There are times that I have 3 or 4 books going at once. I love murder mysteries, natural health books, self help books. Currently reading some stupid mystery book, Natural Cures They Don't Want you to Know About, and The Commitment Chronicles.

Paralegals: That was my last life, went to school have an AS in legal assisting, worked for eight years for the same attorney and was not hired back after maternity leave.

This is fun but also hard to keep up with. You all are so great! So interesting, no wonder ya'll are extremely talented. Maybe some of that talent will rub off?

Ok, here goes.

Married 9 years with 4 children. 2 human (girl-young adult and boy-early teen) and 2 canine (male yorkies-my babies_.

I am unemployed and terribly miss working icon_cry.gif ( currently looking ). Never thought I would feel this way!!! I was so looking forward to my job ending. . Thought I had some fabulous plans after my job ended (which didn't include going back to work-lol) but realised that things don't always work out the way we think they should. That's where God comes in. His plan is always so much better. icon_wink.gif (Oh yeah, miss my mad money. Hubby's a tightwad icon_mad.gif)

Love reading and writing. Sometimes fantasize about being a successful novelist. icon_cool.gif

I'm definitely an introvert. Hubby's the extrovert which balances out quite well. He's also the motor mouth and I'm the listener.

My mother is my best friend and my hubby is a close second. Maybe if he'd give up some more of that cash it'd be a tie. Just kidding!! icon_lol.gif

That's my life in a nutshell icon_razz.gif .

I am loving this. This is a very diverse group of people.

3 more things about me:

Talking about being a PI--I secretly want to be a CSI. When DH and I married, all I read were the true murders paperbacks. My DH was convinced that I could kill him and get away with it.

I am a KISS fan since 1976. Best Friend and I dressed as Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley one year for Halloween. Snuck backstage in Terrell, TX and met Eric (the drummer who died from cancer).

No children, just 3 spoiled rotten dogs: a poodle (14 yrs. old and grouchy), a minature schnauzer (5 yrs. old and princess of the house) and and 80 lb. giant schnauzer (1 yr old and the baby).

It was me who secretly wants to be a PI! So funny to me that there are quite a few of us here who all want to be PI's!! icon_rolleyes.gif

cybourg - I too had all 3 of my children naturally. Well, except for the first one, sort of. The 1st one was a shock...I was all high 'n mighty thinking "it can't be that bad"...WRONG! My water broke, but not completely & after about 4 hrs of no contractions (after I went to the hospital) they gave me oxytocin & finished? breaking the sac to induce the contractions...went from happy go lucky to OH MY GOD WHAT THE HE** DID YOU DO TO ME...I CAN'T DO THIS..MAKE IT STOP..I HATE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU IN THIS ROOM..I WANT MY DADDY!!! icon_cry.gif But I still at least had no pain meds or epidural, lol.

The next one, well, let's just say that if I had waited for one more contraction before I left my house that he would've been born in the car!! I had labored all night at home, not realizing I was in labor b/c of how my first one came I wasn't really sure if it was labor or really ruthless gas pains!! hahaha Woke up DH at 5:30am to take oldest son to Gma's house, took a shower when he got back & left for the hospital...got there at 7:30am...(DH even pulled in the wrong way at the ER drop-off entrance) they had to undress me, I couldn't do it...and then the nurses had the nerve to try and make me wait for the Dr. to get there!! I kept myself from pushing until about 7:45am, the Dr. walked in in the middle of my 1st push - she literally walked in holding out her arms & they slipped a gown & gloves on her, she never stopped walking...& at 8 am sharp he was born...absolutely no pain meds...even if I'd wanted them, I got there too late for it.

The 3rd: that's a good story!! She was born just 2 days after hurricane Ivan...which passed right over my house. I & my family, of course, had gone to my dad's in Atlanta, I was due according to the OB on Sept. 28th, but I knew it would be the 18th or 19th...yes - I was right. hehehe I was told that if I stayed that the drop i barometric pressure would send me into labor...didn't want that! So when we found out the day after the storm that our house was fine & we even had power & water (one of only about 10 people in a 25 mile radius to be so blessed) we headed home the next morning...2 days after the storm. I went into labor on our way home, on the interstate, with a few thousand other people on the road with us. The closer we got to home, the worse the stand-still traffic got on the interstate. I was getting out of the car every now & then to walk...people were freaking out!!! OMG...are you ok???? Do you need help??? - No, my DH is just 2 cars behind you with 2 kids in the car, I'm in labor & going crazy, just needed to get some fresh air...don't mind me!! lol Really...what choice did I have?? It was definitely an adventure, at the least. By the time we hit the county we live in, my contractions were about 9 minutes apart, and we had a 40 minute drive to the hospital left to go...and were low on gas...and the gas stations had lines that were literally 1 1/2 miles long!! So we prayed really hard & headed for the hospital...we made it. My DH ran into the hospital to get some help, & when the ER nurse came to help me out of the car she actually said these words: "How pregnant are you?" I kid you not!! As a belly the size of gibraltar is coming towards her out of the car, she chooses to utter this!!! lol btw - they had just gotten water/power back & re-opened the hospital only 2 hrs. prior. Got up to the room and Audrey was born 1 hr. later in the same room her brothers were born in. She was 9 lbs 2 oz...her face was soooo fat! The nurses asked me what it was that i craved during the pregnancy that got her so chubby...cookies'n cream ice cream, i replied. So they all called her "Cookie" the whole time we were there!

Sorry to go on so long, I just get excited when I think about when/how my kids were born! I must get some kind of high off of it or something, the rush of it all...maybe that's why I keep having them!! HA icon_rolleyes.gificon_razz.gif

Hi everyone...
You're all so interesting. It's funny that we all have so many things in common.

I am 31, husband is 35. Two kids - son age 6 (planning 7th bday party for next month) and daughter age 3. I surprised my husband this weekend with a weekend away at a bed and breakfast and the airshow he has always wanted to see. It was the first time we've been away from our kids since our son was born. Much needed vacation. We love our kids dearly but man are we exhausted most of the time! We've been married for 8 1/2 years. We met at Mardi Gras in New Orleans through mutual friends and decided the night we met that we would get married one day. He proposed the next weekend and we got married a year later. I definitely believe in love at first sight! We have always been amazed that we didn't meet before the night at Mardi Gras because our families have so many things in common. My Dad said if we ever broke up he was keeping my husband and getting rid of me. My family LOVES him, almost as much as I do.

I am an artistic soul. I love reading and writing. And I love decorating cakes, obviously. I like to paint and do crafts. My sister just had her first baby so I'm finally an aunt and I painted the new baby blocks for her room. Our aunt did things like that for us so I couldn't wait to have a niece to do that for.

My husband started working at Johnson Space Center in May so we are in the process of trying to relocate from Houston to Clear Lake so we won't be spending so much money in gas every week. I just cleaned out my savings account to buy him his first new car in 9 years! He has been driving the 16 year old car that I got as a 15th birthday present and I couldn't stand to see him work on it anymore. So we went and bought him a Mustang. He's been grinning like an idiot ever since. Then he was really grinning when we took the Mustang for our trip away this weekend. He said he liked driving his baby around in his race car. He must have said thank you every 5 minutes all weekend. If you haven't figured it out by now, I am absolutely crazy about my husband and so proud of him I could just bust! He is the best thing that ever happened in my life and then he gave me two beautiful children to adore! Life couldn't be better!

I can't think of anything else interesting about me... I'm pretty average except that I have red hair (my husband and children have it too!) and the most screwed up family tree you could imagine. I am my dad's only child, my mom has me and my half-sister. My sister's dad is remarried to a girl who is 2 years older than me so that's a little weird. My dad and stepmom and have been married twice, to each other. My mom is on her 4th marriage...and counting. I have a stepbrother through my dad and a stepbrother and 2 stepsisters through my mom. My brother-in-law is the son of Jim Garrison (the guy Kevin Costner played in the movie 'JFK'). You should have seen the parents' dance at my wedding reception. Lots of couples on the floor! Sort of embarrassing. Oh well, I guess that's why I'm so determined to make my marriage work. I've been through too many marriages and divorces already!

Oh yeah and I don't drink but my husband and I both smoke, though we are wanting to quit. We've just been too stressed out to add another stress lately. Our kids run us ragged! And with our daughter's asthma and food allergies we spend alot of nights checking up on her instead of sleeping! We were laughing about our weekend away... We needed a vacation to get some sleep and to relax. We didn't need to get away for our sex lives because it's great and for some reason we've never been interrupted in the middle of anything. But on our weekend away, we did get interrupted! My dad called to ask something about our daughter. We thought it was pretty funny that the only time we've ever been interrupted was on our weekend away!

I constantly think about 3 things: sex, cakes & sleep! My husband says the cakes better take time away from the sleep and not the sex or he's going to hide my cake pans!

Okay, I have to go put munchkins to bed. My wonderful husband just finished giving them their baths. I have to relieve him so he can go play poker with the neighbors. Tonight is boys' poker night. Saturday night is co-ed and that's when I get to kick butt!

It's been really fun reading all of your stories!

Goodnight all.
Ashley

smashcakes ~ where in Indiana? I'm in a small town west of West Lafayette (where Purdue University is) Fowler, to be exact. But unless you are from the area, you will have no idea where it is. I noticed a lot of members are from Texas on here.

mvigil ~ could we be seperated at birth? Never knew anyone would have my kind of eyes! So weird.....

Mac ~ loved the comment about the dh and killing him. My husband has thought and voiced that same sentiment. I LOVE crime dramas, murder mysteries, etc... My favorite author is Richard North Pattterson...Kiss the Girls, Along came a Spider, Roses are Red, etc... currently reading Degree of Guilt. and I too would love some sort of CSI work, PI, or genetic work. Just find all of that so very interesting.

I'm officially addicted to this thread...I feel the house becoming second fiddle here for the next couple of days. I however, have 2 cake orders to fulfill. I guess I will have to get off of here at some point. Look forward to reading more.

My grandmother did it for a living so I guess I thought that it ran in the blood! It turned out great though. I would post pictures if I could figure out how.

I am a SAHM and also attend college majoring in Biology. My husband is an aerospace engineer. I love to snowboard. I have 4 tattoos and the last one I got and will ever get is on the top of my foot. It is a snowboarding frog! I coolect frogs as well.

I'm so new here...I wasn't sure if I should jump in. But here goes...

1. I have green eyes too.

2. Married 25 years, I have two kids, a girl 24, and a boy 20.

3. I have a 13 year old cat named Ginger and a 3 year old chihuahua named Tosha. The cat is 3 times bigger than the dog.

4. I've been decorating cakes for over 20 years. My husband is pretty supportive. If I have a lot of orders, he will arrange for take-out that night or something. And DH always vacuums, washes the floors, does his own laundry, unloads the dishwasher, etc. Lets just say he likes to be busy. He hates to cook though.

I work almost full time, 32 hours, for a wonderful Dentist. I don't think even if I open a buisness, which I would love to someday like most of you here, that I would quit.
I have a family of 3. Two teenage girls icon_twisted.gif and a 9 year old step son. My DH is my soul mate for sure. We were married in Montego Bay 5 years ago. Both our second marriages. He is very supportive of my cake dreams. DH is a lawyer and back in school getting MBA. I hope all the buisness classes he's taking will help with me getting a cake business in couple of years. I want hardwood floors first though icon_lol.gif
My fav. things are Family of course, my mini cooper conv., my doberman, working out and ice cream, which is why I work out so much icon_lol.gif
