Well, of COURSE I will... but I will deep freeze it, pack it in dry ice, and pay the extra $100 to have it overnighted directly from my kitchen to your waiting plate!

Are you seriously in Siberia?? Or are you just picking on me?

So I live near Washington DC and haven't been able to find any liquid Bettercreme anywhere. My best friend is from Pittsburgh so I tagged along with her this weekend when she went home because they have a GFS there....

We got directions to the store and literally ended up...NOWHERE...seriously the directions just ended and we weren't anywhere near any stores. So we had to go home and search for the phone number. The woman gave us directions to the store which wasn't near where we ended up....WHEW

Anyhoo we finally made it and I bought many many cartons of Bettercreme....anything for cake!!! I can't wait to try it out. My friend has been teasing me about the wild goose chase we ended up on...we will see if she is still laughing when she tastes the yumminess icon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

Thanks Everyone- I knew it would last close to a week out at home- but didn't have time to think about all the temp variations while it would be shipping.
Guess I'll stick to cookies and bundt type cakes.

There is a cake store in Linthicum, Md that carries the Bettercream. Don't know of any place closer to you but Linthicum is closer then Pittsburgh! icon_lol.gif Anyway, it's Kake Kraft Korner. www.kakekraftkorner.net Just a thought for next time! That's the only place I know around me the sells it but then again, I haven't really searched that hard since it's very close to where I live and that little store is jam packed with a ton of cake stuff!

I just heard from my brother that his restaurant supply company will deliver Bettercreme here, so I get to use it. I am very excited! icon_smile.gif Any suggestions on a way to get through all the ideas in this thread without reading all 37 pages -- is there possibly a summary somewhere in the middle?

****

Update ... I have now read all 37 pages and I have one question that I haven't seen answered. Can I put ganache on top of bettercreme? I don't know yet if I an going to cover the whole cake or just drizzle down the sides, but this will be for an April wedding. I will be working out of my hotel suite, so one cake that doesn't have to be refrigerated would be great!

Thanks!

Ok, I would not suggest ganache over bettercreme as the best idea because the bettercreme is so light the ganache will probably displace it as you pour, and the bettercreme might melt if the ganache is too warm, however, if you have a light hand, a cool ganache, and a LOT of patience, it might work. You just have to be very careful!

Also, in line with the first half of your post, I have created a google doc that summarizes this thread.

Thanks so much, Melvira. The google page for Gourmet Flavors has me spoiled, so I'm really excited to see your page too. I guess I'll stick with buttercream for my groom's cake since I have already promised dark chocolate ganache. icon_smile.gif

What does it do when you try? Do you get an error or something? Has anyone else tried it? I want to be sure I have it published correctly!

I finally got Bettercreme, but I can't find Chocolate Malt syrup. Lots of chocolate and powdered Ovaltine (milk flavoring product made with sugar, malt extract, cocoa, and whey). Can I use this for Mel's Chocolate Malt cupcakes or do I need to keep looking for the liquid?

Also, my Bettercreme (liquid) has been in the chest freezer since I picked it up on Thursday afternoon, but it hasn't frozen solid. It's kind of slushy feeling. Is this how it should be? I finally got some - I certainly don't want anything to happen to it. icon_cry.gif

OK, I have finally found the pre whipped bettercreme at Sam's club and also at Farm Fresh. THis is what they use on their whipped icing cakes. So I'm happy that I found this but I'd still really like to find the liquid bettercreme. Would you guys mind posting what stores you have found the liquid? I've written to the company and never get a response for some reason. I'm in Virginia and I'm hoping that I've just missed a place around here that does sell it. Thanks so much....

Have you asked your local grocery stores? I mean like the small, not really a chain stores? I found mine at McKays which is our local store around here. Keep bugging the bakery departments until you find one that will sell it to you (in liquid form).

Also, have you tried Whip n Ice? I actually like them better than Bettercreme and they will let you order from them if you spend 75 bucks. The sales person I talked to at the National Capital Area Cake Show was SO very nice.

Thanks alexandrabill. I've never heard of Whip n Ice. I'll have to check that out. I know that our local cake supply store only sells Richs Whipped topping and Farm Fresh supermarket indicated that they receive their Bettercreme in a prewhipped form. But I'm on a mission so I'm gonna keep on till I find it icon_lol.gif

Thank you, zoomzone. icon_smile.gif I picked it up at my little brother's restaurant where they had it in their walk in freezer. It wasn't frozen hard then, but I thought that might have been from time on the truck. I'm certainly glad to know that all is well. Now if I can just figure out how to use it!! Thanks again. thumbs_up.gif

Yes you can use ovaltine... just dissolve in a little milk, that should taste really good! And no, it will not freeze solid. Glad you guys are finding it! That's awesome.
