Wow there are some mind blowing cupcakes out there. I don't make many cupcakes but the ones I made that I had so much fun doing were the Pink Poodle cupcakes I made for my great niece's Pink Poodle/Paris birthday party.

Sorry I don't have a better picture of the cupcakes but this was the only photo of them that I got.

Ashley,

What do you charge for that cupcake display? I, too, bake for a living, and am having a hard time pricing things like this and cupcakes in general. Thanks for the help.

cupcakeshoppe, no, actually it's not more stable. unfortunately these are still rather top heavy. that tin planter is super, super lightweight. there are 35 standard cupcakes and 11 minis in it (i sell these for $95). i'm in the process of working through some different containers trying to find one that best suits my style of bouquet and offers the most stability.

Thanks for the info, Ashley. Have you tried filling the bottom of the container with those colored stones that they use in floral arrangements?
That might bring some balance.
What do you charge for just a basic cupcake as opposed to a more decorated one? I have been baking for 10 yrs. and am just getting started offering cupcakes. Pricing those is hard because it takes the same amount of batter as a 1/4 or a 1/2 sheet cake, but people don't see it that way. So far, my basic ones are $.50 each. icon_smile.gif

blue, i haven't really hammered out pricing. i have for my arrangements and even sometimes i'm still not sure. i've not really had any orders for just cupcakes that haven't come in a bouquet; although i have a wedding booked for oct. and i charged 2.50 each cupcake. i did just do cupcakes for $3. each and that was with a filling and boxed seperately with ribbon.

A nice thing to do to add weight to your container for cc (or cookie) bouquets is to add some candies.. M&M's.. jelly beans.. red hots.. any small hard candy you have would do. You can leave them in their packaging and just put it under your foam.

I have yet to master the CC bouquet.. I have made a few, but they never want to stay on their sticks.

giggysmack...I've been told that I make a pretty good B/C rose, but I like yours much much better. They look so soft and smooth. What B/C recipe do you use and will you please PM how you make yours? Cheers, Rachel

Thanks, I'd like to take credit for it but I can't. The bride bought it for $250 online!! I always wondered what she did with it after the 10 hours she used it for!

Thanks! icon_smile.gif I used the king size pans from Wilton and their papers to go with. The papers were aweful...I don't recommend using them. I couldn't seperate them without stretching them out and then they buckled in the pan. You would think Wilton would have made a better product.
