I was a little surprised that this cake didn't get more attention. It took FOREVER! I am swearing off building cakes--they require too much detail, too many straight lines, and too much precision--especially in the summer when your fondant is melting and slumping!

Here's mine. It's a lot of firsts. First time I eveer stacked a cake, first time I ever made flowers(just winged it), first time trying to have letters on wires-hopefully I have improved since, but it hasn't gotten a lot of views, and for being the firsts of so many things, I am proud of it.

Here is a pic of my 1st cake and cupcake order. A lot of firsts for me...first time to do a fondant cake, fondant pearls, fondant Eiffel tower. All of which would not have been possible without the tips, tutorials and inspiration I got from CC. So thanks to all of you!

I posted this a couple of weeks ago. It's gotten viewed but no comments. I'm wondering if once people get a closer look at it they decide it's not that nice. I know it's not perfect. For one, I left the bc looking a little rough. But I was very proud of it because it was my first time using PVC and I'm a beginner.

If anyone has constructive criticism/advice I would welcome it. I do want to improve.

Here is my unicorn cake:

See thats what I love are the comments EVEN IF THEY ARE NEGATIVE, how else can I learn?...I ask and ask questions on how to make a certain cake, I know its NOT going to come out like someone else that has wonderful talent in here, but the fact is I did try it, and I did learn what I can and can not do, and how much some things are a struggle, hence I have to try again and work harder.

The beauty of it....THE FAMILY GETS TO EAT MORE CAKE AS I TRY AGAIN!!!! lol My cakes also have alot of hits, but no comments on some.

I worked pretty hard on this one. I couldn't get the painted roses they way I wanted, as the color kept bleeding into the fondant/gumpaste.

I made this cake for my granddaughter's birthday. I looked through hundreds of Dora cakes and didn't see anything like it. So I thought it was an original idea and I put so much detail on it. I had visions of a cake of mine shooting to the top of the most saved page. Then I got smacked in the face with reality. So much for my dreams =( I know, I know boo hoo me!!! LOL

OK here's mine. A Barbie Princess cake that I thought looked pretty darn cute! Particularly since I've never done one before. Only got one save and one comment and I've seen others with not half the detail get more response. Is there something about it that is not particularly appealing? I seriously want to know! (actually I seriously want someone to say 'oh how cute!'

But only if someone thinks I deserve it--honestly!
