I wonder why some cakes are viewed a lot and some are hardly even looked at? Must be when we post them?

I wonder the same thing!
Your books cake is really cool. The texture on the "cover" is spot on!
Well, heres a couple of cakes that didnt seem to get much exposure. Check them out and let me know what you think.

Here's one that hasn't had many views but considering I was learning, I thought it came out okay. Picture isn't the best. Thanks for looking!

Here are a few I've done. I rarely get very many marked as favorites. I hear there's a good time for posting them, I've not found it yet.

I just finished this cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday. It took me 3 months to complete the figures, and I've only gotten 85 views on it I'm beyond proud of this cake, since I feel I have now taken my figure-making to the next level.
Please have a look and let me know what you think! Thanks!!

Figured I would share my latest cake. It took me a while to do this one. This one was time consuming making all the rocks and such. Thanks everyone for looking, I really appreciate it!!!

I really think that it is all about timing....I just happened to download a cake at the same time an executive pastry person downloaded 9, 5 tiered cakes.. and my simple little 10 inch only got peeked at...such is life ....
I have barely started with my caking, and have only posted 1 cake so far and 2 toppers (my last cake pic just keeps coming up black when I post it- grr!)
Anyway, I was so proud of my first effort, for my daughters 1st Birthday, but it barely received a look at all so was a little disheartened. I know it's nothing at all compared to the majority on here, but any comments, positive or constructive advice, much appreciated!!

Thanks!!
I agree that its all about timing. I made this wedding dress cake for my big sister and posted it the same time someone posted a really elegant version. So needless to say it didn't get much
I think maybe sometimes I take my pictures too close up and people dont want to take the time to fully open the pictures. I have a real problem with getting the right lighting too - makes the colors come out all funky! Anyway, here's my latest. . .a little too close up, but the 4th picture is probably the best. It got 2 comments.

I agree it must be a question of timing. My last four cakes barely stayed 10 minutes on the Most Recent Photos gallery. I thought there might be some interesting ideas I've used while decorating them, so I wanted to share the pictures one more time with my fellow CCers:

There are so many brilliant cakes on this thread.
These are my last 2 which have gotten lost among the fabulous cakes here.

I worked my butt off on this one and it got lost with all the pics of the Halloween cakes that were posted.
-- Can't seem to attach the link but it's the Coach purse that's in my photos.
Hey everyone, I just tried some new things this past weekend. FBCT on Princess Tiana Reading Book cake. I still need more practice with getting it smooth.

My second cake, worked all week making fondant roses, did not have enough red color mist spray, so my brilliant ideal was to paint the roses with red airbrush paint. Boy, that was a bad ideal, the paint turned my roses a goth red and black the next day. Didn't know about the change in color until I took them out of the plastic container to decorate the cake and the cake was due in 2 hrs. Holly Crap! I went to a craft store and bought red flowers. I hated that. Look at the mask and the #50, used the airbrush paint on that. Had to use gold luster dust to play that off.

I'm so glad I found this thread...Lol. I don't post too many pics on here, mainly because they do tend to get lost in the shuffle and because I'm such a newbie, I know my cakes are not up to the calibur of the majority on this site. But...every now and then, I have a creation that I just love so much and I'm so proud of, I want to share. Just in the last 2 days, I posted 2 of the 4 cakes I did this past weekend. I'm not sure what to think because they both got a good bit of reviews, but no comments. I'm still quite proud, none the less.
