Here is one of my cakes I really was looking for a little more feedback, as I was just unsure of the combination and was hoping some of you would maybe let me know how you would of done it differently with the color choices... TFL

This one is my first wedding cake, ever.

I definitely see a lot I could have done better/differently, but I'm really proud that I pulled it off like I did. I have to say, it turned out a lot better than I had expected! The bride was very happy, so yay! icon_biggrin.gif

TFL!

I don't get it - I posted this a while ago and it never even made it to the front just posted home page. That made me sad, because I really liked it!

I've only gotten 1 or 2 comments on my cakes, and I think they are pretty awesome. ESPECIALLY for someone who only started working with fondant last year (on the firetruck cake) and has never had any formal instruction. Every thing I know, I learned from the internet and watching Ace of Cakes, lol

http://cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-photos-by-shaibaer.html

eta: These are the only cakes I have made in the last year. The firetruck was last yr's bday cake for my son and the others have been made this year since September. So there was a year gap between the firetruck and the airplane. I didn't make any "practice cakes" nor have I worked on any decorating between the cakes.

Your fire truck is really good! I wish I saw it before I made mine. How did you do the ladder?

Hi everyone! I left lots of comments. Karen, I don't get it either. That wedding cake was fabulous! My grandsons school had a bake, tree and wreath sale this past weekend, and I made cookies, and 6 Christmas Tree Cakes. They sold out 3/4 through the first day! I thought they came out good. Oh well. Here are the links. Kathy

I made the ladder out of fondant. I just rolled it out, cut it to size and let it dry for a few days. I had to patch it because little 5 yr old fingers can't keep out of mommy's things even when they are put up high on a shelf. icon_cry.gif

I'm still a beginner, hence the username - but I just started caking in September. My pillow cake and my parents birthday cake were my worst cake-fails for execution but I was really proud of some of my cake class cakes.

It's funny when you look at your work and ones you really love hardly get noticed and one I was just sort of meh about got more comments and likes than any of them.

here is my gallery of recents:
