I definitely see a lot I could have done better/differently, but I'm really proud that I pulled it off like I did. I have to say, it turned out a lot better than I had expected! The bride was very happy, so yay!

I've only gotten 1 or 2 comments on my cakes, and I think they are pretty awesome. ESPECIALLY for someone who only started working with fondant last year (on the firetruck cake) and has never had any formal instruction. Every thing I know, I learned from the internet and watching Ace of Cakes, lol

eta: These are the only cakes I have made in the last year. The firetruck was last yr's bday cake for my son and the others have been made this year since September. So there was a year gap between the firetruck and the airplane. I didn't make any "practice cakes" nor have I worked on any decorating between the cakes.

Your fire truck is really good! I wish I saw it before I made mine. How did you do the ladder?

Hi everyone! I left lots of comments. Karen, I don't get it either. That wedding cake was fabulous! My grandsons school had a bake, tree and wreath sale this past weekend, and I made cookies, and 6 Christmas Tree Cakes. They sold out 3/4 through the first day! I thought they came out good. Oh well. I'm still a beginner, hence the username - but I just started caking in September. My pillow cake and my parents birthday cake were my worst cake-fails for execution but I was really proud of some of my cake class cakes.

It's funny when you look at your work and ones you really love hardly get noticed and one I was just sort of meh about got more comments and likes than any of them.

If I favorite someones photo I usually try to tell them why, I think we all want to hear something about our cakes

You're right Babs. Thats why we are trying to keep this going! We all work very hard on our projects, and a little comment goes a long way.

I have always wondered what time zone is in place. Sometimes I post a pic and it does not make 24hr period. One minute i'm most viewed and the next minute i've disappeared to picture heaven, filed away......... LOL

Sure it looks like the leaning tower of pisa, but I'm proud of it. Now that I have the agbay, I'm pretty sure the next one will be much better:
