Hello table friends! I'm finally starting to get some rest. My body is forcing me too.
My daughters b-day is this weekend. The character is Pikacho who she wants from Pokemon. My DH said he is making the cake though so I really don't have much to worry about. (hopefully) He's already made the gumpaste ears, tail and feet. He plans on making a 3-D carved cake. This will be his first ever cake of any kind. He's never even baked one before. So far the gumpaste pieces look good. He's very ambitious so I hope it turns out well for him. My daughter is excited. He doesn't want to let her down.
*I only have to make cupcakes for her class.*
Sparkle--I'm so glad for you and your in-laws. It's best this way for everyone. I was starting to get concerned for you since we were in almost the same situation with my grandparents.
Janine- I couldn't access the link to your cake, but I'll look at your photos as soon as I'm done posting. I'm sure it gorgeous, just like the rest of your cakes.
Kay--I'm glad your DH is doing a little better. I'm sorry you had to celebrate you anniversary in the hospitall, but I'm sure after all you 2 have been through this last week, it just didn't matter. I wish I lived closer to help you. I would have cooked one heck of a meal and delivered it for you because you are my twin. icon_wink.gif
Ohara--Is the baby healing up any better? I sure hope so, poor little guy. How are things in your neck of the woods?
Mewie-- How is everything. Are you still eating your fabulous meals?! Oh who am I kidding, I'm sure you are.

Tonight was beef hotdogs with chips, bbq chicken pizza and ice cream. (I had a kiddie scoop of coconut-chocolate chip-almond---it was wonderful!)
So much for me eating healthy today --ha ha ha. I guess I'll really need to work out tomorrow. We did go to the park today with the kids which is huge with trails and a river and lots of animals you can spot in their natural habitat. We walked probably about 2 1/2 miles or more.
Last night was take out. I had a rib-eye sandwich with fried onion straws on top, all on top of hoagie bread--with a side of sweet potato fries. YUM!!
(and I wonder why I can't fit in my clothes. icon_rolleyes.gif )

WE ARE HOME party.gif Exhausted but HOME

I don't feel up to reading up on posts right now..But thanks for all your support..

I was a very long week..I am so thankful Mike is doing better. They are thinking it was just a very severe case of phnumonia(that he has probably had for quite awhile). Mix that with his work enviroment and smoking for about 30 years..He has stopped smoking at least for now.. The docs told him no smoking and right now he doesn't even want to. thumbs_up.gif He will be off work for at least another week. This last week has been really tough but I feel Mike and I actually grew stronger...I know it sounds weird but that is how it feels.

Ok since I was dang exhausted. For supper I tossed together some boxed cheesy scalloped and boxed augratin potatoes, carrots and diced ham. Tossed it in the oven and watched tv while it cooked...

Catch up with ya all tomorrow Kay

Kay--I'm so happy that your DH is home. I'm sure you appreciate each other more than ever after going through everything you did.

Tonight was breaded pork chops, creamy red-skinned mashed potatoes, seasoned green beans and carrots with homemade bread and honey-butter spread. I have watermelon and apples later for dessert.

(I think I gained the 2 pounds I lost and some over the last few weeks--I've been eating too good and now my pants don't want to fit again. icon_redface.gif )

I just talked to Christi (wgoat5) she is such a sweetheart.

I'm trading in my Expedition today and getting a mini-van again. UGGG, car payments--yuck. But it will be good to be able to not pay as much in gas at the pump and it will be more kid friendly as far as getting them in and out easier.
My daughters 8th birthday is Saturday and I'm baking the cakes for it right now. My DH is making the cake and is getting excited but nervous about carving and covering in fondant. I hope it goes well.

Last night was corndogs and chips. So not healthy, but I was lazy and didn't want to cook.

First off, Kay, glad to hear everyone is home, hope that things settle down for you and dh continues to get better.

Melissa, hope your daugther enjoys her birthday and I'm sure her cake will be wonderful, can't wait to see it.

Well, let's see Tuesday we had stuffed chicken breast with some of the leftover potato and mac salad from the weekend, fruit and vegs.

Wednesday we had a taco casserole and fruit.

Tonight will be chicken scarpariello, chicken, sausage, mushrooms, cherry peppers cooked with garlic and in a lemon/wine sauce, served over coucous, and probably some more fruit!

A big hello to everyone else,

Mewie I hope you are right about the cake. He was suppose to do everything from start to finish. So far he's made the gumpaste pieces. I've had to make the buttercream, cakes and the fondant. Tonight I'm filling them and doweling them for DH so he can start carving when he gets home. For a cake I wasn't suppose to help with or touch I'm sure doing a good chunk of it icon_lol.gif .
Your food always sounds soooo good.

Tonight was salad with dressing for me. Kids had salad, chicken and applesauce.

Hello my friends. I'm sorry that I've not posted in over a week.

Kay I am so glad that you all are home. I hope Mike is getting much better. He must have been one sick man. Praying for good things to come your way.

Melissa I hope you enjoy your new van. Car payments are the devil. We didn't have one for years, and then we bought my SUV and now payments and huge gas bills. Not a great choice, in hind sight. I hope you all enjoy your daughters birthday. Can't wait to hear how the cake comes out.

Janine, glad you are enjoying your classes. I liked your basket weave cake. I enjoy doing basket weave. Are you all still having power outages?

Mewie, your dinner always sounds so good! Your chicken scarpariello, sounds yummy!

Christie glad to see you at the table. Your chair was starting to get a little dusty. Hope all is well with you.

Sparkle....how are things working out with the in laws? I hope they are getting settled and you are getting some rest. I'm glad that you got to do some fun things. You deserve a break.

Long week here. We went to Illinois for the holiday weekend. My nephew graduated from high school, so we went for graduation and his party. The baby did not travel well for this trip as his circumcision was not doing well at this point. We came home on Monday. This week the baby had 5 appointments and I had 2. In 4 days!! I am so tired tonight. He had his 6 month shots. He also had to see the urologist that same day. They did confirm for me that things are not correct. They did some awful stuff to him, while I held him, poor little guy. We are now using a medicine, and if it doesn't help they will have to do another procedure. icon_eek.gif I take him back next Friday. Next week we only have 3 appointments.
We (my dh and I, no kids) leave for our Alaska trip in a week. I hope I get everything that needs done, done. I will try to check in soon. Have a good one.

Hey everyone, todays Raya's birthday and the party starts at 4:30 My DH still has to decorate the cake and is planning on starting it at 1:00 I hope it gets done in time.

Christi-I may have an escapee crab but you have an escapee cat that managed to climb a 12ft brick wall. icon_lol.gif I'm still laughing over that one.

Janine-how's the classes going?
Sparkle--how are you doing? The in-laws?
Mewie- how's NY treating you this week?
Kay- Is your DH still on the mend?
Ohara- I hope the baby gets better soon Poor little guy has had a rough road. How long will you be in Alaska for?

Tonight will be hot dogs, brats, burgers, chips, veggies and dip, a few other dishes that people are wanting to bring and cake with ice cream. (hopefully it is a completely decorated cake being served icon_wink.gif )

icon_cry.gif I just realized I turn 30 in 2 days icon_cry.gif

Hi! Jon's first cake is posted in my pics if you want to see it. I think he did a good job. He's now planning on making our sons 3rd b-day cake in 2 weeks. He wants it to be a carved car like Lightning McQueen. I think I may only have to worry about baking cakes now and just let him take over when he can (just kidding) He really did like decorating it though.

My mom took me out to eat today so I had a bowl of potato soup, salad with a honey roll and I ordered pasta that I couldn't eat so I brought it home to DH.

I'm glad you classes are going well janine.

Hope you are all doing fabulous!

Well I'm back icon_lol.gif had some stuff to do and didn't have time to write.

Janine - hope you're keeping notes on your classes we all might have to pick your brain one day. Hope your having a blast.
mklomar - Happy Birthday to your DD, your DH obviously has a talent maybe you both should set up business. Sounds like party, party, party at your place.
Ohara - hope your looking after yourself too. A trip to Alaska with no kids could be just what the Dr ordered. I'm free that week do you have any room in your bags icon_biggrin.gif .
Kay - hope hubby is improving everyday, great he's not smoking at the moment hope it continues.

We saw the inlaws in their new home, it was very nice. The MIL told me she's not sure whether she's doing to stay or not icon_eek.gif . I told her there is nothing else available and she' needs help. She's wheelchair bound now she can walk around the unit but not to far. Advanced diabetes and a weakened heart are the cause of this. The FIL pushes her around for him the wheelchair is like a walking frame, so that works well. He's doing well thank goodness.

It's getting colder here and raining, which is good, we need it.

Can't remember what day I ate what but I'll give you an overview.
Beef Casserole with veggies
Baked honey & soy pork fillets with baked veggies
Filled pasta with tomato sauce
Chicken schnitzel with veggies

Have a great week you guys thumbs_up.gif

I didn't even eat dinner that night because my DH didn't want to go out. My dad forgot it was my birthday and called me drunk to yell at me for going to the funeral home icon_confused.gif My kids were yelling and grouchy most the day too. So I really couldn't wait for the day to end.
Everything was great yesterday though so I declared yesterday my re-do birthday. icon_lol.gif

Dinner tonight was spaghetti, breaded chicken, green beans and garlic toast. I'm coming down with a bug right now so I'm not sure how much I'll be on here. I had to cancel an order which was really small and tell her I couldn't help out with keeping food stocked properly at her sons graduation. I was suppose to help out at the graduation to cover for my friend who couldn't She doesn't trust anyone else to do it and now I can't. I honestly can't serve food to people and get them sick. (also their son just graduated from Med school--so that wouldn't look bad at all icon_lol.gif )
I hope the mom doesn't hate me forever. She is such a sweet lady and I know she will be upset.

I hope everyone is well!

Hey yall sorry I didn't post sooner but I didn't get the eamil thingy..

OK when it rains it pours Literally..

The reason I didn't post on the 28th was we had several tornados touch down in our town. It took 2 or our huge pine trees. One went to the street and not on the house thankfully. Second huge tree landed across Mike's Camero and Jordan's truck. Town was torn up really bad. There is footage of the storms on You Tube. Kearney Nebraska tornados. But we were thankful again only damage was the antanee was broke off of the Camero..

Then on Mon. Jordan's truck caught fire. All the wiring and the dash are trashed. He is working on repairing it now..

Also on Mon. Mike was doing AWESOME his oxygen level was up to 98 % So doc released him back to work. But his work still didn't have electricity. They wer on generator power. He went to work and sorted vavles to get orders out. But they had electricity on Tues. night so they were running there machines. When he came home on Wed. morning he couldn't breath well again. And had chills. I got him into a doc at 3:30 Wed afternoon. His oxygen level was back down to 84%. Doc wanted to put him back in the hospital. But she gave him a breathing treatment and his level went back up to 91%. So she said he could go home with meds and breathing treatments as long as he goes to lung specialist this morning.

Then at midnight tonight we had more wicked storms pass over our town.. No tornados tonight here thankfully. But our basement has flooded. Definatly not good for Mike..

So I am not sure if he will be admitted to the hospital again or not. So keep us in your thoughts. And we are suppose to get hit hard again today (Thur.) with storms..

So anyway what did we eat?? Wed. night I got Roast beef sandwich meat from the deli at Walmart. So that was what we had.

Tues. was taco salad..

So if I am not on for afew days you will know why.Hospital or storms...

I swear on of these days I will have a chance to catch up.. ((HHHUUUUGGGSSS))

Hi Everyone-

We've been in the middle of a bad heatwave.

Yesterday was very hot and humid, but we managed to have family dinner. I marinated some chicken drumsticks and boneless chicken and we threw them on the grill. With them we had homemade tortillini pasta salad, another bacon and ranch pasta salad, beans, corn and watermelon.

Tonight, BLT's with leftover salads.

I hope everyone is doing well, I understand there has been some very bad weather around these United States! Hope all are safe!

Talk to you all soon!

Hot and humid plus stormy here too Mewie. The storm on Friday knocked our power out and I had to stay with my mom and dad this weekend with the 4 kids. No AC at my mom and dads house so we ran through the sprinkler to stay cool. My DH was 3 hours north fishing for the weekend with his buddies. He had a great time, glad he could go and he missed out on all the hot and sweaty fun of the power outage.

Tonight was italian marinated chicken breast with salad, mac and cheese and wheat bread loaf.
Last night was pizza.

Making cakes is fun in this heat icon_confused.gif My ganache would start to soften and slide off the cake at a moments notice today, but they still were happy. It was a chocolate-raspberry cake with chocolate ganache and raspberries chopped up for the filling. All covered in ganache and then topped with chocolate dipped strawberries and raspberries---I bet you it melted all over their car and was dripping through the box. icon_lol.gif

Janine, I'm so glad your classes are going well and I would so take a cake from you any day of the week you want to make me one, of course when you win the Lotto that can happen icon_wink.gif

Sparkle-Unbirthdays! I love it! Are you all starting to get colder down there.
Kay--I hope you and your family is ok. Those trees ripping out of the ground could have done some serious damage.
Ohara-I hope you have a wonderful trip to Alaska. I would love to visit there one day, I heard it's gorgeous.

I hope everyone else is doing well and eating great!

Well hey there from down under where it's getting cooler, foggy, wet and windy, I suppose we have to expect these things seeing as it is Winter, brrr. Haven't had any frosts yet due to the rain but I have no doubt it will happen. So janine don't win the lottery until Spring hits it's too yucky here at the moment icon_cool.gif . But I'm sending cool thoughts to you guys with all the heat, I believe it's pretty hot in some places.
The in-laws are happy (well not really) in their new place. The MIL still wants to go home but I think she is actually starting to understand that it's not going to happen, finally. The FIL rings me about once a week complaining about the food (not enough, but that's been sorted, he now gets larger meals), peculiar goings on (mainly in his head, sad to say) and I got into trouble for not going up last weekend, which was a long weekend here. Well I was a bit miffed, go crook at one of your sons not me icon_mad.gif , my DH doesn't like leaving the house on a long weekend, too much traffic. Well apart from that they are doing fine. We've moved some stuff to their hostel to make it more homey and will get some movers to move their lounge chairs and other heavy items that we're not prepared to go into traction for icon_lol.gif . The MIL still has headaches and stomach aches but she has a lot of medical problems and they are doing the best that they can for her, she seems to be allergic to lots of stuff.
Anyway food hmm we had a baked chicken dinner tonight (DH's speciality with a BBQ chook, I didn't tell you that icon_eek.gif ). My brother came over last weekend and we had a BBQ steak, baby octopus, prawns and snags, with coleslaw and salad, dessert was a double sponge cake with jam and cream (no calories there icon_rolleyes.gif ) and choc chip slice.
Kay Hope DH is doing well and you are surviving the storms, we hear bits and pieces but it sounds pretty bad over there.
How's the course going Janine, any more pics, we need to know what you've been doing.
mkolmar I used to love running through the sprinkler when I was little, we can't do that anymore cause of water restrictions, sending cool thoughts your way icon_cool.gif
Have a great week

Hey guys I wanted to stop by for a few minutes to update ya. Well we still don't know alot. Mike has went back to work twice and each time came home not being able to breath relly good. We go to the lung specialist on Tues. The last time we went to Reg doc (specialist was out of town) He made Mike have O2 at home. So he is on meds, breathing treatments and O2. They are still having people at work getting sick. So we still don't have any answers. They are saying the air is clean. But something has to be making them sick.

Sparkle I hope everything works out with the family.

Sorry I haven't really had a chance to read up on everything. I hope everyone is doing Ok

Last night I made chicken nuggets for Mike and Brooke. They also had leftover scalloped potatoes with them. I had to take Jordan to his girlfriends. She lives a hour away. So grabbed Taco Johns on the way back home. A Taco Burger and potato oles.

Janine, great job on all of the cakes!
Sparkle-I'm glad that your in-laws are doing better (well as to be expected I should say)
Kay- I hope Mike gets better. Somethings not right with where he works if others are getting ill also. I hope they figure it out soon.
Mewie-how's NY treating you this week.

Saturday was our sons 3rd birthday party so we had hot dogs, chicken salad on croissants, baked beans, corn on the cob, pasta salad, chips, veggies with dip and fresh fruit. Of course birthday cake and ice cream too.
*Jon made the cake so I'll post it tomorrow morning in my photos. He wants to see what others think. He wasn't as happy with this one, but for his 2nd cake he picked Lightning McQueen to do icon_eek.gif.

Jon and I ate light at the party since yesterday was our 11 year anniversary we went out to eat. I had an amaretto sour icon_lol.gif bread, salad and eggplant parmesan.

Today was Fathers day so I made dinner for my dad, mom, husband, MIL, BIL and kids. I made steak, butter-garlic shrimp, red skinned potatoes that were seasoned and cooked till crispy, baked potatoes, baked beans, portabella mushroom caps-seasoned-drizzled in oil-sundried tomatoes and covered in melted cheese, beer bread and honey butter. Dessert was NY cheese cake with strawberries dipped in chocolate.

Quick stop..

Happy Fathers Day to all the cake girls hubby's or sons...

Tonight I BBQ'd steaks and made homemade potato salad, Corn I froze from last year, and cornbread..

Since we missed our anniversary dinner I usually make, I made this. I really didn't do a dessert. But DH took the cornbread and buttered it a topped it with maple syrup LOL and then had Butter Pecan ice cream.. Tonight I think he had a hollow leg cause he was still hungry LOL

I need to get the kitchen cleaned up I thank everyone for their well wishes.. We go to lung specialist on Tues. So I will update you all then..
