Sorry to hear about the dr's Connie. Hopefully the get to the bottom of your headaches though, your dh is right you are worth it! Also if it makes you feel any better we have a high deductable plan($7500), so when dd cracked her head open and we went to the ER it ended up being a $1400 bill.

Merissa I am jealous of your quiet time. I watch my nieces and nephews every T/TH while my sister goes to school...that's a totaly of 5 kids. They're having a sleep over tonight so my sister can study for a test to take tomorrow.

I forgot to weigh myself this morning but I've been hanging on to those 3 lbs lost since disney. I haven't been exercising but my eating has been better than usual.

Oh Connie, I hope your head gets better. I know the feeling, I get severe migraines that last up to a week. My longest lasted about 11 days and then I had 2 days off of pain before I got another. Please take care of yourself, after all, there is only one of you and you can't be replaced. icon_wink.gif

Ok now time to brag, I was so stoked to find out that I have lost 11 lbs since I started! (about 1 1/2 weeks ago) EEEEEEE!!!! Although the heat has helped some. It makes me not want to eat and drink only water. The reason I'm so excited about this is that I have a terrible time losing weight. I have never lost this much so quickly. I'm hoping to keep it up. Thank you all so much for the advice. thumbs_up.gif

That's amazing, Charity, you're doing so well!!!!

Connie, I sympathise with your health/money situation. My DH's back is still a big problem. He was told by the doctor that surgery is the only option, but is looking into EVERY OTHER OPTION before doing that. He has just been told by a chiropractor that he can be fixed, at $55 a session, 2 x sessions a week for 6 months!!!! I don't know where that money will come from!

Michelle, I hope you have a great time away. DBF will really miss you, eh??

Karen, please don't start skipping meals again....you've been doing so well!!!

My weight was the same as last week. I have decided I will fill up some drink bottles with the daily requirement of water and leave them sitting on the kitchen bench so they are in constant view. Otherwise I just forget to drink water!! Hopefully this will help.

Hi Everyone~
Happy Friday!

Connie, I can only echo and repeat what everyone else has said about healthcare...$100 is a lot of money, but it's NOT a waste to spend it the way you did. It's important. If you don't get taken care of, then your family doesn't get taken care of.

Charity, congratulations on your losses! That's great, it sounds like you're encouraged.

Sonia, good idea on the water. If it's in front of you, it will be encouraging and easier to do.

Merissa, I hope you got some quiet time and Casey, you too!

I'm being called away...more later.

Morning, all!

Connie, I sure hope that you get a clean bill of helath. Listen to your husband. He is right, you need to take care of yourself. I've been trying for the last couple years to get that point across to my husband. Now he is ready to move back to Florida and I told him I would not budge until he got his dental work done. He is not happy.

Charity, 11 pounds in 1 and a half weeks? Is that not a fast loss? What are you doing to lose weight? If I could use 11 pounds, I would be finally started on my goal.

Well, I'd better go for now. I'll try to check in later.

Have a great day, all!

Karen

Hi everyone! Congrats on your loss Charity! That is awesome! I think the most I have ever lost in a 2 week period was about 6 pounds. that was when I started the south beach diet and I didnt cheat at all! If I could just do that again....

Well I am off to get my hair cut, run some errands and then pack for the trip. So I probably wont be able to check in until the end of next week. I might struggle without my daily computer fix. Oh well, it will be good for me.

Yea, I know. the only thing I can think of is that we don't have ac and I really haven't wanted to eat. I have to force food down. I know it's not the best way but our ac is coming soon. Also, I cut sweets out.

Happy Saturday Everyone!

It's hot and humid here, but at 5:30, it started to get overcast and a bit cooler, which is nice.

I learned yesterday that I have to work tomorrow. Sunday is my favorite day of the week, I see it as "my" day, totally protected to do whatever it is I choose to do. But...the post where I work has 2000 soldiers coming in from a 15 month deployment to Afghanistan over the next few weeks and about 150 are coming in tomorrow, who all have to be assessed for mental health needs. So I'm OK with it because it's for a good cause, it's so heartwarming to see them come in. I do get comp time, so it's all good in the end.

How's everyone doing?

Wow, no weekend posts, I hope everyone had exciting and fun things to do that you'll write about so I can live vicariously through you! Nothing too exciting for me, I lounged around at home on Saturday and worked Sunday and made some mini-cakes for a friend's birthday that turned out cute. Always dangerous with all that cake and buttercream around and I did indulge! But I'm back on track today.

How is everyone? Remember, every minute of everyday, you can start over. It doesn't matter what you've eaten or how much of it you consumed...every second is an opportunity to start again. I'd rather start again today and still be the same weight in one month than not start and be 5 pounds heavier. You can do it!

Hello, nothing exciting for me to report really. Friday and Saturday helped my family w/ my great grandmother's estate sale. How she got all of that stuff in that little house I will never know! It was SOOOOO hot OMG we were melting out there (the house had no power also so no refuge anywhere).
I also found out on Saturday that my brother whom is an Army reservist will be going back to Iraq next year, he'll be starting his training here soon. UGH I don't know if I can do this again, I teased him that he's trying to kill me before I'm even 30! He has a 2 1/2 month old little girl and a wife this time (last time he was single) So his wife doesn't know what to expect at all! Thankfully I have some clue not like that will make it any easier I REALLY freaking HATE this let me tell you. Its so difficult to describe one minute you are so darn proud then next all you can do is bawl your eyes out!

As for my headaches that all of you so graciously made me feel better about the $$ part, my cat scan is this afternoon so hopefully in a couple of days I'll have some answers. I can tell you that even w/ the very expensive rx's my headache is still there and same as it was one day lighter another day really intense. Of course neither of the meds were pain killers but still UGH...

I hope that everyone else is doing well or at least not on the emotional roller coaster that I am on!

Connie, I'm sorry your brother has to go to Iraq. Be sure and vote so you can have a say! Thank goodness this time around, even if people don't support the war, they support the soldiers, not like in Vietnam times.

Oh I will be voting for sure! I don't want him to go obviously last time he missed the entire pregnancy and birth of my son which at the time he didn't have any kids and he was VERY close w/ my daughter (still is but you know what I mean).
I just hate this UGH I mean I'm proud of what he's doing and all but I want him here I'm selfish!

Sorry about the news of your brother, Connie. It sounds like you're very close to him.

We went to the snow on Saturday. Two of my sisters and their families came with us, so there were plenty of people to throw snowballs at! It was lots of fun.

OMG snow would be AWESOME right now!!!! Heck snow would be awesome to get in the winter LOL
We were at 104 by 11am yesterday per the little marquee down the road. Snow we don't get but a dusting even in the winter if we are LUCKY and 99% of the time it's mixed w/ ice so the road are iced over .... fun I tell you what!

If I never see snow again, it will way too soon.

Wishing the best for your whole family, Connie. Prayers for your brother to be safe on his tour of duty this time around.

Nothing exciting happening here. It is getting close to the time we can leave so I am getting anxious to go now.

I had to go to the bank yesterday because somebody had gotten hold of my bank card and charged about $250. That is the extent of it, though because we cancelled the card as soon as the bank opened yesterday. Thankfully I have a job where I can go across the street and they were willing to give me the half hour in the morning to get it done.

Well, it is past time to start work, so I'd better get going.

Have a great day, all!

Yikes, Karen, I'm glad you could easily take care of your bank card! Are you responsible for any of the money spent?

And Connie, I agree about the snow! Charity, what part of the country (world?) do you live in?

All, please have a good thought for our Army soldiers in Italy, they've been through a really painful 15 months in Afghanistan and are coming back in staggered groups. Just when they were wrapping up, just when they were planning their reunions with people who love them, and after about 500 of them had already returned here, we received the devastating news on Sunday that the 9 soldiers killed while fighting off rebel forces in Afghanistan were from this post. This post is very small and it's like a tiny town, where everyone knows everyone. It's just awful, the grief hanging in the air. It's hard for those who are already back to celebrate their happiness and relief and not feel guilty about the ones who won't return. When people try to celebrate and grieve at the same time, the grief always seems to prevail. I learned this after many years of working in children's hospitals where I worked with several families who were grieving the loss of a dying child and celebrating the loss of a child just born or about to be born into the family. My office has been very busy these last days trying to provide crisis intervention and support to the community...so I may not be posting very much in the next few days.

I hope all of you are well. I lost 1/2 pound this week, so at least I feel like I'm back on track. Thank you for your support.

Susan, I am so sorry to hear that. You will be busy for some time to come then. I know I would be racked with pain and guilt that I came home and my fellow disdn't.

I am not sure about the money. They are investigating but the bank manager says that usually you get your money back. I am hoping that no merchadise was sent to these people, either.

Hubby checked yesterday and the money was put back into the account. I just hope that the companies didn't lose out, either. Of course, they really should be responsible for finding out if the card really belongs to who is using it.

Susan, hope you are hanging in there. Prayers and thoughts for you and all of those who came back and the families of those who did not.

Karen - glad you got your money back and I hear ya on places not checking ppl w/ there cards. I have 'see ID" on my debit card and would you like to know how often I'm asked if a cashier can see my id? almost never, to the point that when a cashier DOES ask me I give them props! Sickens me!

Well, I believe it's my turn as cheerleader this week, and that's probably a good thing, because I've put on 1 lb!!! I must make a more determined effort this week!

So I'm going to set 2 challenges, which will be for the whole week:
1) Something I mentioned a week or two ago - pre-measure your daily requirement of water and have it somewhere where you can always see it, and aim to drink the lot each day!
2) Add something healthy to your daily menu that you wouldn't normally eat - for me it will be an apple. I really don't like apples, but I've always got them on hand for the kids, so I will aim to eat an apple a day.

I love this site so much, I crawled out of my sleepy state (at work) to log on! I miss being here daily, I just cannot right now. I'm so exhausted I'm bleary eyed. I just learned that we get this weekend off (yay!!) but will probably be working the next 3 weekends for a whopping 26 days in a row by the time the 4th weekend rolls around. So you may not "see" very much of me! (Wish that were true pound-wise!).

I am happy that it's rainy and cooler today. There was a nice overnight storm, it was great to sleep to. I kinda hope it stays this way over the weekend. The only plan I have other than sleeping is to go to a friend's house on Sunday. Tuesday was Friendship Day in Brazil and to celebrate that, she invited about 20 women over to eat and hang out. She asked us to bring whatever we wanted to do for the day...a book, paint, letter writing material, games. Sounds relaxing and fun, I'm looking forward to it. She lives in the hills above the Soave vineyard, anyone drink Soave wine?

Susan you never cease to amaze me! I don't know how you handle your career, you are an awesome woman!!!! Our troops need people like you so I sure hope you appreciate yourself! That is soooo sad that the 9 americans were from your station...it's sad regardless but like you said, in such a small community it hits close to home.

Friendship day sounds like fun....I've never heard of it. Well maybe on Dora, there's an episode where Swiper swipes all the friendship bracelets and then has to help give them back but I thought it was just a Dora thing.

I have been super busy this week. I've had my sisters kids 4 days in a row....ack!!!! And then she took mine today so I did a major cleaning, it was nice.

My eating isn't terrible. I maintained on weigh in day so that's good. I've also been staying up until 2:30am which isn't good.
First was a girls night out with my book club...we went to a wine bar and then saw Sex In The City which didn't even end until almost 1am. The next night I was playing with my new kitties and last night I was doing laundry...and playing Rock Band FUN! Tonight I had some friends over for dinner....it is nice to relax.

Hope everyone is having a terrific weekend!!!!
