Hey Girls~

OK, I'll recommit too.

Hi, my name is Susan, I'm 48, am 5'3" and weigh 209. Other than the obvious, my goals are:

1. Eat within my calorie range on a daily basis with the exception of 1 meal/week when I can go off the plan if I choose.

2. Reach 10,000 steps a day 5 out of 7 days a week.

3. RECORD my weight weekly (even if I gain! I haven't been good about this!)

So I would encourage everyone to consider joining the Cake Central Team at Sparkpeople. Michelle, I noticed you're there!! Yay!!

Morning all!

Just lost like 10 pounds. I had my hair cut yesterday.

Casey, I am so sorry you are having such a hard time of it. I just don't know how caregivers do it. I certainly couldn't. Just remember that we are here if you need to talk.

Well, gotta go. Just popped in to say hi! Have a great day!

Good morning. I actually had a successful day yesterday! Yea me! I kept picking up this cookie that my kids left on the counter and putting it back down. It is just a habit thing to "clean up" after them. I didn't even really want it.

Thanks to everyone who is recommitting to me! It feels good to be excited about this again. I hope it lasts more than 3 days. LOL.

Good morning everyone!

Charity, so sorry for your troubles. I used to be a nurses aid at a nursing home and it was so hard when one of them passed. It was like loosing a grand parent.

YEA to all of us for recommitting!! I have also started to log things in spark people. I am just so busy both at work and at home now that I dont have the time that I used to.

My foot seems to be hurting a bit more when I walk now that the swelling has gone down. I sure hope it doesnt take months for it to feel good enough to get back on the treadmill. I think I may be able to do the walking DVD, Leslie Sansone because I can regulate it my self, not like the treadmill.

OK gotta run and get some work done.

Sorry Charity my thoughts are with you and yours!

I will recommit also... Hello I'm Connie I'm 27 5'4 and 135lbs

My goals are to get back to working out haven't done so in MONTHS!

I don't have weight loss goals really but wouldn't argue w/ 5/10 lbs mainly I want to add muscle tone to my abs/legs and arms...

side note - I finished my sil bday cake - she had an odd request of Wonder Woman on her day off flying her invisible jet. I had the hardest time trying to figure out how to make an invisible jet edible! Finally dh came up w/ making the shadow of the jet on the ground w/ WW in the air so that's what I did.... I think it turned out pretty well except for WW head being too small for her body icon_redface.gif

Well, I'm back. Thanks you guys. I am feeling a bit better. I found that exercising has helped a lot. It's funny because all I want to do is sleep or lay down, but as soon as I drink some water and get up and move I feel so much better. I have been eating a whole lot better too.
I have other clients who are healthy and fun. I'm just one of those caregivers that get very attached. I feel that I don't think that I can do my best at work without that connection with these people. Anyway, thanks for listening.

Charity, I'm glad you're back and so sorry about the loss of your client. It really is the big circle of life that helps us to appreciate what we have now. I hope you're feeling better.

Well for the first time in a couple of months on a Wednesday (all the stars had to be aligned!), I lost 1/2 pound. I'm pleased with it and only hope it continues! So I've reached a little milestone of 35 pounds, yea!

Hi, I'm Sonia, I'm 35 years old, 6'5", and I am currently at my highest weight of 165lbs icon_redface.gificon_redface.gif Has anyone noticed that most of us seem to be at our highest weight (except Susan, of course) I think this is the result of "dieting". It just shows me that we need a long term committment to healthy eating, rather than dieting.

Susan, congrats on your next milestone! Very exciting!!

Love your wonder woman cake, Connie!! How are your headaches going??

Michelle, it sounds like you are SOOOO busy these days! You're doing great!! Hope that foot's feeling better soon.

Thanks for the challenge, Casey. I really need to concentrate on drinking more water!

wooohooo susan! congrats!

I loved wonder woman too, connie! It looked like a REAL wonderwoman! LOL.

Hope your toe feels better soon Michelle! Once when I was a kid a frozen chicken fell from the freezer (like a whole one) and landed on my toe. it sounds funny now, but it really hurt then. ahh good memories.

I wasnt as good yesterday because I took the kids to this "kids day" thing. So eating was hot dogs and chips. However, I ate an ice cream too. And some cake scraps. I could have planned better and packed a lunch or just skipped the ice cream at least! Oh well. I recovered with a healthy dinner and a 3 mile walk. I am just going to keep on going. I guess that will be my treat for the week. Sunday though I am having my mom and dad over for dinner to celebrate my mom's b-day and my son who will be 3. So you know....cake.

Sonia, are you really 6'5"?? Or did you mean 5'5"? Because if you are 6'5" and 165 pounds we need to feed you more food LOL!

Good morning everyone

Susan, Great job on that next milestone!!!

Sonia I too hope you ment 5'5" and agree with Merissa, we will have to feed you more! My foot seems to be getting better, then it will hae a relapse and hurt again. It is all on the side by the pinky toe, so I just put most of my weight on the big toe side.

Keep at it Merissa, baby steps is what we need to remember. Little accomplishments.

I did well last night, had dinner and a few chips, but declined the popsicle, otter pop and other sweets that DBF ate before bed. YEA me

Welcome Alaina! This is a great group for weight loss (if you couldn't tell by our highest weights...lol). Everyone is so supportive here. We have weigh in on Thursdays, you don't have to post your weight though, just you loss or gain. No cheat wednesdays and a weekly cheerleader to offer support, challenges, words of encouragement...whatever your style. We also talk about other things too, not just weight loss, everyone here are friends! I hope you love it here as much as I do. Oh and there is a website sparkpeople.com where a cake central team has formed. I haven't visited the site too much so I don't have much info on it but other people here have if you have any questions!

Congrats Susan. If I lost 35 lbs I'd be half way to my final goal.

Michelle try to take care of your foot. I twisted or sprained mine 2 months ago and the first month it just seemed I kept twisting or falling funny, walking around Disney World for 3 days straight! It's only been in this last month that I've taken it easy and it is finally starting to feel better.

Sonia...lol. I thought 6' 5" sounded a tad tall!

Connie great ww and the jet below looks really cool!

I am going to spend my day scrubbing my bathrooms and cleaning my kitchen (the terrible cluttered counter) in preparation for my family. Which I had an awful dream last night that the day after my Nana went home from visiting she died. I fell asleep thinking about my friend that just passed so I'm gonna say my dream is from that and nothing more.

Hope everyone has a successful No Cheat Wednesday!

Sorry about your awful dream Casey but I'm going to say b/c you were thinking of your friend before...

Thanks on the cake compliments I appreciate it!

Sonia - my headaches are the same some days (Monday) they are REALLY intense and feel like I'm going to vomit other days like today just annoying.

I had a bad dinner last night (frito pie) and of course had the leftovers for lunch today BUT BUT BUT I did work out for 30 minutes this am first time in literally months since I've done that almost nice to sweat again...

Welcome Alania I hope you find this thread helpful all the ladies that post here are AWESOME and very encouraging!

CONGRATS SUSAN that is SO awesome! 35lbs that one of my KIDS! You are doing FANTASTIC! I'm proud of you keep it up!

Michelle take care of that foot I whine when I stub my toe let alone really hurt it LOL

Yea Susan! I am so happy for your victory. icon_razz.gif Connie, I am so sorry to hear about your headaches. I hope you get a handle on them. Have you seen a chiropracter? My mom was in an accident when I was a kid and the only thing that has helped her headaches is getting adjusted. I mean, find someone worht it because you don't want to go to some back alley bone cracker that isn't going to take the time to do it right.(Been there, Done that)
Welcome Aliana, sorry if I spelled your name wrong. This is really a great thread. Everyone is so caring and understanding. Hope to hear from you soon.

Ok Connie I just had a chance to look at WW, what a hoot!

Alaina welcome and join our happy little family.

Casey I am so afraid it will take months for it to feel better. I try to stay off of it as much as possible.

I believe I am cheerleader this week starting tomorrow so here is the first challange (early for you Susan!):

Think of the one chore that you HATE doing, and do it, but do it well not just fly thru it to get it done!

I can hear all of you groaning, but this will remind you that everything that needs to be done isnt always fun and easy, like starting a new healthy lifestyle. I just has to be done and done well, eventually we will all enjoy it, unlike that chore we HATE to do!

My chore will be cleaning the bathroom.

Michelle

Connie, great WW figure. What an interesting concept...your SIL wanted her in curlers?? Explain, please...

Michelle, I hope your foot heals well. Have you considered swimming? Takes the pressure off but offers good exercise.

Welcome, Alaina! Happy to have you in our happy little cake-weight family!

Merissa...just start over. That's my new mantra. Better than the alternative!

Well, my friends, until about an hour ago it was Friday. I knew it was Friday, I got a psychological lift from knowing that, even though I'm working all weekend, next week, and maybe next weekend. Then I learned it is Thursday. So here's my question...WHO added an extra Thursday into this week? I'm takin' names and kickin' ass...

Welcome Alaina!

Good morning all,

Didn't weigh myself again. I think it is the fear factor.

This walking is getting to be tiresome now. I think it is the route change I am now walking up a hill every morning but the bus I get on I can always get a seat. These drivers will give you whiplash with their jerking of the bus. Not many can actually drive the bus. So I don't like to stand up on the bus. Think I have lost some more inches in my legs. My pant legs seem to be looser.

Anyway, I came in this morning and did 15 wall push ups. Wanted to start slowly but I figured I would start somewhere. I did feel that in my arms.

Susan, it is great to hear that you are up to 35 lbs lost now. Maybe you have at last broken through your plateau.

Connie, I am so sorry to hear that you are still suffering from your headaches. You would really think that someone would have diagnosed them correctly for you by now.

Well, gotta go for now. Work awaits.

I guess for my chore I will do these hearing notices. I don't know why they bother me so much . . .

Have a great day, all!

Charity no, I'm scared of chiropractors I know its silly but since I do have a previous back disease I'm CHICKEN when it comes to anything w/ my back (I don't even pop my own back and freeze like a nut job if it just happens).

Sorry Susan I totally laughed at your extra thursday - the opposite happened to dh last night he was like tomorrow is thursday NO WAY!
Also, my dh and sil have weird sense of humors so the whole WW thing just tickled her like crazy. She wanted WW in curlers and a robe w/ fuzzy slippers flying her invisible jet b/c she forgot the eggs. She just found WW on her day off to be hilarious....

As for the chore that I HATE that would be the bathroom too - UGH I hate cleaning that sucker

Well, I woke up this am w/ my thighs a little sore - which is sad for how little of a workout I did. At the same time though it was good to wake up w/ a little burn going on! LOL

Good morning everyone

I have not worked out since my foot got hurt, have not had the time to get a good strength training routine put together, will do that this weekend and that will be my work out until I can walk with no pain.

I swear Susan I did not add another Thursday to the week. Yesterday was so long I want to know who added more hours to yesterday. I think the same person did this and we can kick butt together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love to swim but I have no pool and really dont know a public pool that would not have tons of people in it now that it is hot. That is one thing that is on my list for my next house.

Great start for they day Karen!!! You should be proud of the extra hill you are walking AND doing the wall push ups when you got there.

Connie I know when I wake up sore from the workout I always ask who said it was good for you if you hurt the next day!!! But then I am always glad for the burn, that means that I am doing something about my body!!!

OK everyone dont forget to do your most hated chore today and do it well!!! I will have another challange either tonight or tomorrow morning.

I'm down 2 or 3 lbs. My eating hasn't been great (suppers and eveinings) but I have been constantly on the go so I suppose that is it.

I already completed your challenge Michelle. I cleaned yesterday for about 8 hours...including both bathrooms which is the chore I hate!

My family gets in today so my house will be nice and clean.

Sorry about the headaches Connie, I hope you get some relief soon.

Well I am off, gotta go babysit my sisters kids. FUN, FUN, FUN!!! Last time I took them to McDonalds for some ice cream and let them play while I read....thinking I may do that again!

IT WASN'T ME, SUSAN!!

Well, I've had so many cakes this week that I'm going crazy! I have one in the oven while I'm working on the next one, then get that one delivered, and straight into decorating the next....and my kids are on school holidays, and I have a son having a birthday tomorrow. So yesterday I had to go do his birthday shopping and organise his party. I haven't done any housework all week, apart from trying to keep up with dishes. I'll have to fulfill that challenge on Monday, Michelle, when all the cakes are done and delivered, and I'll be desparate to get some order in my house!

I'm so desperate for some exercise!!

Wow, thanks everyone for the warm welcome. From what I gather, you all kinda re=evaluate weigh in or measure on Thursday, do your most hated chores on Friday. Did I miss anything else.
Connie, I feel for you, I've been suffering from migraines for about 30 yrs. but after the big M, they've been almost gone. scgriffiths, sounds like you've been working out to me.
Ok, my name is Alaina. I am 49yrs old 5'6" , don't know the weight cause my scale is looney, but I've lost 3" off both waist and hips since the 1st of this month, 1=2 on thighs and upper arms. Eating healthy, and diametrics. Hate the D word, it stresses me out.
Congrates to all. I know its tough doing cakes and being good to our bodies. thumbs_up.gif

Now Alaina, don't get out of control (giggle)!! Our challenge was to do a hated chore THIS WEEK. Our cheerleader, Casey, devised this for us, so don't go thinking we do that every week! Although on second thought, might be a postive thing...hmmm...Nah, often, but not required, the weekly cheerleader will propose a challenge for the week, yours to participate in or not.

Alaina, The things that we do weekly are
Monday, confess (if you wnat to) how you did over the weekend.
Wednesday is no cheat day, what ever that means to you.
Thursday weigh in and tell what you gained, lost, or stayed the same, or your actual weight what ever you are the most comfortable with.

Since I am the cheerleader this week, I like to give daily challanges or every other day challenges to keep things rockin. Yesterdays was to do your most hated chore. Now the challenges dont have to be diet and or excersize related all the time. Sometimes it is just reflection or getting life organized which all of the above and more is part of a healthy life!

Todays challenge is to get in 15 min of some type of work out. Be it running, stairs, weight, cardio, stretch......just something.

Had a bad night ladies, we went out for wings, those are my down fall. Just love the Honey Hots from Native New Yorker! I did however stay away from the beer since I was the DD, had non sweetened ice tea. Does that negate the wings???????? PLEASE!!!!!

Thinkin I may have to go to the Doc for my foot, it seems that the pain now instead of dull all over is sharp in a couple of places, and just to lightly run my finger over those places makes it hurt. UGH I hate this!

Casey= great job on the loss!!! Have fun with your family.

Sonia- you are so busy with cakes and stuff. I think I may try to get a cake done this weekend. I want to try some new techniques. Nothing special just to keep in practice!

Alaina- great job on the inches lost.

Susan- You are too funny! How are things going? I know you have been so busy, hope you are also taking care of yourself!

Ok gotta run ladies, I may post a challenge for the weekend, not sure yet.

Michelle...go to the doctor, you don't want to injure your foot more by walking on it when maybe you shouldn't be. And oops...I forgot YOU'RE our cheerleader this week, not Casey, sorry. Thanks for checking on me, I'm actually feeling a little less tired and I think I"ll be finished with this very long stretch of work in 6-8 more days. This weekend has been the most challenging so far, the poor soldiers we saw today seemed to have gotten the worst of it. They were in the firefigtht 3 wks ago where 9 soldiers in 1 platoon were killed, so it's been so difficult for them. I know I'll just feel better when they're all home safe and sound.

Welcome back Katie!! I'd been wondering about you and how your pregnancy was going.

And welcome, Alaina! I was too caught up in my own world to welcome you last time I posted icon_redface.gificon_redface.gif Congrats on the 3 inches lost, that's fantastic!!

Well, I got all my cakes out of the way by Sunday, but I had every night last week up until 2 or 3am working on them, so I was totally exhausted by the time I was finished. The thing I hate is sometimes I have so many cakes to do that when it's time to do one for my son, I don't have time to do a good enough job... Anyway, so today I slept!! AND I'm faced with almost as many orders this week, and will make a start tonight. I'm just feeling stressed out. I don't know how people do this while being parents and running the house! I wish I was making enough money to employ a housekeeper icon_rolleyes.gif

The good news is I have eaten well the last few days. Haven't had time for exercise yet, though, but will be starting tomorrow when I have a 9am appointment at the gym.
