Glad the diet is going well for everybody. I might be able to start on it in a week or so.

Well, gotta go. I am cleaning out my aquarium. One of the guys is taking it home to his kids later and I want to clean the algy out of it for them.

Connie, happy birthday! I hear you about the Cheescake Factory. Very good but EXPENSIVE. I can't even think of getting the cheesecake. I figure for the price of one piece I can make an entire cake (and eat it).

Cleaning the aquarium is not too bad. It is only a five gallon hexigon. Liteweight plastic with the filter built into the lid. It didn't take very long to clean, either. I was going to take it but decided it would not be practical. Besides, I am about ready to put my salt water aquarium up again.

Glad to hear that all of those crunches are doing something for you.

Hubby is all ready to start an exercise program with me when we get to Florida.

Karen my dh used to have that size tank when we were dating so I know what you are talking about.
I'm glad your dh is feeling well enough to wanting to start working out w/ you when y'all get to FL...

I hear ya on the cheesecake prices what we do is order like 1 or 2 slices and everyone shares - they are big enough and rich enough one person can't (well shouldn't) do an entire piece alone....

My classes are OK, I am just finishing my Business Law class and that was a killer I have just 6 days left then decided to take a break.

My little piggy is healing, I have to wear the little black shoe for another 3 weeks.

Glad to hear you are doing well and good to see you!

Well, it's not my weigh in day, but so far I've lost 3 lb!! I'm very excited!! How are you doing, Shellie, we haven't heard from you????

Sounds like you had a good workout on Saturday, Katie!! Glad your pregnancy is going well.

Alaina, I haven't stuck rigidly to the diet, and I'm losing, so I don't think it would matter too much. I'm about 95% vegetarian, and have replaced all the meat with some other sort of protein.

Been a busy couple of days around here, but I started the diet yesterday and was a pound down this morning, so I'm making progress already! I'm still failing miserably at getting up early to work out. The past 2 days, I have woken up in time and deliberately chosen to sleep another hour. Tomorrow is the day, I WILL get up and work out!!

Happy belated birthday, Connie!

Alaina, you can mix it up a little. I'm a picky eater, so I have to swap things around a lot and it's worked really well for me in the past. I just try to stick with things that are on the diet, even if it's from another day.

Congrats on the losses Sonia and Susan!

Now I have to go chase my little guy back to bed. He just got out of bed to tell me that he would like to try a meatball pizza sometime. The things they think about... icon_confused.gif

Oh geez, I strayed yesterday...that used to be so unusual for me when I started this 8 months ago, but it's not anymore. I was STARVING (never good), had done well all day, went grocery shopping and bought 2 (yes 2, not 1) little bags of M&Ms for a whopping 240 calories each and ate them on the way home. How embarrassing! And each of those little suckers has 33 carbs! So I really blew it. But the good news is, I bought things for Day 1&2 and will start tomorrow. I already had dinner plans for tonight and I knew I wouldn't be eating on the plan because my group is going to someone's home, not a restaurant. Start again. Start over. I've been telling myself this a lot lately.

We have a new Wellness Center on post and while I'm not familiar with all aspects of it, I went for a tour today and signed up for a metabolic test tomorrow. I guess you breathe into something for about 20 minutes, they take readings, then work out a plan for you and tell you how many calories you burn, etc. It will be interesting and may help me get a clue as to why I've come to a standstill.

Connie Happy Belated Birthday! Cheesecake factory...yum. Also your dh's can skates are very cool, congrats on the win!

Merissa your vacation sounds nice, wish we could get some (free) time away....in Florida.

Karen I am so jealous. I was just at St. Pete, it is sooo nice there!

Susan don't worry about the m&m's. Just don't make it a habit (which I know you won't) and you'll be fine. We all have slip ups.

Katie glad your feeling good. The first tri-mester is so tiring!

I haven't been to the grocery store yet so no 8 day diet for me but I have been eating higher protein and lower carbs. And I've been totally ignoring my night time munchies so overall I'm happy with my progress (this week).

I woke up early mon and worked out. Didn't wake up tues...well I did but so did dd so I worked out after preschool. And this morning again with dd so plan to fit in some exercise later.

Hi Ladies.....

Congrats on all of the losses and Susan don't feel so bad you did better than me yesterday!

Thank you again for all the birthday wishes. I had a pretty good day. It rained most the day WAHOO so it wasn't a zillion degrees outside awesome I'm telling ya! My aunt came over took me out to lunch for mexican food Y U M M Y my favorite! I ate entirely tooo much! Then we went out for some Gelato (italian ice cream) OMG Susan I don't know how you are not eating that everyday! SOOOOO yummy and not as heavy as regular ice cream and per the sign in the store is better for you than regular ice cream (wahoo LOL)... Came home and just vegged for a bit, I woke up w/ my head hurting bad instead of a gradual thing so I was laying on the couch. My aunt was on the floor cuddling w/ the kiddos watching a movie and I dozed off so nice. Then dh got home, aunt left and dh took me out for dinner I did a little better had grilled ckn and broccoli then had loaded mashed potatoes OOPS BUT YUM and dh told them it was my bday SO I got 2 scoops of ice cream free. I shared w/ the kids and we didn't finish it still. SO I had ice cream TWICE in one day SOOO bad told you it's my weakness!

today I had the mexican left overs for lunch UGH and still haven't done my crunches. I need to get in gear!

Hey everyone. Wow, it's been a long time since I posted on the thread. I jumped off the wagon unfortunately but I'm back on track now and have lost 20 pounds thus far. Hey got a question for anyone who may know the answer. Quite some time back, I believe that it was on the original thread, someone posted a link to a site that you could sign up to and I'm trying to figure out what site it was. This site has a program where you can actually type in the foods that you eat along with the nutritional info. It was great because you could then go to the program each day and list what you've eaten and if you've already entered that food, it would come up with all the nutritional info and let you know how you did for the day. Does anyone by any chance recall what site this was? I had gone to it and had it saved but when my computer went down, I lost everything. Thanks so much.....

Connie, I hear ya about gelato...nuthin' wrong with it! I have it only about once every 3 months, but it's EVERYWHERE here, as common as gas stations in the States, one on every corner. My most most most favorite kind is pompelmo, which is grapefruit...you cannot believe how good it is!

So I've been meaning to share this recipe for a couple months but always forget when I'm actually on the computer.

It's for greek salad. I love it and probably wouldn't get as many vegetables in if it wasn't for it.

This is the dressing...I never make a full reciped, I just 1/4 it.

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Absolutely-Fabulous-GreekHouse-Dressing/Detail.aspx

How ever much you'd like of

Tomatoes - chunky
Cucumbers - I cut into quarters and then do big slices.
Purple Onion - also chunky
Feta Cheese - crumbled
Kalamata Olives - pitted.

I usually get at least 2 salads out of the dressing and it lasts for for awhile in the fridge once made. I eat it alot!

Susan I am sure it is everywhere there and I'm not sure I would be able to pass it it OMG is it yummy! I had cookies and cream flavor (not sure if that's a real flavor or an american flavor but YUM non the less). My kids get bubble gum LMAO although this last time dd tried raspberry which was good too.

OK so I did 250 crunches this am and the other ab exercises between. But before you get all proud of me I had fudge pecan pie w/ ice cream on it for dessert last night again shared w/ dd, but it was b/c after dealing w/ my dr and pharmacy I didn't get home in time to cook so we went out to a new restuarant and they make all of there stuff there so I HAD to try LOL.... BUT NO MORE DESSERTS UGH I SWEAR DH is trying to fatten me up! You laugh but I'm serious....

My total loss for this week is 3.1 lb. I proved to myself yesterday that I'm definitely an emotional eater! Haven't had a real good week, with financial problems and both vehicles breaking down!! So yesterday I broke my diet..... I'm not feeling TOO guilty though, because I didn't gorge, I just ate small amounts of some things that I shouldn't have eaten....and it was only at meal time - not snacks. I'm back on track today, but am finding I'm reverting back to my old dieting ways (more fruit/vegies, less protein!)

As this weeks cheerleader I think we should state our goals for the week, as we haven't done it lately. So here are mine:

1. STICK WITH IT! I've made a good start and don't want to go backwards again now!

2. Make sure I'm drinking enough water. I started the week really well, but have slackened off a little.

3. EXERCISE....... Mmmmm, I haven't done much at all lately!!

And an exercise challenge::: Let's join Connie in doing crunches over the weekend. Aim for 100 a day at least!

Awesome loss, Sonia!! I didn't do so well, only 1 lb. The diet doesn't seem to be working as well for me this go round...probably because I'm not working out. I will get up in the morning, I HAVE TO!!!
That's my big goal for the week...no matter how busy I get, find time to work out at least 5 times in the next week. And avoid my DD's birthday cake this weekend. I just finished baking...mmmm!

I didn't make it to the scale this morning, so I will post goals for now.

1. Continue exercising, although I didn't today I will not let be another day, then another, then another like usual.

2. Continue with the better eating habits. Although I am not following the diet I have pretty much cut out carbs and upped the protein and it's working I think. I'm eating less and definitely not at night anymore which was a big issue for me.

3. Drink water. I've just started trying to drink 64oz so I'm going to continue with that.

I love new found enthusiasm. Hopefully it lasts more than a couple weeks.

I'll try to remember to weigh in tomorrow.

Lost track of this thread for awhile! Well, I am still at 155 (same as last week). But I think last weekend I put ON a pound or two, and this week I took it back off. It is amazing how much damage you can do in a day or two and it takes the rest of the week to fix it. icon_cry.gif

I have been doing quite well though the last few days. And I think it is getting easier. I did have lasagna last night though. A friend made it for me as a gift. It was really really good. It was very hard to only eat one piece. I filled up the other side of my plate with broccoli.

Glad to hear everyone is doing so well. It is nice when we all have more enthusiasm here.

Morning, all!

My scale is packed somewhere. I am not sure where. No weigh in this week, either. I will be starting over again as soon as we get to Florida.

Over the last couple days I did an awful lot of heavy lifting. I should have had my pedometer on. It probably would have blown up from counting the steps! We are now all out of the house and it is now somebody else's problem. The damp basement, the crumbling retaining wall, and everything!

We are leaving today at 4:30 when I get off work and will be spending the night in a hotel somewhere halfway or so.

I'll check in when I can.

Good morning all

I had my DR apt for my blood draw for Diabetes. According to their scale I lost 1 pound from the last time I was there 3 months ago, so I guess I have not done that badly.

I did get on that scale and it said 215, UGH just hate that!!

Karen I am so excited for you, it is fun, exciting and scary to have a new start somewhere! Drive carefully and check in when you can.

Sonia, awesome job on the loss!!! I need to start on that 8 day eating plan. Great idea on the challenges. I will start those abs tonight, I can do that with my stupid hurt piggy toe!!!

My goals
1. Water!!!

2. Strength training, I finish this class on Monday and am taking a 1 wek break so I should be able to get some kind of routine set up for when I go back to school

3. Start that 8 day meal plan. (do you like that I didnt call it a diet!!!)

Well off to work!

Hello all!!
I was wondering if I could join your thread?

I'll tell you a little about myself: I'm 33, live in Pueblo, CO and desperately need to lose weight. My DH and I just joined a gym and are going every morning at 5 a.m. I would like to lose about 100 lbs but to be more realistic it will be like 60 lbs.

I love love love to bake and love CAKE. However, I am a dreadful decorator but still make lots of cookies with lots of icing and decor.

Anyway in my quest to lose weight I know how helpful it is to have support and was hoping I could jump in with you all.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and hope you all have a great weekend!!
