Welcome, Gina...the more, the merrier!!
How are we all going with our crunches?? I did about 150 today, and varied which type. Alaina, if you have trouble with your back, try this: lay on the floor with hands under your head. Lift your legs up to vertical and lower them again, without letting them touch the floor. Use your abs to help. Do as many as you can handle.
Karen, I hope your moving went well!
Let's kick butt this week, ladies, and kill off some of those fat cells!
I've done about 100 crunched today and I'm surprised at that since dh is home and when he's here I don't get much done.... I hope everyone is having a good weekend mine is nice and wet feeling the rain from Ike all the way up here.
Welcome Gina! Great the Hubby is also aboard, and the gym is a great tool. Doing that together is a bonus!
Sonia, I'll try that. Abs are my main B U L G E! that hasta go!
Connie, hope you don't have too much trouble with Ike. Thats all you need, more humidity. Glad you have that MRI scheduled. Keep that Dr. going til you get some answers.
Raining buckets in MI. Oh well, not much to do in the rain, so got hubby working on that hunny-do list. ![]()
Hey, you guys want to read my latest gripe, check out this thread:
PEOPLE! this one takes the cupCAKE
I fell off the wagon!! Yesterday at DD's birthday party I had pizza, cake, chips and popcorn last night. That's the first time I've had an evening snack in forever, though. I'm back in the saddle today, though. We all have to splurge every once in a while, I guess...
Welcome, Gina! Sonia, I just can't deal with crunches. I know I'm doing them wrong, but I can't do them without hurting my neck one way or my back the other. I do badly need to get back to my workout routine. My back has been worse than ever since I stopped. Now I'm in a catch 22 - my back hurts too bad to work out, but it won't get better until I start working out. UGH. C'mon Aleve!
I fell off the wagon too! We always eat out on a Sunday night, and although I chose a healthy option, I don't feel brilliant about it! I had a plate of vegies, which included 3 deep-fried potatoes and a huge piece of pumpkin. After a week of no carbs, I'm really feeling yuck!! (Also stole a couple of fries off my son's plate)
Anyway, I'm also back on track today and doing well. I was determined to get a long walk in today, but it is pelting with rain, and extremely windy. I have to be careful in windy weather, because we live in the bush and to walk anywhere is risking having tree branches land on my head! So I found a workout on the internet and will post it for you to have a go at too. It may have a few "different" exercises to give you some variety.

Your challenge for Monday is NO SUGAR!
All Ike did was give us a lil much welcomed rain nothing too bad I am WAY north from the coast so no danger there, so nice not being in the upper 90's though I tell you what!
Ya, I'm glad to have the mri FINALLY scheduled/nervous but glad.
No sugar NORMALLY would be a breeze for me (since I don't keep stuff in my house) BUT dh just bought some sweet tea from Golden Chicken and they have YUMMY sweet tea so it might be hard to resist!
Hello Lovlies~
I'm doing a modified version of the low carb, but fell off the wagon this weekend...ouch! However, I'm so happy because at lunch today I walked over to the gym and they're fully open! I can't believe it! It's been since February that they've been partially closed, so I'm hoping to get up and back on the wagon tomorrow morning. I think I'm going to have to come back home to shower and dress, but I think I can do that. I'm just so pleased they're back on track, it was hard to try and work out with the setup they had during construction, which is why I stopped going.
Three months from today is my last day of work, that's hard to believe.
Karen, have you safely arrived?
Gina, welcome aboard! I also have (had) about 100 pounds to lose and am 1/3 of the way there. You'll feel so much better now that you're exercising, I was always surprised how little time it takes to get back on track and feel positive.
It's a ew week. Ladies!
OK, for some reason I can't edit...of course, what I meant to say in my last line was:
It's a NEW week ladies!
Susan I'm glad your gym is now fully functional again that must be a relief...
I haven't done my crunched YET today (they WILL get done) But my lunch was a yogurt light w/ 2 small spoons of grapenut cereal in it (I have to have texture) and some celery w/ ranch
Here is a link to me and my new hair do (I resized it but still wasn't right for my avatar- hmm weird)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/redhare05/IMG_0016-2.jpg
thanks, it is SO short for me but I think I'm really liking it this time I ALMOST feel sexy in it (I know I know you can yell at me all you want ladies everyone else does too)
Connie, it looks great! Very now style And hey, as long as you feel good in your own skin, thats all that matters. BTW, love the Red, my son is a redhead and people always tell me they wish they could get it in a bottle, lol
Connie, your hair looks great, I think it's long enough to be sexy and short enough to easily care for. I always think my hair looks better longer (like my start photo on Sparkpeople) but then when I get it cut and styled, I think it looks so much better! Bouncier, sleeker, more professional.
Alaina I'm working on feeling good in my own skin I never have really and I am trying really hard to. I have though ALWAYS loved my hair color ppl have always been jealous of the shade lol
Susan, yes I know what you mean it's long enough where my dh is still happy (he doesn't like short hair) but short enough where it's not in the way all the time so I feel the need for a ponytail everyday
Love the haircut, Connie!
I'm still not crunching because I'm so bad at it, but I have worked out the past 2 days. I started a different Tae Bo, it's a lot more cardio and it's kicking my butt, but I should get better weight loss results. Finally found a trick to get up early to work out...DH leaves for work an hour before me, so I don't make his lunch at night...then I HAVE to get up early so the poor man can eat! (Heaven forbid he make his own lunch...LOL!)
Ok ladies, it's No-Cheat Wednesday, so let's put all our effort into "not cheating" today!! ![]()

Good morning everyone
I finished my law class and am now on my week break!!! YEA I am go happy.
My kitchen got a much needed deep clean.
I even got to cook dinner for myself last night. I made Greek Chicken Pasta. It was sooo good. Probably not the most low calorie, but I was so happy to have the time to cook!!!
Connie, love the hair! My niece has red hair and is always changing it. She hates her red hair!!
I used to do Tae Bo, I loved it too. It does kick butt!!!
OK off to work, and happy no cheat everyone!!
Michelle - enjoy your week of and congrats on the deep clean in your kitchen I need to do that too. I cleaned today but not a deep clean.
My sil got a job for the next 2 months so I will be babysitting my 4 month old neice whenever my brothers schedule and hers don't mesh well. I will have Haley tomorrow from 6:45am til 4:30 or 5 pm should be fun since all mommy does is hold her.
I haven't gotten my crunches in yet either today but that was b/c I did my cleaning today instead of tomorrow since I'll have Haley I will try to do them once I get home from picking up Tabitha from school.
Michelle- I hear most red heads hate there hair, I'm just one of the few that LOVES my color but I did get a good shade I'm not like carrot top or anything.
Woohoo, down another 3.5 lbs!!!! Total loss of 6.6 since 8 Sept. Still heavier than when I first joined this thread, though, so I still have some work to do!!!!
I thought I had a weekend free of cake making this weekend, but in the last 2 days I've had 3 orders (not much notice!!!!!) so now I'm feeling a bit stressed! 2 are for tomorrow, and I'm still taking my son for his dyslexia treatment, and HAVE to get groceries today, so I'm going to be up all night again I think ![]()

25 Sept - Michelle
2 Oct - Alaina
9 Oct - Shelly
16 Oct - Connie
23 Oct - Karen
30 Oct - Merissa
So it's over to you, Casey...... ![]()
Ok, so after almost 30 years, I started some college coursed today! I'm excited though, one is for culinary/catering, and the other is for small business management. DH said, been along time since he had a college girl, lol. Hey, it can't hurt the cake business is really going to slow, so maybe I can get some insight for other options.
Sonia, congrats of the loss. Good for you. Havn't started that one yet, is it posted somewhere?
Connie, bet a few days on the job and SIL will be breaking your neice of the hold me's.
SUsan, have fun at your New and improved gym
Ok so I did 250 crunches yesterday and 200 today w/ 4 other ab exercises in sets of 8.
My neice isn't here today b/c she's sick, she threw up last night so my brother called me this am to say she's not coming. Not sure if she really threw up or not b/c they seem to think spit up is throw up also. SO who knows really, I think she's just teething. At this rate my sil won't have this job for long she's called in 2 days in a row and this would have been her 4th day to work there so who knows.
Anyway, my mri is tomorrow I'm excited (and a lil nervous), I'll be sure to take pain meds before I go to help me out as much as I can.
Congrats Alaina on your new adventure and hahahaha at your dh that is SOOO something my dh would have said too
Connie, fingers crossed that they figure out what is going on!!! Great job on those crunches. Cant say that I have been doing them. I got out of the habit of working out, hope I can get back soon!!!
Alaina, join the college club. I am getting my Masters now. Thank goodness I have a break this week!
I forgot to weigh in this morning, I will probably wait until next week. I see the foot dr on Thursday, if he gives me the OK to start working out again then I will get back into the mode (hoepfully)
Ok gotta run and do some work
anyone heard from Karen? I hope the move went well!!

Hi everyone. Sorry i have been MIA the last week. I am still plugging along here. Somehow I gained 2 pounds this week. I guess I overate a bit over the weekend, but I figured with my exercise and diet on track the rest of the time I would AT LEAST maintain. It is depressing, but I guess it is just the way it is. It only takes a couple of bad choices to totally derail my week. It is what it is...boo.
I had to skim the last week, so I hope I didnt miss too much. Hope all is well with everyone!
Michelle, I was wondering about Karen also....
Merissa it's ok you'll get back on track I know you will
OK I found a yummy 90 calorie snack thingy... Its from Special K it's call Bliss. I got the Raspberry and it has a chocolate bottom YUMMO... here are the nutritional facts
90 calories
20 fat cal
2g total fat
1g sat fat
0g trans fat
70mg sodium
17g carbs
9g sugar
1g protein
10% Niacin, 10% Vitamin b6, 4% Iron...
Well, I'm down one pound this week. Not bad, but not as good as I had hoped. I'm with you Merissa, I ate terribly over the weekend and it took me all week to recover. It stinks. I guess I'll have to remember that the next time that pizza or cake is calling my name...
Connie, my DD insisted I buy some of those Bliss bars, we have the orange but I haven't tried them yet, I'll have to check them out.
Shellie I say a pound is a pound so good job...
I'm not one for chocolate and orange to be together but the raspberry one was yummy. That is just a personal perference thing my dh loves chocolate and orange together -go figure
Good Morning everyone. Happy Friday to all.
How is everyone doing today.
Susan have you been back to your gym?
I have a party planned this weekend, as always good food there. I will try to be good!
Everyone have a great weekend.
