Okay I struggled with the next challenge but I'm going with being positive.
It's one we've done a few times but I love it. I used to talk to myself about myself sooo negatively and it doesn't help. I feel so much better when I can point out the things I do like about myself so list 3 (physical or personality) things you like about yourself.

1. I'm a good mother, wife, friend.

2. My eyes

3. My hair

So glad the site is back up now!!! Now maybe I'll get my posting notifications and get my dose of cc!
Stared getting shaky there a minute! icon_lol.gif
O.K to do the challenge:

1.I am proud that I have come this far with my weight loss and I know if I can do this much I can complete this and reach my goal healthy weight.
Besides, I got you all to cheer me on and wag a finger if I need it! thumbs_up.gif

2. I am a person who will stand up for myself and if need be others.

3. I am a good Mom and good wife, which to me is most important.

O.K. I see your 3 challenge and I up it to 4 awesome facts about yourselves....I DARE YA! icon_wink.gif

So in the spirit of challenge here's my 4th.
4. I love my hands when I paint my nails and file them. Just makes me feel so much more feminine.

Before any weight loss at 250lbs.

after some weight loss at 129 and now I am 128.

Yay more new people!!!!! thumbs_up.gif
I watch what I eat drink loads of water, if I do drink soda it's diet, crystal light, as much walking as you can do with a 3 year old and almost 2 year old in tow.
Eat no fried foods, no cake, cookies or tastings too! icon_rolleyes.gif

But over all it had to be done because I really wanted to do it for me, my family and that is my best motivator.
Well that and pics like that of me looking like 2 of me instead of 1!!! Put that on your fridge and watch how many times you can turn away from that snack hiding there. thumbs_up.gif

okay, so i have been shying away from the challenge! I know we have done it before, but I am always questioning whether I really think these positive things about myself. But here it goes!

1. I am a good wife and mother. Sometimes I feel like I could do better, but I know my kids are happy and healthy. So I must be doing something right.

2. I think I am pretty attractive if I take some time and put effort into it. My SAHM clothes dont really do me justice LOL!

3. I am a very responsible and trustworthy person. I don't question this!

4. I am good at cake decorating! I finally found my niche. Something I am good at and something I enjoy.

Yes! NO CHEATING TODAY! BTW, I finally threw out that cake I was talking about! So it will be easier for me not to be thinking of it waiting for me.

Tuesday, I think your pictures are great! I don't remember if we have covered this before, but what was the secret to your success? Did you have a plan that you followed?

Hi everyone! I started another thread and put my before pic. But I decided to join here too.
I'm meeting with a nutritionist soon (waiting for the phone call for my appt) I have some liver problems, and need to check with her what I need to cut off to resolve this. I don't want surgery icon_cry.gif
And I'll check with her also if I can come in for a weigh-in every month or so... We don't have WW meetings, or other weight-loss group in my town. And having to stand-up in front of someone and weigh myself, makes me work harder. I tried on-line support groups, have a friend do it with me, but it never worked.... online you can always lie (I know not good!!) and my friends always stopped, got discouraged, left me by myself.... I'm the kind of person that needs support, a lot.... So having to report myself, face to face, with someone that can actually tell me I've been bad or good, makes me want to work harder!
I'm ready to do this!
My first mini-goal is to get down that 200 pounds mark! so the day I'll step on my scale and weigh at 199 you'll hear me scream of happiness from your living room icon_lol.gif
May the biggest loser be with you!

merissa, I totally hear you on the stay at home mom attire.....or maybe lack of attire is a better description. icon_lol.gif

I cannot stress enough that I did not follow a plan. I started off pretty strict to change up my metabolism and body and what it expects me to eat.

I stopped all sodas first as well as no fried foods, I did not eat out at all. I ate no breaded stuff either. I cut way back on portions and upped my veggies a lot too. I ate a lot of raw veggies and fruits, if I cooked them I steamed them to keep from turning them to un-nutritious much...yuck!
I eat a lot of fish, ground turkey, and chicken breast no skin or bone too.
I also stopped all sweets<before I used to cake!>
I made sure every day I drank 10 8 oz. glasses of water. I have to use crystal light for this! I am not a big fan of water by itself.
I started walking 1 mile a day then 2x a day. <usually 5 to 7 times a week.
I took over all the yard work at my house too.

The first 3 months were hardest to me, just the over all change in my habits and making myself cook the good stuff instead of wimping out for quick fast food. icon_rolleyes.gif

I also had to stop my diet for awhile due to during that time I got pregnant with my youngest! So that was a set back but then afterwards I had another reason to look at loosing the weight, BABY FAT!
And not the cute chubby cheeks on my kid either!
More like the flabby jello-giggler look of mommy's thighs and protruding belly rolls!

Man that'll motivate ya....I hated walking and feeling all that moving around me...I felt I got swallowed by a fat me and I was slowly being crowded out!!!!

Pootchie, I hear ya! I will dancing with you when I hit 199! Seems like I've been yo-yo-ing between 3 pounds the last 2 weeks, up and down, up and down, up and down. But I'll weigh in and accurately report tomorrow...I just hope it's on the -3 side rather than the +3! I don't have WW available to me either except online and I'm trying this for now; I love it and feel very supported, I just hope I can motivate myself to stick to it.

I saw Dr Oz on Oprah last night (we get shows 1-2 weeks later here) and he's always so excited and encouraging about weight loss. Did anyone see this one? The one where he showed the experiment that 10 people ate only raw items that are grown (lots of fruits and vegetables) for 2 weeks? They each had to eat 11 pounds of food a day! And they all lost weight, blood pressure and cholesterol levels were down, it was interesting.

I'm going out to eat tonight with my regular Wednesday night group of friends. We eat so much later in Italy, I don't like that so much! But I"ll try to eat well and remember that I have to get on that scale tomorrow morning....

Hello, another newbee here.

Pootchie I followed you over here, but will still post my before pic on the other thread tonight.

So you guys weigh in on Thursdays right?

I have to loose weight in order to stay off of Diabetes medications. I am border line and so far my Dr has let me try with my diet and excersize. I was however just put on hight blood pressure meds about 3 months ago.

I work out every morning on the treadmill walking for 20 minutes, and about 3 times a week I do a work out DVD after work (just started this two weeks ago) Still have not lost anything. I certainly can do better at the eating thing, but this is so hard. I am a food LOVER, and my boyfriend is hispanic so when their family (and big one it is) gets together it is always surrounded by food, and GREAT food! They get together almost every weekend!!! Right now I am craving salt and the point of my craving is green olives. Cant get enough of those buggers right now. Nope not pregnant either, just want them!!!!

Anyway to the challange:

1: I am a very loyal person with friends, family and in my work
2: I believe I have a strong ethics base
3: I am almost always in a good mood, although I do have my days
4: Trying to find something physical I like about my self, used to like my behind, but then it spread and not so endearing anymore.....I do like my smile, it is always there and inviting!

Tomorrow I will post my weight and my measurements.

Hi everyone! I am new to this! I have been following this thread for about a week now but have been kind of afraid to join in. My name is Jen and I am 27 with a 3yr. old and a 10 month old. I have pretty much been overweight my whole life. When I was a senior in high school, I lost about 70 pounds. I had a little more to go but kinda got lost in all of it and thought I could go back to my old ways and gained almost all of it back. Last year I went to Hawaii to get married and before I left I lost 30 pounds and thought that was just the start....then I got pregnant and gained it all back and then some! So in July my MIL and I started again. We watch what we eat (although I never deprive myself of something) I try to do really good thru the week and then on the weekends, if I want something, I will allow myself a smaller portion of it. When we started we started out exercising (I have all kinds of equipment at home...2 treadmills, an eliptical, a cardioglide, a stationary bike, an ablounger, and a bowflex, plus many smaller items.) just about a half hour a day. Now, I exercise for at least 2 hrs up to 3 and a half hours everyday at least 5 days a week. So far I have lost about 27 pounds. I find it easier to weigh in on friday mornings. I am 5'10" and would like to lose at least another 30 pounds. A couple weeks ago I hit a slump and for 2 weeks I didn't lose weight. Since that I have been pushing myself and the last 2 weeks I have lost 8 pounds. My MIL and DH are great supporters but I think this will help me alot too! You all sound so nice and I think this will motivate me even more! thumbs_up.gif

Hi, All! Welcome all newbies! Nice to see some new people around.

Well, I finally went to the doctor and was told sinus infection, ear infection, and slight case of bronchitis. I took yesterday and today off work. I will probably go back tomorrow. I've already worked through the worst of it. All so the other secretary could have her vacation.

Just thought I'd check in. I don't think I'm quite up to doing any challenges. BTW I've already messed up my no-cheat Wednesday. No breakfast this morning and I have a long way to go with water.

Hoping the anti-biotics work soon and I can get back onto my eating plan.

Keep up all the good work, all!

Wow! Welcome everyone. It's so great to see some new people.

A typical week is here:

Weigh in Thurs. You don't have to post your weight if you're not comfortable but a gain or loss.

Confession Mondays. We just come here and talk about what we ate over the weekend.

No Cheat Wednesdays. A reason to be good and hopefully keep us on track throughout the week.

We also have a weekly cheerleader. The cheerleader's job is to try to keep us motivated or offer challenges or really do what you feel like (yell at us boot camp style j/k).

So I leave now with no challenge, no words of encouragement just a battle cry

DIE FAT CELLS, DIE!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not leaving leaving. You know I'll be back!

Since I started here after breakfast I didn't know about no cheat Wednesday. Was hurried for breakfast so had (gasp) pop tarts (gasp)

How is the cheerleader picked? Do you just volunteer or is it a rotation thing.

cool! I love the cheerleading idea. I didn't know about no-cheat wednesday, but I haven't cheated yet, so I'm on! Still doing good!! Woohoo!!
I had a meeting with my dd 6th grade teacher this afternoon. DD had to come with me, so we walked there instead of taking the car: we save fuel for the car, but burn "fuel" on our bodies! That felt good, so back and forth it equals 20 minutes walk.

OMG, I wasn't even thinking earlier when I dug into the nacho's w/ sour cream and salsa. I'm doing horribly =(.

This is it!!! No more mindless snacking. I'm starting a journal tomorrow (I've only been saying that for at least a week now). Along with the journal I'm going back on weight watchers. I have all the stuff + some cookbooks and my sister has some too so it's not like there is a lack of recipes out there.

We're joining the gym soon so the exercise should pick up for me.

I am so over just talking about losing weight, now I am going to make it happen!

My last challenge/thingy is to put a picture of yourself (the biggest one you have and I mean you're biggest body not actual picture size). Keep it there and it will keep you out! - challenge inspired by tuesday!

Hi All~
I was happy to be on the somewhat lower side of my yo-yo-ing when I weighed in this morning...2 pounds down. It sure is fun to change that ticker! I did have pasta last night which I said I was going to stay away from. I was so starving by the time we got to the restaurant, I ordered something quick. But...I didn't have any pre-dinner chips (my friends and I were celebrating a birthday), I didn't drink any wine, and I didn't have tira misu birthday cake, so I feel positive about that. I'd actually packed an orange to take for the pre-dinner celebration but left it in my car and ended up riding with someone else. So I halfway did decent planning and made decent choices, and I'm glad about that. I'm leaving tonight for Paris, returning Sunday. Hopefully I can control my eating and do lots of walking. I promise to faithfully report my weekend eating habits on Monday. I hope everyone has a healthy and encouraging weekend!
