Hey ladies, glad to see everyone is doing well!

Shellie - good luck with your surgery. I hope this one fixes you for good!!!

Welcome newbies!! kwdonlon? Not sure I remembered that right. You'll love it here. Such a great place for support and ideas.

I have been busy, busy, busy. Spent last wed. and half of thurs cleaning my house. Drove up to Seattle on thurs and spent the weekend walking 60 miles. I had such a great time and can't wait to do it again next year. Unfortunately they feed you soooo much weight loss is not an option.

I hope to be good. I like the idea of losing 10 lbs by your birthday. Think I'll set the same goal. My birthday is Nov. 1.

2 years ago I lost 10 pounds early nov. and gained it all back throughout the holidays.

Good to be back!!! Good luck to all.

WOW! Those pix sure are inspirational, Merissa! Thanks! I'm still hanging in there, but I haven't followed through w/ my water quite as well as I'd like to. Today, I'm going to try to get in at least two glasses before I have anything to eat.

Last night I made some Pad Thai w/ Chicken breast. It came out way better than I expected it to thumbs_up.gif Watch out Thai Cafe (my favorite Thai place) icon_razz.gif Just kidding, I could never out beat them but, now I have a quick fix for my Thai cravings...

So, what's everyone doing today? Make sure you are faithful to yourselves and DRINK DRINK DRINK! icon_biggrin.gif

Here is my day:
Just up early and got my laundry started, cleaned the kitchen and got my oldest off on the bus.

Next I will take my 4 year old to preschool and go to the gym!

Then I will come home and make lunch! Healthy of course.

I watched the Biggest Loser last night (new season) and it got me inspired! I think I have decided on a new goal for myself. Until I get below 150 again, NO DESSERTS. Can I do it??????

Hi Ladies! Sorry for the hiatus but I have had an awful sinus infection that has had my head in the clouds in pains and pressure.
I actually forgot my DH needed his long pants and shorts for the weather today, he restores historical homes so sometimes he's outside sometimes inside.
Our weather has been about 55 in morn and 87 at late eve so he has to change.
Poor thing had to take shorts 2 sizes too big and a belt!!!! icon_redface.gif
Wish I had that problem hu? icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh well. He'll live and my yucky is less painful now so I'm on track with my water and some exercise.
Lord knows my house is trashed since I have been sickly.
So exercising will be no prob today, laundry, cleaning baths, mopping floors, vacuuming and errands too top off my list. Not to mention the 3 year old and 1 1/2 year old I am taking with me.

So glad to see you shellie!!!!!! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif
Hope you'll be all fixed this time, I am keeping you and your family in my prayers as well as all of us on here.

well here it is Ladies....weigh in day.
So I finally broke that plateau stage some what and broke down into 129.8! Not a tremendous loss but at Least I was able to break out of the 130s.
Took long enough!
icon_rolleyes.gif

So goals are to continue my water, water, water week for one.
Try to work in an evening and a daytime walk again since temps outside are cooperating right now and my little bits can help mommy walk! icon_lol.gificon_confused.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_wink.gif
Hope this week has been a good one so far and I pray the scale fairy lifts those cells right off ya! thumbs_up.gif [/b]

icon_cry.gif Is all I can say. I am posting my all time high (even though I really don't want to) of 156! Next week will be better though. I just know I can do it. I really need to get below 150 again, that is my first goal.

I really pushed myself at the gym the past couple of days, and for that I am proud of myself.

Goals:
1. Drink water!
2. Follow the eating plan, no cheating this week. No cheating until I am below 150!
3. Keep exercising! I need to push my limits every day.
4. Lose weight this week!

Good morning all! Well, I guess my ticker tape thingy below says my weigh-in...hehehe. Really I am proud of myself for the weight loss (9lbs so far) but I have still been slacking on my water. I need to keep it up so that the water drinking becomes habit. I feel that it is crucial to my weight loss (sooo many other benifits to it as well).

My goals:

1. DRINK WATER!
2. Make myself go for a walk everyday
3. Stop weighing myself daily ( I have OCD about this but I know when the weight loss slows down, it will not be inspirational to continue).

I hope you all are having a great day. And remember, when we fall, the important thing is to get right back up--don't give up! thumbs_up.gif

oh man! That sounds really, really yummy! How long do you bake? That might be a good dessert for dinner tonight. It is kinda crummy here today and so I was thinking of making a "fall" like dinner, maybe beef stew in my crock pot. baked apples would make a terrific dessert! Maybe even with a little sugarfree icecream on top...Of course I said no desserts for awhile, but I think without hte icecream it would be okay. Listen to me get all excited....!

Yeah, recipe exchange sounds good. Let me think of some ideas.

I bake em at 325 until golden brown and bubbly.
You could add oats to the compote type stuff in the apples and make it a little healthier and more satisfying too.
I try to avoid the ice cream because DH always makes ours so it's deff not sugar free or fat free in the slightest! icon_lol.gif

I am making home made veggie soup in my crock pot and I'll bake buttermilk biscuits to eat with that. But I have decided to give up breads, desserts, potatoes, and rice for the next week so we'll see how helpful to my waist that is!

I'll dig up some good fall stick to your ribs not your waist recipes a little later for you guys too! thumbs_up.gif

Hi ladies!
I'm new to CC and I read all through the pages of this post. I think maybe this is the place for me to come and get some support and inspiration. All of you are under 200 though, which makes me nervous. However, I'm on the path of trying to loose the weight that I gained (since I got married and comfortable.. lol).

I'm 5'10"... so height I have.. but I'm 290 as of yesterday. It makes me want to cry, but the whole fact is that my husband always tells me I'm beautiful even when I feel I'm not. He also tells me that I don't look 290 becasue of my height and because I hide it well in a very proportionate way. Unfortunately my tummy is starting to not be proportionate. I have to do something.

Spring of 06 while my hubby and I were dating, I had lost over 50 pounds on the sonoma diet, which was great because it made you eat healthy, not just a fad. I was down to a size 16 (200 lbs which is a good look for me, because of my height) which was what my wedding dress, a little cocktail dress was (we got married at the commissioners office) and I was feeling good. Then I'm not sure what happened. I quit my job to finish my senior year of college, and I became a stay at home wife. All of a sudden just over a year later, I've gained 90 pounds. That fabulous 50 plus 40 more. icon_sad.gif Today is my wedding anniversary, and I cant even get my butt in my wedding cocktail dress. I've been crying most of the morning while my husbands been at work.

I work in a bakery, and when I'm there, I don't snack, I just drink iced tea. If we're about to eat dinner at the bakery when I work nights, I try to have the least about of food and snackage possible. Usually just a small sandwich toasted, and some more iced tea (yay antioxidents!). I limit myself to a cookie a week from there.

I blame most of my weight on stress. This past year has been dreadfully stressful. I can't lie about it because I've probably gone though enough stress to kill someone, and I should have had a heart attack by now, but because of my age, I just have anxiety attacks. A doctor told me that I'll probably continue to have them, because of two things.. stress and my weight.

Now things are starting to settle down, our lives are starting to get more calm, so it's the perfect time to start losing weight. Other than the fact that in two months when Christmas season starts at the bakery, there will be stress again.

I'm not sure what to do, so I figured I'd say hello to all you ladies, and ask if I could be apart of your thursday morning weigh ins. Please?

All are welcome at any time here. We only ask you loose your weight in a healthy way, try to stay positive and let us know if you need anything.
We do weigh in but that is up to you. If you dont want to you dont ever have to.
As far as not being in the 200 category I myself was 250 and I am only 5 foot 3 inches! icon_rolleyes.gifthumbsdown.gif
So I can deff say been there done that to having a lot to loose and needing to loose it.
We are here to support each other, cheer each other on and just be here for each other!

So let me here all you gals say it>>>>>>>>

Welcome to the group YBR! You have made a good decision to be a part of our group!!

Okay cheerleader! I will admit the last time I was cheerleader I was in a little rut and I could have done better. BUT THIS TIME, I am determined!

I know the weekend is coming, but let's try and lay off the goodies. Each time you are faced with a food decision, make the best choice that you can live with. Are you having pizza? Will it be 4 pieces and breadsticks? Or can you be satisfied with just one piece and a salad?

Welcome YBR!!! Glad you decided to join us, this place rocks.

Definitely could use some healthy recipes. Hopefully easy too, I hate prep work when it comes to cooking. The crockpot is the best!

Good luck this week everyone (I'm already off to a bad start but after tonight I should be able to be good).

Good morning loser friends LOL!

Well last night I made the baked apples for dessert! Thanks for the idea Tuesday! okay so I had a tiny bit of the sugar free icecream on top, which really added to it.

I agree, I hate a lot of prep work. Especially with the kids running around. That is why for a few items, I buy them packaged just to make things simpler for me. Bagged lettuced is a big one. I would rarely eat a salad if I had to cut up the lettuce...I know I know. Lazy! I try and stock up when they go on sale. I also really like those Garden Veggie Patties (frozen variety) from morning star farms I think. I cut them up and put them in my salad usually.

I am determined to eat well this weekend.

Hi everyone! Welcome YBRCakes! Let me tell you that we are all not under 200 icon_cry.gif but I am one to not post my weight icon_razz.gif You are wonderful thumbs_up.gif I can totally relate to the stress causing the weight to pile on but I am bound and determined to get it off...for me and for my kids! My ticker tape thingy is a short term goal icon_razz.gif I have a looooong way to go. But I have faith in baby steps, myself, and the help of all these wonderful friends on CC! I've only been here 3 weeks but they have helped immensely!

Merissa, Salad--yes, me too! I'm lazy. I like buying the broccoli slaw and throwing some into my romaine lettuce. Instant salad thumbs_up.gif

I'm going to heed your words about moderation this weekend (I'm visiting my mom and bad things COULD happen). I WILL decide to make good choices thumbs_up.gif

good monday everyone!

How did everyone do this weekend? I did okay for a weekend, not perfect, but not bad.

Okay today's challenge. "wait 30 minutes"

If you are having a craving for something "not so healthy," drink a glass of water and wait 30 minutes. If you still crave it, have a healthier alternative and wait another 30 minutes. If you STILL are thinking about your goodie, then try and just have a small portion to satisfy the urge.

I am going to apply this right now. I have been thinking about some cake in the freezer. I am going to get my water RIGHT NOW!

Hi, all!

Still recovering from my trip. They had a high ragweed pollen alert out all weekend and I am feeling it now. My throat is sore along with my muscles and I've been running a tem off and on.

My weekend went ok. I ate breakfast every day and lunch and dinner, too; but I did have more Coke than I really wanted and not enough water. I didn't want to drink all that water and then travel or be out sightseeing and not know if I could get to a restroom.

I haven't been eating breakfast here like I was, though, now that I am back. I've been feeling pretty miserable and trying to sleep in some.

I did get my gallon of water on the way past the store this morning, though.

welcome back!

Okay, so you know when you have those moments where all of your kids are throwing a fit at the same time while you are trying to do something? For me it was during dinner last night. I could feel my blood pressure rising. Anyway I realize that stress is a trigger for eating for me. so Today's Challenge:

Figure out what your triggers are for over eating and come up with some alternative solutions.

For me the triggers are:
stress, boredom, mindless eating

Solutions:
For stress:
Eat or drink something that I enjoy that is calorie free or low calories. I like my coke zero or sugar free coffee drinks. Maybe if I can get through a challenging day without over eating I can treat myself to a glass of wine in the evening!

For boredom: Get off my behind and do another activity that is incompatible with eating. Play with the kids, go outside, clean etc

For mindless eating:
Keep a food journal, chew gum, do not eat alone, stay out of the kitchen
