No I had it done per doctors recommendation when my youngest was born. I have very difficult pregnancies and had to have c setions with all my children.

So I had alot of scar tissue and tissue damage so hubby and I agreed to have it done when youngest was born.
One of the side effects I have read and been told is increased menstrual cramping and bleeding along with sharp pains when I ovulate.
So sometimes I barely know it's gonna happen and I breeze right through and other times....well let's just say child birth at times seems easier!
icon_lol.gif
But I am starting to feel better after 3 advil and 3 tylenol + 1 aspirin.
That makes it at least bearable and comfortable enough to move around the house and pick up my little ones.,and their socks, shoes, toys, dogs, food, dishes, cake supplies......you get the picture!

2sdae, thanks for the nomination icon_biggrin.gif I read somewhere about increasing fiber and water in your diet to keep yourself full and ahem hem "moving". So that's going to be my goal for this week.

I'm not sure if there are any specifics to the cheerleading icon_redface.gif Could you give me a couple of pointers? icon_smile.gif

For weigh in, (told you all I'm too embarrassed to post) but I did lose two pounds YAY . I need to change my ticker tape thingy...

2sdae, I can relate to the cramping thing. After I had my tubes tied 10 ys. ago, monthleys are HECK icon_evil.gif I never knew what people were talking about with the cramps sooo bad you had to stay in bed; now I do icon_cry.gif So, I hope you're feeling better.

Well, my first cheer-on will be WATER WATER WATER! I'm going to go for water all day and only one non-water drink. How about a glass of water before our meals? icon_rolleyes.gif

well you miss lynda-bob needed no help with your cheering!
We just try to encourage and some how challenge ourselves and others that week.
You did that just fine!

Well the only + thing about the tube tied thing is I have heard similar stories from others too.
icon_eek.gificon_confused.gif
So at least I know it's a typical thing not a sign of something else.

I was considering getting my tubes tied, but I don't think so now. I went through the cramps so bad I couldn't get out of bed, spitting up blood, vomiting, and other nasty side effects when I was young. No thanks! I think I'll talk to my doctor about something else.

I was given a diaphram and that thing hurt so much when I used it that I didn't use it for too long. I think it took three nights sitting up all night being uncomfortable before Hubby and I decided not to use it again.

Anyway, I hope the cramps go away soon for you.

Lynda-bob, water is always a good way to go. Great start at the cheerleading! Congrats on the two pounds!

Hiya from Dallas...I'm here to join your struggle. I'm so glad there's a support group here on CC, since I seem to spend so much time here. I've been reading some of the older posts, and I appreciate everybody's wisdom!

I'm one of those gotta-taste-it-before-it-leaves-the-kitchen girls, so now I'm trying not to cook anything that I can't eat. I don't have kids, so it makes it much easier.

I lost 20 pounds 2 years ago and I gained 30 back. I've lost 10 and I'm now struggling to get the rest off again. Ugh! Hate the rollercoaster!

2sdae: I'm sending you good feeling vibes!

Welcome, kwdonlon! Nice to have you here. There is some good knowledge and support here.

Thursday is weigh in day, so weigh in so you have an actual starting point. You don't have to tell anybody the actual weight if you don't want. I would also jot down measurments. I spent a year losing inches but no weight. Good luck!

I had my tubes tied when my 3rd son was born. I was already having a c-section at the time. I havent experienced any of the problems you are. I hadnt heard of that.

I think the best way to get out of having your tubes tied is to get your DH to get a vasectomy! icon_lol.gif ! It was the deal in our house, but since I ended up needing a C-section, I decided it would be easier.

Welcome new members! Where have some of our regulars been? Lisa, katie, casey, amber? I know shellie is taking a little break from us. Oh we have all fallen off the wagon at one time or another, but eventually most of us come back!

Hi kwdonlon and Katie!

It's been a tough morning, but I've been good. I went to the grocery and bought a farm-load of produce thumbs_up.gif

2sdae, I don't know if you know or not, but when you had your tubes tied, was it done where they just laser them or actually cut and tied old-fashioned style? I had to have c-sections w/ both my kids and had fibroids removed (same time as my first born was born icon_surprised.gif ) but then had the tubal done right there on the table after dd was born. The doctor told me he tied the tubes (old-way) I don't remember why icon_rolleyes.gif I was just wondering if this made any difference.

Merissa, do you know how your tubal was done?

Cheer:

WATER WATER WATER

He told me they cut them, they tie them, and they burn them! Ack, I felt a bit mutilated! I think even when they say they "tie" them I would assume they are still cut in some fashion. but I dont really know for sure. But I never experienced any problems. I mean I had a c section at the same time, so I dont think there was any additional pain during recovery.

Cut, tie AND Burn icon_eek.gif Holy Moly! He was thorough icon_lol.gif I think lots of times now, they just "laser" them so they are being cut and burned at the same time (no tying). But it sounds like he did BOTH for you; talk about making double sure thumbs_up.gif Well, in any case, I'm glad you never had any problems...

I used to have an ideal cycle when I was a teen: No cramps, light flow, every 26 days like clockwork (even down to the time of evening icon_rolleyes.gif ). Now, at times the cycles are worse than labor pains (just like 2sdae said).

I was clipped, snipped and burned back! I too kinda felt mutilated after wards.
But since I was having c-sections with my last also it was easier for me to have my tubes done. icon_rolleyes.gif
yeah, easier!

I dont know what the factors are specifically for the awful cramps and discomfort.
But I have even noticed my moods seem more severe and varied too.

Welcome back you "old loosers" and hi all you newer ones!

Good Morning Ladies! Are we all up and exercising or doing chores? icon_razz.gif

2sdae, you are the early bird. I'm up cleaning my house, doing laundry, and getting ready to have a garage sale. Wish me luck w/ that one icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm going to go drink my water right now; Let's all have a glass and toast to each other (clink icon_wink.gif ).

I feel a little wobbly today (Aunt Flo just came in icon_cry.gif ), but I'll do my darndest to get an extra walk in in case I do anything BAD today.
Let's promise ourselves that even if we do fall, we'll keep it to a minimum ie. one serving of ___ (fill in blank w/ sinful food of your choice.) hehehe

oh Yah and WATER WATER WATER HOOSAH! thumbs_up.gif

Good Sunday Morning to anyone out there. Hope we are all doing ok. I myself didn't get my exercise in the conventional way but worked hard on my garage sale (for nothing BTW icon_razz.gif )... I'll just donate the unsold to my charity (Rainbow house).

Anyway, even though I ate what I wanted yesterday, I didn't over do it and I'm mighty proud of that thumbs_up.gif

I need to continue with this water thing (thanks for the initial inspiration everybody). It keeps me full and I also feel wonderful! My skin is looking so good, too icon_smile.gif

I'm going for a walk today before it rains. What are we all doing today, Ladies?

Hello hello! thumbs_up.gif
Good sunday to all!
I got up early went to the grocer's and got some good stuff. Lots of fresh fruits and very lean cut meats.
Need to work on the veggies though, the selection wasn't so hot this morn.
I got in my water and some exercise but I got in a much, much needed nap.
I didn't realize how much I needed some sleep and just rest.
icon_biggrin.gif
I feel a lot better today than I have. So that's positive for sure.

lynda-bob when I first started drinking my water I saw a significant improvement in my skin and energy, I was dehydrating myself with caffeine and didn't even know it. icon_eek.gif

So suck in them tummies and stand straight as you kick some fat cell patootie today!!!!!!!!!!! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

Good morning, all! Happy Monday (yeah, right)! icon_cry.gif

Three more days until I am off to Chicago! icon_biggrin.gif Got my hair cut on Saturday and must've walked about 20 miles (exaggeration, probably more like 10). Also got shopping. I got the size 6 pants but the top has to be an eight, still. Now to keep motivated to not gain back all the weight. I nver want to see size 14 again.

I joined another walking club, the neighborhood walking club by where I work. I want to step up my walking (no pun intended). My vitamins fell by the wayside again this weekend, but I have been being good about my breakfast, which seems to be making a world of difference in my energy level.

Well, gotta go. Work becons. Have a good day, all!

I feel so good (despite being a little hungry icon_razz.gif ). I need to get in my water and walking so that I can stay strong thumbs_up.gif

I hope all of you are doing well, too! Is everyone drinking their water?

I was also wondering when it is that I should pick a new cheerleader? Is it today?

I also wanted to say THANK YOU to this forum and all of you; I feel like I'm not doing this alone and I think that you all have made all the difference in my motivation level! party.gificon_biggrin.gif

Well I think I picked up the cake, more that I put it down this weekend icon_redface.gif ! We had a neighborhood block party...lots of food. But I think the summer parties are officially over. Soon we will be moving into halloween candy, thanksgiving, christmas icon_cry.gif ! I so have no will power.

In december will will be celebrating our 1 year club anniversary right? So I am determined to weigh LESS than when we started last year. Gosh that is terrible!!! I am worried I might weigh MORE!

anyway, I had a good day though. I got up and to the gym at 6 am. I ate healthy meals.

Hello Ladies!! I haven't stopped by in forever and I haven't posted in longer! I am still being careful about my food choices, not to much avail, but I'm trying.
I'm having surgery on my back again in 2 weeks, so after that I will be able to put the focus back on my weight. I'll also be able to stop most of the meds, so that will be a big help. I swear, I think my docs pick my meds especially to help me gain weight.
Thanks for still being here as my inspiration and I will look forward to being back full time in a month or so!
