That's sooo funny! The only reason I mentioned a specific brand was becasue there really is a big difference between the seasoned and unseasoned. The unseasoned tastes fine, but it tastes like turkey. The seasoned tastes more like hamburger. Plus it is browner in color so the kiddos didnt even notice. Even my BIL didnt notice last weekend until we told him! But if you bite into a white hamburger, you know it's not hamburger! Or at least you start hoping it's not hamburger.

O.K. sorry I missed all of yesterday. I was so busy trying to tort and fill and crumb coat a 6.9.12 inch petal cake and keep my almost 3 year old and almost 2 year old comfortable as they both have chicken pox some how!!!!
What makes it worse is my 14 year old and my DH have never had chicken pox!!!!!!!! Actually neither have I, but someone's gotta tend to them!

I am up to my eyeballs in calamine lotion and children's ibuprofen not to mention trying to keep itchiness to a minimum.

But I am drinking my water and watching my food choices. I also have been trying to walk alot and swim at night when kids go to bed..actually this has been really nice to do with DH by ourselves. thumbs_up.gif

So let's keep those chins up and thighs on the move!

Chicken pox! Well around here there have been a lot of cases, even with the kids who have had the vaccine. They are talking like they are going to have to get booster shots now. Well...sounds like fun! LOL!

I would be happy to do the cheerleading. Do you want me to do all next week too, or just finish up for you this week?

My MIL is in this weight loss group and they have weekly meeting. Everyone throws a food into a hat and someone draws and it is the food that the group is not allowed to have for the week. If they do they have to throw a $1 in the pot for each time they eat it. So I thought we could play with some minor modifications. Since we cant very well do money, how about the current cheerleader picks the food and the consequence to eating it.

so for the rest of this week I am choosing: ANYTHING FRIED. This means: chips, fries, chicken nuggets, you get the idea. The consequence for doing so is: 100 ABDOMINAL CRUNCHES!!

Good luck!

Good idea, Merissa!!

2sdae, my kids had chicken pox a couple of years ago, and the chemist told me they've now decided that calomine lotion scars. She sold me something for burns, and it worked really well!

Well, I'm getting all my exercise in this week, but haven't stuck to my eating plan very well......I MUST TRY HARDER TOMORROW......

Something for burns you say....hhhhmmmm, like aloe maybe?
I have hydrocortizone cream and that is helpful but my almost 2 year old keeps thinking it looks like mommy's nilla icing as she puts it! icon_rolleyes.gif
No fried foods........
icon_cry.gif ok. I will do this....no Mc.D's for the kids...even though it is a easy lunch....... icon_redface.gif I know shame on me.
But I can do the other fried foods no problem. thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

Oh my gosh, chicken pox?! I had it when I was in 2nd grade, but neither of my kids have had it. I don't think any of their friends have had it yet either. I know DS had the vaccine, but I don't remember if DD did. I know they can still get it though. Better now than as an adult.

No fried foods, eh? I can do that! I did have french fries last Friday, but I think I've been ok since then. I just keep snacking too much on things like soft pretzels and my mom's leftover birthday cake icon_redface.gif I'm supposed to be taking my kids to Friendly's today with a friend after we do the "meet the teacher" thing at school. I guess I'll just get a diet coke & watch the kids slurp up their ice cream icon_cry.gif

omg...I've missed so much.

Good challenge Merissa. I could definitely stay away from fried foods but I could also use those crunches icon_lol.gif

2sdae, sorry you're dealing with chicken pox. Can't be fun thumbsdown.gif Hope you don't get any!!!

So I didn't believe the scale at my fil house. I figured different scale different result but the one at my bil house says the exact same thing. Is it possible to lose 6 lbs in 1 week?!?! Especially being on vacation. I have an electronic scale they both have the kind with the dial...do you think that makes a difference?

We're driving to ohio tomorrow so I don't know if I'll be able to access a computer through the weekend so I'll weigh in now. Down 6 lbs to 185...I just might meet my 10lb goal sooner than I thought. thumbs_up.gificon_razz.gificon_razz.gifthumbs_up.gif

Good luck ladies and stay away from those fried foods!!!!!!!!

Well I took the kids to mcdonalds yesterday...on my way home from the gym LOL! But I just get a salad when I go there now. They are pretty good actually. Though not eating any of their fries is really the challenge.

Sorry to hear about the chicken pox 2sdae. I never had to deal with them. My DD was in the hospital when she got them and was taken from her private room to the children's ward before they realized she had them. Gave the entire children's ward the chicken pox.

Fried foods won't be a problem for me. The only things I eat fried are the occasional scramble egg and stir fries (I suppose those count?) I don't even like french fies and I have tried to stay away from fried chicken, which I only have every couple months.

I will have to let DH know about this challenge. He is the one who usually gets home first and he needs to know that I am not to have anything fried. Although the 100 crunches wouldn't hurt me. icon_wink.gif

Casey, it is possible you lost 6 pounds, but I wouldn't get discouraged if my scale at home says I didn't. If you are getting in some activity you are probably losing some anyway. thumbs_up.gif

no stir fries dont count..I mean like deep fried....that smell that you smell outside of restaurants (especially fast food ones) is the type of "fried" I had in mind! Okay so I already have to do my crunches! LOL! It has been rainy and gloomy here for a few days now and the kids are getting squirrelly. So I took them to the gym with me and then met my mom at the mall for lunch. I got a salad, but then I sampled a few fries from the kid plate. A deal is a deal so crunches here I come!

So how's every body's "NO CHEAT WED" GOING?
I'm doing ok on my food choices and water. Not so hot on walking in this 100+ weather we're still having here. icon_eek.gif
Way too hot for me, even our pool water is starting to feel too warm. More like bath water.
I made it through Merissa's challenge so far but I have shopping to do today and post office runs and just running all over town period!
Those are my weak days, I just feel so exhausted by time I do all the errands and come back home with a 3 & 2 year old!
That's usually when we hit the pizza or fast food places.

Well, I hope everyone has a spectacular wed and remember........

No cheat Wednesday? How do I keep missing this? Not that I am cheating anyway.

I am doing well with Merissa's challenge. I never really had been much for fried foods like that. I did tell hubby about the challenge this week and he decided to tell me IN DETAIL how he made the chicken breast that he left in the refrigerator for me. I am so glad I can still have stir fries, though.

Well, I guess no Coke for lunch since it is no cheat Wednesday. But I probably wouldn't get one anyway. I think I've finally whipped that habit where I want to have a Coke every day. Maybe every three or four days at most.

I still haven't opened my water yet for today, though; and I am slipping with my breakfast againl

Well made it back in record time! No fit throwing or fights either!!!! I think the girls were just glad I took them out of the house. Can't go far or out much with youngest's health issues in the heat.

I did break down a little and eat 3 bites of cakes I had left over from the care bear cake....the MOM absolutely insisted she bring by 6 slices yesterday after they cut it. icon_biggrin.gif

I will admit it was good but just as soon as I did eat that bite I didn't really want it any more. It was just the thought I wanted it, I almost talked myself into eating it because "I had already taken a bite!"
But I resisted and thought to myself, "I don't even want this, why is it in my mouth, yuck!"
I spit that bite out and threw that cake out! thumbs_up.gif

I am deff gaining strength and inspiration through you guys and hope I help some of you too.

Collectively WE CAN DO THIS!!!! We CAN get healthy and fit. After all, isn't that your goal????
If not, it should be! icon_wink.gif

Weigh in this morning. I lost a miniscule amount of weight, according to my digital scale. It said down .2. Missed the 10 pounds by about 8 pounds.

I did get the tape measure out and lost an inch around my waist in the last two months. thumbs_up.gif I am getting closer to the real goal.

The problem is that it is "that time of the month" and I feel so bloated and worn out. It's probably raised my weight, too. icon_cry.gif Well, what can you do? Next week will be better.

Goals for this next week:

Drink my water (didn't do so well this week for some reason)

Eat breakfast (haven't done this since Saturday)

Take my vitamins (slipped on this one, too, this week)

well, I knew it would happen. I gained 1.5 pounds. But I knew it was coming with the stress this week. Between kids having chicken pox, which has turned out to be a light case for both of little ones and the funeral and the birthday cake. icon_rolleyes.gif
Guess I actually ought to be thankful it wasn't more.

So this next week I am focusing on water, keeping up my good choices and seeing if we can't get a better schedule for exercise going.

But I feel refreshed and up beat about revamping my focus more on health and not the #s right now.

So let's go girls!!!!!!!!!!!! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

Good morning. I don't know how I missed all of the posts yesterday. Anyway I weighted 154 this morning. i really dont know if that is a gain or loss since last week I was too chicken to weigh in. I am not very happy about the 154...at all!

Same goals as always for this week. water, exercise and stick to the diet. I really need to figure out a way to get fired up again!! I did watch oprah the other day (re run I am sure) where they had that dr. Oz guy on talking about your heart. He brought in all these hearts with various levels of plaque, calcium deposits and narrowed arteries. How 50% of women die of cardio vascular disease! I decided I need to think of a healthy lifestyle not only for my looks, but for my HEALTH.

Glad that you all did so well on my fried food challenge! Now my question is do you want me to remain the cheerleader since I started on Tuesday or appoint someone new? You guys tell me, it doesnt matter either way.

In my opinion merissa you said it helps to keep you motivated so you take it and run girl!!!!!! thumbs_up.gif

We are all doing this to loose weight but we all need to be doing it to be a healthy weight.
So I'll throw this out, go on line or a trusted book and find out exactly what your healthy weight is for you and be realistic with yourself.
I want to be 115-120 lbs. Is that realistic for me? No.
Realistic is 125-130. That's were I can eat and be happy without starving myself or junking up on caffeine to keep me going.
That is were my weight naturally falls.
So I guess it's hard but I have to give up my "ideal" self and body because my "ideal" is just not acceptable to my body.
Now my reality is waiting for me to get over my delusions and come on over to the "living my life" side instead of "what the heck did I just eat, can I have that?" side.
I need to relax and know, food is not an enemy but a fuel.
So how much fuel do I need?
You wouldn't let your fuel gauge on your car be off to were you had to guess how much you had and how much do you need would you? No, of course not.
So let's treat our bodies as well as our cars at least!
You can buy a new car model, you can't buy a new body! <well not all of it anyway!!!!! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif [/i]

springlakecake Cake Central Cake Decorator Profile

I totally agree about being realistic. I think I am still at a "normal" weight, however I am at the top end! So while I really want to weigh 130-135, probably the best goal is 135-140. I think that would be acceptable to me.

Okay since I will remain the cheerleader for this week, I will make up another "forbidden food" This is going to be tough ladies....

The cake food group is now the new challenge. So this includes anything from cake, to cupcakes, brownies, cheesecake, and cakeballs. Anything "cake like." For every time you eat these items you must push yourself an extra 15 minutes in exercise.

This will be tough for me, because I know I will likely eat cake this weekend. I have a wedding to go to saturday and a birthday party on Sunday. (I am making the cake for sunday, so I know I will probably try it)

Good luck!

Ok. Cake. That won't be easy for me but I will do it. I have to look up a healthy weight for me, but my weight isn't going down my size is.

I have to check what a healthy size is. I don't know if it is my ideal, either.

Glad to have you as cheerleader for the next week, merissa.
