Thanks, it's nothing compared to the 60 I'll be walking in Sept....just training.

It was actually pretty good. Made it in 3hrs and escaped blisters, most importantly burned 800 calories!

Alright halfway through the weekend (I keep thinking it's Friday). I was trying to come up with some great challenge to help us through but can't so I'm going to go with something familiar. Write down everything you eat. It's the weekend so we tend to relax on everything...housework, eating habits. Before you know it you've had half a bag of chips, a handful of m&m's and who knows what else.

Tuesday good luck with your bbq, hope you haven't run yourself ragged.

Amber where are you, I'm about to hunt you down. You to Shelly, hope everything is alright!
Anyone else missing?!?!...I'll find you too!

I'm getting out of my car wash (fund-raiser) tomorrow so have decided to go for another 10 mile walk. Hopefully I can get my butt out of bed again!

Good luck to all, hope you have/had a good weekend!

Hi everyone. May I join your losing club????? My name is Sonia, I am 5'6 and I weigh 70kgs (I think that's around 150lbs or so). I've put on 10kgs in the past 12 months and need to lose some of it before we go on a family holiday in a few weeks!! I've tried many diets and I only last 4 or 5 days and I start eating what I shouldn't again! I can lose weight really easily when I'm determined, but I've found it a lot harder since I've had kids, I think because I'm stuck at home with the pantry not far away!!

My goals for this week: only eat fruit/raw vegies between meals (love raw carrots, so that's a bonus!), drink heaps of water, no eating after 7pm.

This weekend nearly whooped me completely! All the food prep, cleaning, yard work and frustrations paid off though. All our guests and my family had a good time and one of my best friends in from out of town helped me set up, break down and pack away. So today it's almost unrecognizable as the place that had all that food, people and noise.

I actually surprised myself by doing very well on my food choices and I didn't eat too much either! That is a first for me....at a BBQ! thumbs_up.gif
So today I will be working on that water and exercising to get this week off right!
Welcome all and have a great Monday.

Why is it sooo hard to take off the weight and sooo easy to put it on. It just doesnt seem fair. I want to cry icon_cry.gif ! Dont worry, I am not giving up though!

Anywho , sounds like everyone is still fighting the good fight and keeping a positive attitude about it. I have one hint about the fruits and veggis challenge. One Salad and One smoothie a day and your more than half way there thumbs_up.gif

Good afternoon, all. Welcome, scgriffiths!

My weekend went alright. I ate breakfast both days and had my vitamins. I also got some exercise working in the garden and did quite a bit of walking on Saturday. I think I sweated out at least three pounds this morning walking to work. It was awfully humid out this morning.

I think I got all of my servings in of veggies and my clothes were looser when I put them on on Saturday. Maybe I'll be able to get rid of this weight yet.

Welcome scgriffiths!!! Glad you'd like to join us.

Good job Tuesday on surviving your bbq!!!

My weekend was ok. But yesterday was terrible. We're moving soon so I packed up some stuff in my garage to bring to my sisters for a garage sale. Being there all day and being busy we ended up ordering pizza for dinner. Oh well, it's a new day!

Well, I'll be back later with a challenge or something. Can't think of anything right now.

Hi again everyone! I haven't done as well as I hoped this week. Haven't lost a thing since I joined you on Monday, but at least I haven't put on!! I'm starting to get my garden dug up ready for spring, so I've had a bit of exercise this week doing that. (The weather has been absolutely shocking, so I haven't ventured out the gate for any walks! icon_cry.gif )

Just wondering.....how much have you guys lost since you started this thread???

I completely forgot to weigh in this morning, probably because I had no idea what day it was! I've been so busy this week with repair men, car issues, and getting ready for school, that I have been royally confused icon_rolleyes.gif I don't think I had a terrible week, but I did snack too much. I'll try to remember to weigh in tomorrow and see what the damage is.

Hi there...okay don't get scared off...but I have actually gained a pound since we started in December icon_redface.gif ! I'll let everyone speak for themselves, but I dont think many of us have actually lost much weight. I think Lisa (bluehen) has lost quite a bit if I remember. Heck, at least we arent gaining a lot of weight LOL! I had lost about 8 pounds at one point and gained it back. I think we have all gone through our ups and downs, weightwise and emotionally.

Anyway i am weighing in at 153, which is a 1 pound gain since last week. And today was my target 10 pound loss day. I was supposed to weight 144 today. So I missed the goal by 9 pounds. I really wanted to show everyone I could do it!! okay, but I am not giving up! I am going to pick a new target day of September 13 to weigh 143. I am picking that day because it is 5 weeks away and I think 2 pound a week is reasonable.

As far as goals...I did exercise 4 times and did both weights and cardio.
I think I have been pretty good on my water, not sure if I met it or not though. I have been eating pretty well, with a few slip ups.

New goals:
Exercise 5 times this week (include both wts and cardio)
Drink 64 ounces water daily.
Continue my diet plan.
Long term goal to weigh 143 by 9/13.

I've lost about 17 pounds since we started our little "club." At one point I had lost 20, but that didn't last long icon_redface.gif Right now I'm looking to lose another 13, for a total of 30 pounds lost. I seem to be able to do really well for one week, then I have a relapse & gain back whatever I just lost icon_mad.gif But I'm still trying!

Well, weigh in day today. I weighed in at 157, almost a pound loss. Only 8 more to go in the next two weeks.

I started the club on April 13 and weighed in at 159, which means I lost 2 pounds since April. Not a good total since we started the 10 pound club about three weeks ago and I have lost almost two pounds since then. Of course, I was up over 160 there for a while. So I have actually gained and lost more than two pounds since I started.

I am having the hardest time losing pounds. I think I've gone down another size since starting but all of the fat is converting to muscle so the pounds are not coming off. I am going to have to go clothes shopping really soon. I JUST WANT MY STOMACH TO FLATTEN OUT SOME!

Goals for this week:

1) Water--Been doing great with that one. I have my bottle sitting on my desk and have all of my water in before I leave work for the day.

2) Buy some good food. I need to get some breakfast foods and some snacks that I can eat while at my desk at work.

3) Make sure to eat breakfast before leaving the house. I've been doing good with this one, also. I have had breakfast every day since Monday. Weekends are the hard days. I get too busy to eat anything. I have to work on that.

4) Fruits and Veggies--Been doing pretty well with that one, too. At least the veggies part.

5) GO TO THE GYM! Hubby got the extra $300 they shorted from his check this pay and we should be able to have the transportation to the gym. If I had my choice I would go every day. Hubby isn't going to hear of that, though.

Well, my new goal is a size 6 before September 14. That is Stacy's graduation from Basic Training and we are going to Chicago to attend. I would like to be into a good size by then.

Well, that's enough about me for one time. Have to start work now.

well I have gained and lost around 15 lbs. Now that's an up and down o/o!
But I am currently at 131.5 so that's a 1/2lb. loss this week. But in last 2 weeks I have lost another 1/2 inch off my waist and 1 in off my hips. So I know some of the fat is being burned and muscles are building. Since I have been doing the yard work all summer with 1 exception, I HAVE noticed a deff difference in my endurance. My walks havent been so regular as we have been having 102 degree temps with a heat index of 108 to 110! I cant take my youngest outside in that weather with her asthma. But we have been swimming after dinner around 730 or 8 to get some outside time.
My fav thing about the club on here has been talking with and gaining strength from all the wonderful ladies on here. We help support and encourage each other every day. No group weigh ins, no chastisements or judgments either. Just help with sanity and it helps to see you are not alone.
I have fought back from an extreme amount of weight to were I am now alone and it was hard and long. But I feel excepted and held accountable for reasonable goals I set. So to continue my fight my goals are as:

1. keep up the water.
2. try to get out more exercising..weather permitted.
3. keep better hold on my snacking...BBQ left overs must be thrown out TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

So welcome all and you know the drill girls......

Hey ladies, I don't think I weighed in last week but I'm down 3 more lbs since the last time I did get on the scale. So a total of 7lbs towards my 10. I am a little worried about my big 10lb weigh in as I've done some calendar counting and guess what I'm do to get for my Birthday. Some times it's good to be a woman and sometimes...no thank you.
218 is my current weight. I still haven't upped my exercise from my 2 mile walks in the evening but apparently not sitting around on the computer has helped immensly. Probably keeps the boredome munchies away. I managed to find an old picture where I was about the size of my goal (Size 8 -135). I stuck it to the fridge for motivation. My niece commented on how 80's I looked (Hello it was the 90's) and every time my DH passes it he shakes his head and says, "I'm so old" (icon_confused.gif what's that supposed to mean?) But I look at it and think, 'wow I'm hot' icon_cool.gif so there it stays to keep those happy thoughts a coming.

Well I think I'm off to purchase some new work out clothes, if that can't inspire me, I don't know what will. icon_lol.gif

Those fruits and veggies have worked for me!!! I've lost 2.5 lbs since last thurs. So now I am 10lbs away from my 10lb goal icon_lol.gificon_cry.gificon_lol.gif

Since I've been here (Jan.) I've lost 10. I had lost more but gained weight when I went home for a week and then camping.

It will be nice when we're visiting dh family in tn. cuz we'll have babysitters and I can walk (if it's not too hot). I really do need to train more for my 60 mile walk though.

I must apologize for flaking the last half of my cheerleading responsibilities, the week got really busy and my focus has been elsewhere. I'm handing over the reigns to our newbie...scgriffiths!!!

Goals are as follows

1. Water - I have my good days and bad, I need to have more good days!

2. Try not to eat too much crap - I have family in town and it's hard to be good with bad influences!!!

3. Exercise - Not sure about that one, I have family in town, ds b-day coming up and getting ready to endure a 6 hr flight with a 5yo and 2yo (it's the 2yo I'm worried about).

4. Definitely continue with the fruits and vegetables, they've been working so far!!!

Good Luck this week to everyone!!!!

Excuse me while I rant.....
So I go looking for some work out clothes, mostly pants as all the waist bands in mine are so warn out it's actually Elastic not cotton. Of course nothing in the store resembling what I want, but I found some cute PJ's, which I also need desperately so all is not lost.

We get home and I make us lunch. Resisted the urge to stop and grab something (YAY me!) Each child has requested exactly what they want, both different but I make it anyway. Finally I sit down to my lunch (Top Raman... icon_redface.gif I know I know but it was a wierd craving) Well littlest boy says, "ooh yum can I have some?" I got 3 bites before he managed to finish them off. icon_confused.gif

So fine not the best lunch choice, back to the kitchen I go and make myself a wiser, turkey sandwich. Without fail I sit down and Older boy comes up, "ooh yum can I have half?" icon_eek.gif

Lord save me is it any wonder I have taken to eating alone in the kitchen, sneaking food from the family? My husband isn't any better, claiming, "it tastes better off your plate." Uuurrrggghhh icon_mad.gificon_mad.gif

Okay better now. Obviously lunch wasn't in the cards for me today so...I'm making a cup of tea and hiding in my room with a book for a little bit.

'lo gals! I swear, its like my children sit together and plot ways to keep me so busy I only get to read a handful of messages a day! icon_mad.gif

So, my 10 pound date is next Friday, and I believe I still have 9 lbs to lose to meet that goal... tapedshut.gificon_cry.gif It is my own fault. I decided to try the Mermaid Bakery Yellow Cake and Chocolate Syrup Frosting recipes on here, since DH's fave it yellow cake, and I couldn't stop eating it! I think I'm addicted to cake icon_rolleyes.gif ! So last week I went up a pound thumbsdown.gif . This weekend we took the kiddos to a cabin in the mountains, and I know I went a bit overboard with the chips... I just love those Szechuan Pringles chips, and DH bought bags and bags of Hot Fries, another weakness... icon_mad.gificon_evil.gif Oh well. I've done better this week, more water, keeping my calorie log and all, but I just might have to push my deadline back a week or two. Gotta see what the scale says tomorrow morning.

On the bright side, I did manage to do some exercise in last week, some Pilates and Yoga! Haven't done it this week though thumbsdown.gif , it's been hot and humid here, so the living room where the TV, DVD, and space to do it all in is terribly uncomfortable, and we only have a window unit in the kitchen/dining room/office area.

I'm sad I missed last week, it seems like the challenges were good! I like the fruits and veggies one! That one should become a permanent daily challenge! thumbs_up.gif

Welcome scgriffiths! As to your question, as of last Friday I've lost 7 pounds. I'm hoping that is the number that goes up tomorrow morning. icon_smile.gif

Hey I just wanted to send a big warm hug and kiss to my wife who is a member of this forum (jes7447) and you can see her photos of her awsome cakes. I wanted to mention that even though I am a dude, I try to watch what I eat and my wife has been so GREAT about not making me feel like I have to eat her cakes. I admire them like artwork, although when I do slip up and have too much it is always worth it, her stuff is DELICIOUS. I even eat her basic frosting by ITSELF. But usually I try to be "good" plus she often makes me stuff that is low-fat and low in calories and sugar-free, ET CETERA and it is still delicious.

Thanks HON! You are so sweet and Talented!! Hope you read this!
