Okay girls let's give something a thought for a moment here. As I was pulling the pound of butter out of the fridge yesturday it dawned on me hey this is what A POUND feels like. So I grabbed another. Now I got two pounds in my hand thinking OMG this is how much weight I could be taking off of me each week!!! Kinda helps put things into perspective. We all have butter in our fridge so every time we are tempted to eat something we know we shouldnt I think we should grab that butter in one hand and the temptation by the other and ask ourselves which one we'd REALLY prefer. (shhh, i know which one, but lets just pretend , ok)
Sorry 2sdae wasn't trying to sound like I was singling anybody out, just your post about the fridge reminded me of how my kids thought I was bonkers for playing in the fridge comparing all my butter to weight yesturday. icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif

yeah really I should grab a pound of butter when I am tempted. Good idea!

Is anyone else here suffering from diet fatigue?? I feel like I am always either actively trying to loose weight or at least thinking about it. I feeling like I am constantly saying..."okay, starting......now.....!" Grr. I feel like I am such a downer lately! I want to get excited about this again, the way I was when we started this club. Anybody have any suggestions?

Merissa I know what you're talking about. That's why I don't like ww, I always feel like I'm counting points, weighing and measuring my food.

Losing weight is kind of like decorating a cake. You sometimes get to that point where everything sucks and is going wrong and you just want to throw it at the wall but you don't because the end result is sooo worth it! Unfortunately losing weight takes a little longer but think how good it will feel when you finally get to that point. You're worth it!

I don't know about you but I'm am sick of not being comfortable in my own skin!

THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I'VE FELT. Like everything revolved around what I was/wasn't going to eat and when I was going to exercise. I don't think I've totally gotten back on the horse but I went out a couple weeks ago and bought some new clothes. The budget is tight but I bought nicer t-shirts and everything fits in my current size and every day I've been going a little above and beyond in my beauty regimen. Jewelry and hair that isn't always in a lopsided pony tail, lip gloss, things like that. I just feel better. Like I've taken the focus off of weight and more onto taking care of me. Do something special for yourself, it'll help thumbs_up.gif

That is so funny! I just recently decided it was time for me to do something for me and I signed up for Wilton 1. I am totally beyond it so far, but i hope to learna few pointers and tips until I get to the more advanced classes. It felt so good to be sitting there by myself with no little leeches or projects around.

I even went to the grocery store by myself today! I went to deliver a cake to my work and actually hung out for a while and had a diet soda while I waited on my boss to come by to pay me.
Then I went to the grocery store and got to get groceries BY MYSELF!!! It was so nice to be able to concentrate on what I was buying. I took like 3 hours for myself today and it was AWSOME!

So, i don't get it. Why do I sometimes get and sometimes don't get e-mails saying there are new message on here???

Oh! I posted my first pillow cake (aka as my first fondant covered cake...icon_smile.gif ) Check it out!!

I spent a ridiculous amount of time on DS's Mario cake last night and I learned two things... I CAN make a cake without tasting ANYTHING!! Also, it is possible to run your p.s. through the food processor instead of sifting. I ended up using six lbs, so it was MUCH easier!! I'll be posting the pic later on, ya'll watch for it, I have to say, I'm totally proud of it, I think it is by far the best I've done. More importantly, DS thinks it's the coolest cake ever and he's already making up stories about the characters on the cake!!
On dieting matters, I'm doing much better with my water, but DH still seems convinced that we need to eat lots of greasy food. I'll start cooking again next week and it will be a challenge, I can't bend down to put anything in the oven, so I'll be doing everything on stove top. Maybe I should pull out the old' crock pot and roast some chicken, that's always yummy and healthy.

I have just returned from the Chocolate Festival, and I ate A LOT! But it was soooo good. The best part is that DD won 2nd place for kid's cookies!!! She was so excited and got a big red ribbon to wear icon_biggrin.gif

The diet - no, wait - the eating modification program begins again tomorrow! I'd better get on the treadmill before the newly digested fat cells start sticking to my thighs icon_rolleyes.gif

Nooooo!!!! Put down that fork and step away from the cake! I just need to tell myself the same thing - tonight I made a chocolate chip cake, because that's what DS wants for his bday party this weekend & I needed to try out a recipe first. I made a CChip cake a few weeks ago but didn't like it, so of course I needed to try this one out before I served it at a party to other people. I didn't decorate it or anything so it's sitting in a rubbermaid container cut up into chunks (so it would fit). I don't know what to do with it - I hate to throw it out because that's so wasteful, but I don't want to keep it because I know I'll eat like the whole thing icon_redface.gif
AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

P.S. Your Mario cake is great!

Thanks for the compliment Lisa. DH asked me how much I would charge for a cake like that, I told him I'd have to charge at least $200 for me to make minimum wage, I spent so darn much time making those figures! But anything for my little guy icon_smile.gif

Well, DH and DD are digging into the cake, so maybe I can get them to eat it all. Oddly enough, DS, who I made the cake for, doesn't want any! He's not much of a sweets eater. Maybe that's why we can count his ribs...

Shellie, that is one great cake ! I love it!

As for the diet (ie eating modification...i like that or my weight reduction program) I have NOT been doing well. Last time I suggested someone come to michigan and slap some sense into me, no one one signed up and things have been going down hill. I had some cake and some mcDonalds this weekend. I want to get back on the right track and get fired up about it again. Less than 3 weeks until my vacation! Yikes! I did make it to the gym this morning, but I really didnt want to go, I am glad I did now though.

Okay lets get fired up again everyone!! We are starting to lose our spark here! Let's show those fat cells who's boss!!

Well, I have new motivation for exercise. A friend called last night and asked if I'd like to start walking with her and her kids (her DD and mine are close friends.) So as soon as I recover enough, I'll have a walking buddy who will keep me off my butt!
Still can't get rid of this cake! My mom would happily take some, but she's got a bit of a weight problem, too and my dad is diabetic, so he outright forbade me to give them anymore! icon_eek.gif
I've decided to spend more time practicing fondant modeling to keep my hands busy. The Mario figures came out better than I could have hoped, so I want to work on my people and animals. And there's no way I'm going to want to taste it!
Let's be strong ladies! It's a new week and we can kick those fat cells butt!!!

I've been having another bad week - too much chocolate & cake icon_redface.gif I can only hope to have maintained by Thursday. Every morning I tell myself it's a new day, but every day something comes along to tempt me. And then I eat it! I'm making DS's cake on Friday (for Sat. party) & NFSC's on Saturday for another event on Sunday. I'm hoping that once this weekend is over I'll be able to get myself back on track.

Tuesday I'm so Excited for you. I got the baby itch and we got a puppy. LOL baby would have been less work. We aren't having any more either, Labor took too much out of DH to chance for a girl. AND the thought of three boys scared the life out of me.
Yay for you. I can just picture you with one of those jogging strollers pushing two little ones up a hill icon_lol.gif

I learned something last night. It's not illegal to throw away cake. icon_surprised.gif I pitched about half a cake after catching myself nibbling on it all afternoon and afterwards nobody came by with handcuffs and a fork insisting I eat it out of the garbage icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif Who knew?!! icon_razz.gif

Welcome Jelligirl! Don't feel you can't come here because you're not on a plan. When I came here I wasn't really doing anything but being here got me motivated. It's a great group of ladies and the support is awesome!

Congratulations Tuesday! That is great news. Too bad you're so far away I'm getting rid of my double stroller (ds is too big and heavy) and getting a single. All those kids will certainly keep you on you toes though, you should burn enough calories just keeping after them =D

I haven't been doing terrible eating wise but the exercise thing stinks. I'm planning on walking today, let's see if it happens. I really thought I'd lose by thurs. but I think I'll just maintain.

okay okay okay. Another week that I didnt really stick to my goals. Unfortunately I am up at least a pound. i dont really remember what I was last week but I was 147.8 today. Arrrgg!! Now i only have 2 weeks until vacation. Guess I wont be sporting a new bikini!! FOCUS!

Goals:
1. Do SBD and stop cheating. Just do it!
2. Exercise 5 days (wt lift and cardio, idealy 3 sessions of each)
3. Drink 64 ounces of water daily

Going to another bday party and the birthday girl requested macaroni and cheese! Not sure that is a diet food! Also the big chocolate cake I am bringing! At least I can leave that one there.
