I've been really curious about those fried green beans...maybe we'll give them a try while DH has that deep fryer rolling. I have always heard, that while deep fried food is obviously not the healthiest choice, if your oil is good and hot, the food will not absorb much fat.
Now, my sis and BIL will literally deep fry ANYTHING. Candy bars, brownies, oreos...but they're both tiny, so I guess they can afford to do it!!

NO NO NO fried nothing ya'll !! Come on now we are slipping. Die fat cells die is our motto right?? We cant give them the upper hand. We gotta think fruits and salads and soup and veggies and summertime bikinis.
Funny how I'm thinking about summer and I got 3 inches of snow in my yard right now. But seriously it is right around the corner sneaking up on us.

I think the quote I found for today is appropriate. Are you ready:

When you get to the end of your rope tie a knot and hang on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a hard thing we are all trying to accomplish here. Just because we slip every now and again doesnt mean we should just throw in the towel and say well I've blown it I might as well start over tomorrow. Forget tomorrow start over right then and there in that moment.

Ok girls here I am with my pom poms screaming lets go ladies we can do this!! Oh and my mega phone yelling at those fat cells to:

DIE FAT CELLS DIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow Christine - you go girl. I was about to chime in on my deep fryer but I'll back away slowly. My man's more a grill guy any way. Well unless he can have Pizza or Chinese food. icon_razz.gif

No Cheat Wednesday - let's see I'm actually off to a good start I may try and stick this one out.

That's so funny about the deep fryer. We got one as a wedding gift back in the day and it was like I slapped my husband right in the face when I took it directly back to the store. I married myself a genetically thin southern boy who knew nothing outside of deep frying. He's a recovered fry-a-holic, now he grills anything that will stay still long enough to get on that barbeque!

It's been awhile since I've visited with all my weight loss friends, it has been ugly busy at work and at home so this is the first chance I had. Hope everyone is staying positive today and I'll check in with you all tomorrow.

This a bit off topic but I need advice from my club friends. I took a PT decorating job at the restaurant where I wait tables. The other decorator has been there 5 years and so "she's the boss"! Anyways, just from my first 2 days of training with the women who I am replacing, I have noticed that the "boss" is very competitive and will work fast to get all the orders and display cakes done while I'm doing something else, like making buttercream. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever be able to decorate or just be a gopher!! How would you handle this??

O.K. I got the baking shakes and had to bake a cake for my friend's 29th birthday which is today! So I made her fav colors. Lemon yellow lemon dream cake and for the first time I made Buttercream dream icing and I am filling the cake with this and raspberries. Then I think I'll make the buttercream dream icing pink which is her other fav color. I used my oval pans from course 2 since I haven't used them yet. We didn't have to use them for our last cake in course 2. So I thought I'd do a few firsts and then give it to our friends who are going to see her! She lives in chicago so I won't see the cake long before I send it off. YAY!!! Practice and I get rid of it quick so no eating it!!!!! icon_biggrin.gifthumbs_up.gifbirthday.gifbirthday.gifbirthday.gif Now have you all had the buttercream dream icing yet? OOOHHHH, MY icon_eek.gif it's that good.

Well, first don't give her the impression you noticed she is "competing". Let her see you are just doing your job, do your best & do what you have the capibilities to do. Just not in a showy or look at what I can do kinda way. When she relaxes as you have been there in that position she'll calm down when she senses no "I'm going to take your job" kinda vibe. Prolly just nervous to see you have skills too. thumbs_up.gif

Sorry guys, hope my post didnt sound too harsh. We go to the beach the first week in july and last year I just remember sitting there ticked off at myself thinking man I know I could look better than this. I was so concerned about my weight that I couldnt really enjoy myself there with my kids ya know. Hubby has his 20 year reunion coming up and then we have several weddings to go to and I just feel so much pressure to really get focused. I hate that the kids are home eating toaster strudle and I gotta eat oatmeal!! I know tomorrow when I step on the scale it will be worth it but today it's driving me nuts.

No not harsh at all. That's what we're here for, to keep each other on track. And some times we all get on a roll, drooling over the "evil" food pleasures in life and we need some one to slap us back in line. That's what the Cheer Leader is supposed to do. Everyone takes a turn finding strength when the rest of us get side tracked.

This form of communication can be a little tricky, there's no voice inflection or smirky smiles when your just teasing someone. icon_razz.gificon_biggrin.gificon_lol.gif Well I guess there are, in a way thumbs_up.gif

So...I was BAD today. I had a PAP appointment early this morning. Ever since I had a very BAD experience at that sort of Dr., those sort of appointments sort of make me nervous. Have I mentioned that my Dr. is next an IHOP? Maybe I should. I was VERY BAD today.

Shellie, I only talk bad about tanning salons because no matter what I do I am corpse white. I went every day for 2 months, my senior year, trying to brown up for my Prom dress and all I did was turn yellow. My sister on the other hand looks like the tropicana girl year round. icon_mad.gif So unfair.

Figured out today that some of the medication I'm taking for inflammation in my lungs is Prednazone (sp?) I guess some where in the deep recesses of my brain I knew that was a steroid but it just hadn't clicked. Anyway I was so relieved. You weren't kidding about the hunger, I was starting to think I was pregnant again (surgically impossible) Thank heavens I've only got 2 days left.

Nelleadlog, my Lil' sis works at an IHOP. I have to constantly turn down invites to go visit her there. Toooo toooo tempting.

Well back to the drawing board for me.

1. water, water, water.
2. back to my 3 miles daily jogging/walking.
3.NO MORE STUPID SNACKING!!!!!!!!

Christine, I was kinda thinking that you are the best cheerleader I've seen! Oh, and I do Weight Watchers too. I stared it when i was nursing because it's the only diet I could do. I really like it and I feel so healthy when I follow their plan. I don't go to meetings, though. Maybe I should...

I haven't been getting my reminder e-mails, either! What's up with that?? I have been very busy, too and we are once again looking for a job for my hubby.

Well, I somehow lost those 3 pounds I gained last week and am back down to 164. I tried to be good, but I wasn't really and I totally didn't do well with my water.

Shellie, I am so glad to hear that you are doing well and in less pain...especially with the drugs!!

Guess what! I started Wilton Class 1...don't laugh. I have to take their basic classes before I can take the more fun stuff! Any way, thank you so much Golda for helping me do this!!!

Alrighty, girls. It's a new week. We've got our WI out of the way. LET'S DO THIS!!!! Let's ALL try to have a great WI next week, at least maintain!

So I guess I'll dust and vacuum and then take my 2 year old out for 1 of our 1 mile walks. Poor little thing, she makes it through the 1 mile but no more! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif So I have been divising a plan to walk my 1 mile x3 a day to get in my 3 miles. But I am GOING TO DO THIS!!!! Well I am down a little this week to 145.8. I think I am ready for some boot camp though! You know drill sargeant type! I need to get my booty back into gear. I need to get fired up because I want to loose 5 pounds for my vacation...thats in only 3 weeks! It has taken me 3 months to loose 5 pounds! I really need to focus. I did well on the exercise and I am really finding it enjoyable right now. Not so good on the water and just so so on the diet.

New goals:
1. South beach diet phase one. No cheating except a small piece of cake saturday for mil birthday
2. Water-64 ounces daily!
3. Exercise-3 sessions wt lifting and 3 cardio
4. no more excuses! Let's do this!

I was 193.5 this morning. I don't know how. I've been eating ok and walke 3 miles once. My plan is to walk that after dropping ds off at school, dd can be a pain though so maybe I'll try 1 mile at a time like 2sdae.

GOALS...

1. Work on the water - did so so last week
2. Weight lift some more
3. Try really hard not to eat alot of cake at my nieces birthday Sat.

Alright, I'm geared to have an execellent week. So far they've only been okay. I'm going home in 2 weeks and I'd really like to lose some weight. Last time, even though I had gained weight everyone is like "oh you look good, you lost weight" so now I know they're lying and just saying that. Most my family is overweight I think they're just used to saying that to be nice to everyone =D

I'm using my get out of WI card today. Everything is tight and I really don't need any more depressing news in the diet department. BUT I did do the fat percentage thing on my scale. I closed my eyes while it ran up my weight icon_redface.gif I was at 49% around Christmas and am now at 46%

I don't have a swimsuit from last year. It was falling apart so in hopes I would be able to buy a new smaller one I tossed it. I do have a lovely picture my older sister took of me in it, maybe I'll get it out and stick it on the fridge.

DS's Family b-day party is this weekend. All sorts of cooking, cleaning and cake to do but I'll be too busy to eat - Right!! icon_razz.gif

Nice going Christine & Monika! I didn't do as badly as I felt last week. Today I weighed in at 152, down 1 pound from last week. Only 2 pounds to go to reach my initial goal & then I'll set another one.

I am only setting one goal this week because I've done pretty well on the others - NO MINDLESS SNACKING!!!! I haven't had any trouble getting on the treadmill or drinking my water, but I have totally gotten back into my snacking habits. Of course I'm still giving myself this Saturday off for the Chocolate Festival icon_biggrin.gif

Gotta go get on that treadmill!!!

I can't believe it's already 3:30 and I'm just now checking in. Things are crazy around, I have a bunch of openings that I'm trying to fill and nobody can pass the preemployment testing. I'm begining to think that everyone looking for a job in Michigan is either on drugs or a criminal!

Enough of that, I weighed a half pound less this week which is fine by me. I don't think I exercised once and on top of that, I'm expecting my "visitor". Next week should be better. So, I am at 265 and I only have five weeks until my cruise. I hope to lose 10 pounds by then so I must get and stay motivated.

I just started DS's Mario Bros. cake for his party tomorrow. Luckily, all the meds have kind of killed my sweet tooth, so I should be able to get through it with no tasting.
Off topic, I was watching Good Eats last night and Alton Brown referred to putting something in the food processor instead of sifting it. Has anyone ever tried this with powdered sugar? Sure would go a lot quicker!
