$45 for plastic??? That is so crazy!!! My bulb wasn't expensive just had to be special ordered - aggravating!! I feel so bad for your neighbor's - at least the kids- certainly not the adults. That's a shame.

I like your new signature Mon. Termite I dont think you should change your signatureno one knows what mine means either

My signature is a song lyric but now I see that some of it is wrong.
Will go fix it now.

Bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere, i've looked at cloud that way.
But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things i would have done but clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions i recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

Yep, you'd better believe I'd be in that judges or social workers or whoever's face EVERY single day until I got my kid back. A month and a half? You know what those kids go through in those homes? When I was applying to work in one (Polinski Children's Center) the questions were could you deal with threats on your life and well being? Can you deal with gang wars between the children? Can you deal with drugs and violence? Can you keep calm while a child is screaming in your face, profanities, threats, spitting at you, hitting you? Without resorting to violence yourself?

Happy Friday!
The doc appt. went ok. They did do his well baby today and just kind of checked him out. No shots needed....yay! They are sending him to a hearing specialist and speech. He is 18 months and has no words except momma and dadda. They said he should have 8-12 words by now. The doc told me it could be nothing, but just incase. The doc and I also disagreed about my ds still being rear facing in a car seat, but all the reasearch I've done says its safer. I told him to give me some info and I would consider moving him forward facing. He didn't have any. The doc is a very close family friend, so I'm sure I'll hear from him soon. icon_biggrin.gif

Monica-I get so mad at people who treat their kids like they are dispensable (sp). My co-worker is still trying to find a way to take care of her dgd. I bought her some clothes from ebay and gave her some shoes. She was so happy to have clothes for her.

Roxxx-I hope your dn gets better soon. He is in my prayers.

Julie-I hope you enjoyed your salad. I thought about you when I was ordering happy meals for the kids. icon_redface.gif

From what I have read if they can still fit without their feet being flat against the back seat... it is safer. But if they can press their feet against the seat the could seriously damage their knees and hips in the event of an accident. As long as the seat is rated for rear facing to his weight it is good because it supports their head and neck more.

I am passionate about car seats....sorry. It is amazing to me how many people dont get how important they are! icon_cry.gif

ITA! I was so shocked that my ped. was telling me different. He is short for his age, so we have no problems with him touching the seat. If I turn him now, he risks internal decapitation. My dh doesn't understand either, we fight about car seats all the time.

Where is Janette today???

Her stuff always seems too hoity toity to me. The blue cheese and heirloom tomatoes and capers and grape leaves and clams and leeks and lamb and achovies and ... I'm a meat and potatoes type of girl. Though funny thing, I'm on her site right now and the recipes she has on there look SO good. I'm going to try the Tequila Lime Chicken. Maybe I just catch the wrong shows. It was a baked egg omelet. She heated up some butter and something in an oven dish, put the eggs in, topped with some herbs and broiled it. I would have to pop my yokes. DH would love it.

DD has missed the potty THREE times today! icon_cry.gificon_confused.gificon_sad.gificon_mad.giftapedshut.gif

I was different, as soon as my daughter fit the standards for the larger, front seat--around it went! I hated that carrier! I couldn't lift it for the life of me. Plus we got one of those cool last until your kids don't need a booster seats, so as soon as the infant seat was out, the "permanent" one went in. I also hated the belt that had to go around/on top of her when she was in the rear facing.
