I have a rule, I don't answer my door. If you didn't call first, oh well. I'm always in my pj's.

Janette, Here's the kicker. He called several times before coming over but I knew it was him so I didn't answer the phone. Hubby was already sleeping. He had the nerve to come, knock on my sons window and tell him to open the door for him. Yes, Julie. Please pray for him (to go away.)

I just want him to go away now. (Yes! He's still here) He stresses me out because he has a big drinking problem and I don't appreciate the influence he has on hubby.

You see my hubby had a drinking problem for many years. He still drinks but it's not like it was 6 years ago. icon_mad.gif
I don't want to go thru that again. It was a very stressful time for me and our marriage. We almost divorced.
We're good now and have been since we "communicate" more.

Sorry for dumping on you gals. I don't really have much of a life outside of my kids, work, home and CC. It really helps me to be here with people that share the same interests with me.

Okay, I'm back. My hubs is in the middle of a Naruto marathon, so I can stay a while. icon_smile.gif I am working on uploading my latest cakes, ordering pizza, conferring with my bro about him paying for the car he bought from us (and that we still owe the bank for) and checking my email.
And I have to go potty. icon_smile.gif

Nikki, I love the tap cake. I do have the name right, right?

Yes, Satin Ice is yummy on cake. Barely anyone removed the fondant last night. icon_smile.gif Nice after you worked on it so hard. I like fondant work more than buttercream cakes because of the detail you can get and I hate mixing colors in icing!

Loops,
That's not dumping on us, thats confiding in us. I am glad that we are here to support you. I am glad you shared your troubles with us and I will pray for you and for CIL to go away he REALLY has SOME nerve, but booze will do that to you. Cant believe he knocked on your sons window!!!!! Continue communicating with DH let him know how out of line you think CILs midnight visits was. I hope he is not planning to move in that would be an awful situation.

Welcome back Janette PLEASE PLEASE cant I stay in the group
I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday I have a cake to ice now.

Your not dumping I'm sure we have all been there one time or another. I sure have had my turn. You can choose your friends but you can't choose your family and they are the ones you usally want to get away from.

Have you ever stood up to the cousin and tell him that he's ruining your life? You need to tell that buzzard to cry in his beer somewhere else. icon_redface.gif

What nerve for him to knock on your son's window. I wish I was there. I wouldn't care if he was 6'5 and 300lbs, I would teach him some manners. There are some real jerks out there.

I hope everyone comes back tomorrow. I miss them. icon_lol.gif

I thought I put pics with my last post but it didn't work. icon_sad.gif

My daughter called she says she like the cake. But, I know her, it was just ok. I wasn't there so I couldn't see her reaction.

She wanted pink so I ordered the Satin Ice pink Fondant. Boy, oh boy, was it pink. icon_surprised.gif

When we covered the first tier it tore and I couldn't fix it so we had to take it off. Then I didn't have enough Fondant. I just happened to have 5lb of white extra so I mixed it. It lighten it up some. When you look at my pics you can see it was "pink".

Kick him in the head icon_evil.gif

We have a neighbor like that at the moment. My hubs let him borrow some DVD's one day, now we're the family's blockbuster. I mean, even another family member I hadn't met pretty much let himself in my house to get another DVD. "We're returning these three!" I think they're pretty much through them, so hopefully it'll be over soon. The other day he showed up saying he was moving because CPS told him that his son was not allowed to live there with his mom (the kid's grandma--they mooch off her) They're all a bunch of idiot potheads. He's decided to take the easy route and give the boy back to his mom, whom CPS took the child from in the first place because she was medically neglecting him. I mean, for the court to award this dad custody, even though he was saying he didn't want it, I'd hate to see how bad the mom is. But he's decided to give him back, "his wife has their OTHER son to take care of."

Hey Monica... that cake is cool... thumbs_up.gif If I made one like that I am sure it would topple over!!!
icon_mad.gif I feel your pain about your neighbor. Our neighbor moved our and is allowing her son and no good grandson live there (rent free I am sure) She was a really good neighbor but her son not so much! There seems to be an awful lot of activity over there with a ton of cars in and out all of the time. To boot they had a rather large dog that they allowed to run loose despite the area leash laws. He had a dispute with another of our neighbors about this dog terrorizing her cats and possibly having killed one. This did not go over well either him epically when animal control came knocking!!! My DH and I even came home to find one of our cats up a tree in the front yd. Seems the dog was out again and had him up there. Later the dog was in our back yd and had the poor cat trapped under our deck. A few weeks later another of our cats came home SHOT in the hind quarters (22 caliber bullet went all the way through him making a total of 4 holes in the little guy!) Because the cat didnt come home until 5:15 PM all the vets here were closed!!! We had to take him to an emergency vet 45 min away (had class in same town that night so I was going there anyway) I did not plan on the emergency Vet bill though!!!! People can just be total airheads shooting a gun in this close proximity to people and their homes and children and pets! My cat was the 2nd shot the 1st person whos cat was shot did not report it because she didnt know you werent suppose to do that!!! (Airhead syndrome) we are now up to three cats in the area shot thats just the ones we know about no telling how many hes killed and disposed of the evidence!!!!

What a looser!!! judge.gif I realize that theyre tons of people who dont like cats, but my cat (I am sure) has never strewn his garbage from his trashcan every Sunday night for a month!!! I cant say the same of his dog! I am praying that they will move soon.

icon_redface.gif WOW now Im venting and it wasnt even about cake what a surprise!!!

On to a happier subject. I couldn't wait to use my airbrush. I didn't have enough time to decorate my cake so I just used a white sheet of paper off my printer. see attached. I know I need work but it's cool. I'll do anything for cake. thumbs_up.gif

Monica, your cake is just awesome. I don't know if I would be able to do that. How did you keep it from collapsing.
Absolutely stunning!!! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

I just popped in real quick.

Julie, I'm not being funny, I would do more to that man then kick him in the head.

I have a BIL that shoots cats with a BB gun that come in his yard. He is a total Butt anyway. That story is awful.

You need to march over there and tell him the next time you see his dog in your yard you are going to kick it in the head. Now, I'm kidding.

We paid $500 to find out our cat had less than a week to live. But, I would have sold my house to save him. That was three yrs. ago. Two weeks ago we spent another $500 to find out our dog has kidney failure but they don't know how long she has.

Tomorrow I will try to make you guys laugh.

Goodnight.

hEY i WAS WONDERING, IF i WERE TO TRY TO SELL ONE OF MY cINDERELLA CAKES HOW MUCH SHOULD i CHARGE? iT WAS A 14" 2 LAYER ROUND CAKE. (Oops had caps on) I can make the ball of either cake or a cake dummy keepsake. There are many hours in it and because I have only been at this since Feb I wouldn't begin to know what to charge. Just wondering.

Julie,
I have to be honest with you, I've never sold a cake but I would charge $100+ for that cake. You need to charge for your labor hours + supplies. Fondant isnt cheap.

Anyone else here to offer their input?

Janette sorry to hear about the run of bad luck you had with your pets... that really is too bad.
Loops, I haven't sold one either... and around here if I were to tell someone that I wanted $50.00 for it they would all look at me like I'd grown a second head!!! I live in a VERY small town, but I know that it is worth the money... just the time it takes me to clean up the mess I make in my kitchen is worth $50.00!!!! icon_lol.gifdunce.gif i JUST WOULDN'T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN COMING UP WITH A PRICE....

then we're going to have to get the input from someone closer to your part of town. I'm sorry I'm not much help but I do feel that your cake is worth $100+.

I'm so excited about my kopykake. I can't wait. I will be using it in a couple of weeks for my nephews graduation cake. Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Janette,
I am also very sorry to hear about your pets. Do you think it was due to tainted dog food that has been in the news for several weeks now?

My dog passed away 2 years ago when we moved to our new home. He became home sick and depressed and never recoverd. We miss him alot.
