Weight this week is 210, down .5. At least it's something. I've increased my water intake and pretty much eliminated the Diet Pepsi even though my DH brought one home for me, I just put it in the pantry and ignored it. I started wearing a pedometer to work and I generally walk a little over 7 miles during my shift! That in addition to the 4 flights of stairs 3 times a night, you'd think I'd be skinny.

Great job on the losses everyone!!!!

Ooops! I guess I should have stayed quiet on that one. icon_razz.gif But I did learn more about the procedure since I had to look it up. Learn something new every day right?

Hi everyone,

I have had a pretty full week this week, I still weigh 178 but I can see that I have lost weight around my face and hands. I got my engagement ring back on a couple of days ago. I haven't had it on since I was about 7 months pregnant. So I am pretty happy with that!

I am still breast feeding so I am hoping that when I stop in a couple of months that I will be able to loose more weight. So many people have said that when your breast feeding you loose weight faster but I have only gained weight or stayed the same. I am not on a "diet" at all, I am just trying to loose weight by exercising and eating healthy foods.

About half of us haven't weighed in yet this week! How is everyone going?????????????
THURSDAY is our weigh in day!! so don't forget to come back with your weights

Have a great week!

Sandra

You didn't have to keep quiet Sassyinsg, thumbs_up.gif You thought that was the surgery I had. No harm done icon_smile.gif I totally agree that we do learn something new every day! I know I do for sure. Let me tell ya'll what I learned today... I learned that when I'm having a bad day or upset about something I would EAT!!! I had a horrible day today, one of the worst ones of the year so far. Nothing went right! I kept thinking of eating, I even called my DH & told him I feel like I could eat & eat & eat (of course I couldn't but I sure wanted tooooo!!)! thumbsdown.gifthumbsdown.gif That's when a light bulb came on! I eat when I'm upset!! icon_cry.gif I think I've made a break through!! Now that I know what causes me to eat (& want to eat) I can be more careful when I'm having a bad day. My dr told me to pin point what makes me overeat, now I know. thumbs_up.gif I think that's a good thing for us all to learn. Find out what makes you overeat & work on controlling it. Good luck!! Ya'll have a wonderful weekend!! icon_smile.gif

Sorry for being absent everyone. I was trying to help a friend finish packing to move this week and with work and sick animals, I have not had a chance to even read this thread.

I stayed the same this week, my own fault for not exercising, plus eating out. I am going to do better this week.

tcturtleshell---I am so glad you liked the idea of the half packet of Crystal Light. Your weight loss is going great, keep up the good work.

I stayed the same this week too. So, so far, I've lost just one pound. I didn't exercise this week at all, so I know that was my problem...

hi,

I haven't bought a scale yet. icon_cry.gif whenever i rember the shops are closed or i just cann't get out to go and get it.
I wish i had a scale... i wish i had a scale.
I feel great i don't think i really have lost so much this week like i did last week. i drink water. i don't feel sleepy daytime anymore. Just perfect.

One funny thing though. I tasted some diet jelly and had diet coke. OMG made me sick. I have never had any diet stuff so i didn't even know how it tasted . I just wonder why they have to make the diet stuff so sweet? so sweet that it actually is not edibe... hmm and i thought that fondant was sweet.

Also, bought a tiny little book which has all the calories, proteins, carbohydrates and fat of foods. Fits nicely in my handbag. really good helper. thumbs_up.gif especially if i feel like having some junk . i just have to open the book look at the carbohydrates and the appetite is gone icon_biggrin.gif

Hi Liis, I agree about the sweetness of diet foods. I don't understand it at all. It's like they put more sugar in them. I bought some sugar free grape jelly & it was horrible! It tasted like gelatine without any flavor to it. YUCK! It's still sitting in the icebox! I guess I should throw it away because I will never eat it.

Cindy, thank you for your encouragement! I'm working hard! Just gotta keep going to the gym even when my days get messed up.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend!! Have a great week too!! Good luck! YOU CAN DO-EET!!!

Hi everyone, back in town from my work trip. I have such a hard time when I am out of town, we usually eat at fast food places or very expensive places that don't have a simple salad to choose. I have gained and now weigh 215, just from this trip. The bad thing is that I leave again on Friday and will return on Tuesday.

On the upside the hotel did have a work out room and of the 5 days I was there, I worked out 3 times. Which is great for me, I usually bring my work out clothes and never unpack them!

I am hoping that I can shed at least 1 of the 3 that I put on before I go out again.

Kudos to everyone who lost and those of us who stayed or gained, there is next week and keep our heads up!

Hi there,
Just getting in on the tail of this thread, was searching for info on pan sizes and came across this. Would someone just send me the Reader's Digest of what is going on? Sounds like weight loss and I sure could use a support group. I weighed 260 last May and now I am down to 180, I feel great but have not lost anything for the last 2 months. Of course I'm not exercising like I was and then there's this little hobby I have called "cake decorating". Luckily I have not gained a pound with all the cake and cookie stuffing and icing tasting. But how long is this going to last? let me know how to add that little gauge you all have at the bottom of your note to show weight loss, that is soooo cool!

Best,

Hey Samsgranny, Welcome!

All you do to get that bar is to click on mine. It will take you to 3fatchicks website. Just follow the directions on choosing which character/design that you want. After you do that you copy & paste it into your signature under your profile on CC. It's very easy. Glad Susan showed me how to do it!! LOL!! thumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gif Good luck & welcome to our support group!

You guys... today is my weigh in day... I lost 4 lbs!!!!!! Yeah!!!! Down to 212 now! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif I can't believe I'm almost at my first goal of 200!!!

Hey girls,
I hope I got the signature added...too cute! About Gastric Bypass...this is not a quick fix as some people think, I know I had it last July. You have to make up your mind that this is something that is going to change the rest of your life and that nothing will be the same. And it shouldn't be the same because that is what got you in trouble to begin with. You will need to change your old bad habits, where you eat (in front of the tv? in your car? late at night?) how you eat (sloooow down), stop drinking with your meals (you get filled with liquid and within an hour you are ravenous!). Stick to proteins (fat burners and you stay full longer) and healthy carbs. Please do not cut out carbs completely-that's the fast track to failure. Some of you might be familiar with Obesity Help.com. That's where I first started learning about GB and believe me it is an education. I'm not telling everyone "Oh this is the way to do it", everyone is different and you have to find the right way for you. The only thing I can recommend is to educate yourself, read and learn as much as you can. I can't tell you how many times I've read on the message board, "Okay, I've had the surgery, now what?" Prepare yourselves...Ok I will get off my soap box now. I had the surgery and it has worked for me but I also know that I have to work hard to not fall back into my old habits and stretch my pouch out and gain all that weight back. Okay, one more thing, if you are going to do it...do it now. Don't wait a year or two or five. If you are young don't waste anymore of your life living fat...if you are older (like me) don't waste anymore time living fat...you still have more life to live so live it the best you can! Life is soooo much better for me after losing 80 pounds. I feel better, I look better and I can move so much better and not so tired and run down all the time. Oh, my God, I forgot to tell you the best thing of all! I got rid of my diabetes! Yup, no more pills, no more insulin my blood sugars are all normal, no more cholesterol problems. Yes, for me it was the best thing. So go girls, I hope I have encouraged someone to get off the sofa and take a walk, turn on some salsa music and dance, move that - - - girl! Amen.

As someone that is constantly trying to find the easy way out for weightloss.. I can tell you that reading the experiences of people who have had weightloss surgery on the 3FatChicks website.. definitely made me realize that it isn't an easy fix. I used to think that once they endured the surgery, it was easy street... Boy was I wrong!

I think if you can then do it the old fashion way (As much as it sucks!!) and take some serious time to consider the risk/returns of surgery. Its not cheap.. and gets more expensive if you have complications (which there can be many) so its not for the faint of heart or wallet. Please read as much as you can before you take such a big step.

That being said. If you are a candidate and go thru with the surgery, I salute you because its not easy despite what the media makes the rest of us think!

What kind of scale do you have? Some of them you can check by putting a 5lb bag of flour on them to see what they say.

Then putting something on there will definetly help you figure out if it is off and by how much. If you have some weights you can use them. You just need something that you know how much it weights. Most have a place where you can adjust it.

Remember with those scales any time it is move it you should check it, since moving it can throw it off.

Just checking in and wanted to say that I actually got on my elliptical today. I only lasted about 5 minutes, but that was good for a start. I'm going to get out my weights tomorrrow. I know I will feel better if I get moving. Did anyone see Oprah today? She did a really good show about what your need to eat to stay young and healthy. I am on my way to work but will post on it tomorrow.
It was very good.

See ya'll

I am so mad!! icon_mad.gif I sat here last night & wrote a reply to everyone who asked me questions & BOOM our electricity went out!! Right in the middle of my reply!!! Ahhhh!!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gifthumbsdown.gif No bad weather, no lighting nothing! About 4 cities were without power for several hours last night. To make things worse, during the night the power would come on, I'd wake up. I'd go back to sleep, it would go off again, I'd wake up again. So all night it was off & on. Hopefully that will never happen again!
