Herringbone Wood, Rouch & Hammered Copper Cake
I made this cake as part of my latest class which was all about textures. The bottom herringbone wood is a no-paint effect I fell in love with. My daughter had a shirt with the rouching texture on it, so I decided I "needed" to figure out how to put it on a cake and loved how it turned out. Then the hammered copper was the icing on the cake! It turned out to be such a fun, sophisticated, urban chic sort of cake. Thanks for looking!

Escher In Summertime
This cake was delivered at a beautiful majestical location in the centre of the Hague (the Netherlands). It’s difficult to cover squire cakes in this warm weather especially if they are quit big. Usually I covered the cake with one rolled out piece of fondant. Because of the size of the middle tier, I have decided, for the first time, to cover the middle tier with panels of fondant. The client was very specific about the color, it just had to be turquoise! I’m pleased with how the cake turned out. xxx Riany
