Kratos, The God Of War - Cakecon International Collaboration 2017
Hi everybody!!! I am really happy to share with you my creation for the Cake Con International Collaboration 2017!!! It is now travelling to Germany so fingers crossed it arrives with no damage!!! Here’s a bit of the background on why I chose KRATOS. Greek mythology has always fascinated me especially the conflicts and wars waged by the Titans and the Gods. Kratos is the main character in the God of War series of video games on which the comics and novels were based on. Kratos, depicted as lacking in feeling, is a Spartan warrior who grows to be the “Ghost of Sparta” after Ares, the God of War, tricked him into slaying his family. Kratos himself then becomes the God of War after killing Ares, and is eventually revealed to be the son of Zeus. Kratos is later sent to the Netherworld by Zeus as punishment for wanting to destroy the world, and is stripped of his godly powers by being converted into a human. Kratos then embarks on a series of adventures in an attempt to reach Mount Olympus and so avenge his fate by killing Zeus. The image I have chosen represents Kratos’ having beheaded a sculpture of Zeus, which epitomizes his hate towards his father. Dreamland Collaboration - Up Up And Away
I was honoured when I was invited to take part in this beautiful collaboration with amazing artists from all over the world. This is my creation which reveals a dream of mine. Dreamland is a collaboration that aims to celebrate the “World Dream Day” of 2016 and contributes to an association that makes the dreams of children come true- the “Associação Terra dos Sonhos”. The Associação Terra dos Sonhos” is a non-profit organization, founded on June 1st, 2007, that proposes to ensure public awareness of the importance of emotional and mental well-being quality of life and physical health of people, developing and implementing these tools to segments of society whose physical or emotional health situation is found especially weak. ( http://www.terradossonhos.org/ ) We believe in a world where dreams are the driving force and a great pursuit of happiness booster. With our art we can get to the heart of sick children and help them to be happy, this is simply wonderful. So, in addition to create together a fantastic collaboration, full of charm, art and love to celebrate the World Dream Day, we also create this E-Book with some tutorials of our works to help children. The total value achieved with the sale of this E-Book will fully revert to the “Associação Terra dos Sonhos” (when you buy it, the whole value goes directly to the Association) . We hope with this action, we can really make dreams come true for children. Because … A SMILE IS WORTH ALL! Cpc Beatrix Potter Collaboration - Yew Tree Farm
“The wonderful world of “Beatrix Potter” tales and the celebration of her Birthday has brought together to a sweet tribute a multitude of cake design artists from different parts of the world. I decided to recreate one of the houses Beatrix Potter lived in and I thought that Yew Tree Farm in Conniston was ideal as it shows the tranquillity which must have allowed her imagination to fly.It is a Victoria sponge with lemon filling, covered in fondant I covered the fondant with few coats of white chocolate with extra white colouring, which I purposefully let dry a little, to give a rough texture of the whitewash and made a few cracks to give the walls an Olde Worlde feel. The tiles and stones are all individually made to give a really rustic feel to the house. The blades of grass snipped with scissors and the earth is chocolate cookie which I crumbled. I had a lot of fun making this and I hope you like it. " rel="nofollow"> https://www.facebook.com/CPC-Beatrix-Potter-Collaboration-648949825258090/?fref=ts

Cake Con Collaboration - World Of Warcraft -Durotan - The Untold Story
This is the piece I, Adela, presented for Cake Con International which is a collaboration featuring 22 amazing artists who have created sugar art inspired by tv series, comics & video game characters. Durotan is a 2 layer cake with a RKT topper. For the first layer I have covered the cake in black so it acts as a base to enhance the logo of the comic I ́have been inspired in, “World of Warcraft”. The second layer is a 6" by 6" with a 120 degree wedge cut out in which I represented a scene of the story of Durotan ́s childhood where he had to fight against a pack of wolves in the middle of the woods. On the top of the cake I have carved in RKT the bust of the main character, Durotan, wearing his wolf fur over him and all the back of the cake, as a reminder of the slaughter he carried out years ago. I hope you like it :):)

Charlie Brown Goes To The Movies - Cake Con Collaboration
I was so honoured to be invited to form part of this awesome collaborations together with 22 amazing artists who created sugar art inspired by tv series, comics & video game characters. I chose Peanut characters as I used to love going to the Saturday Matinees to see them! Oh happy memories. After covering the layer cake with a black Fondant base, I made the seats and the armrests and gave them an old leather texture with layers of melted red chocolate. Each figure was first traced out on acetate, and then cut on to a 3mm layer of Satin Ice fondant with a skin tone pigment. There are three layers to each figure, the base layer which is the body, then the clothed layer together with the hair, and lastly the shoes and details like frills or bows. After that, I outlined each using black Aromacake pigment to give each figure a more comic-like and 3d effect. I had so much fun making popcorn using an extruder! I then placed each figure on the seat of my “cinema”. Thank you Mayra and Cassandra for such an amazing collaboration!

Acts Of Green - Save The Bees - Save The World
It is a fact that many species of wild bees, butterflies and other insects that pollinate plants are heading for extinction, and our food supplies could be about to suffer, that is what the UN warns. The 20,000 or so species of pollinators are key to hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of crops each year, from fruits and vegetables to coffee and chocolate. Yet two out of five species of insect pollinators are under threat from a mix of farming, pesticides and a loss of habitat. What I have tried to do is to put across this sad state of affairs and make people aware that nature and man are closely linked, and whilst the former can survive without the latter, this does not work the other way around. Save the Bees – Save the World!Hello everyone! The issues facing our planet are vast and overwhelming but by supporting the National Geographic Society, this years chosen nonprofit, we are giving to an organization that has made a tangible effort to help reverse the damage that has been done and educate future generations. “The National Geographic Society has been inspiring people to care about the planet since 1888. It is one of the largest nonprofit scientific and educational institutions in the world. Its interests include geography, archaeology and natural science, and the promotion of environmental and historical conservation.” http://nationalgeographic.org/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ActsofGreen2016 Twitter: https://twitter.com/UNsugarArt Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/unsugarart/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unsugarart/ Web: www.unsugarart.org Donations: https://www.gofundme.com/actsofgreen To learn how to become a member of UNSA please email [email protected] #ActsofGreen #UNSA #CreateChange

Birthday Golfer!
We wanted to surprise our dad to show him how we love him. So seeing that 60 is such a nice round number, we decided to organise a surprise birthday party! And as he is an avid golfer, what better theme than his fave sport. So trying to keep eveything a big secret we managed to prepare a 3 metre long sweet table with the main Birthday Carrot cake in the centre! Mum organised it so that all his family, golfing friends and close non golfers could come and surprise him, big time. He was really astonished that he had not even an inkling of what was going on until his big day. He said over and over again, “I’ll never forget this…” It was a really wonderful day for everybody, so we’d like to share it with you.

Mysterious Mother Nature
My piece is called Mysterious Mother Nature, firstly due to my love of flowers and plants, and secondly, because Mother Nature can be so shocking as well as peaceful, all-giving yet vengeful, calm one moment, violent the next. I have made her stern looking and hiding behind a mask, as if she has a secret or a warning, but in contrast she gives us beauty. I based my piece on the work carried out by designer Bink who runs Pearls & Swine, a company that makes surreal hats and avant-garde hair accessories. I wanted to combine fondant, gum paste and rice paper to get different textures and airy feeling to the cake.

Bananaaaaaaaaaaaas!!!!!!
This is a very special cake. If you don´t recognise it, it´s a scene from the Minion movie, but with a little change…… The customer only wanted the tall one as a banana instead of both of them and the teadybear like in the movie. I loved making this cake, with all its details and expresions. I hope you like it as much as I did making it.
