Made with 2 10" layers, top "Cupcake" made with 5" and 6" cakes. B/C frosting with fondant strawberries. Can't remember the CC member that inspired this cake...sorry! Went back to find out who it was and can't find it now but thanks to every Strawberry Shortcake cake for inspiration.
This is my take on the Twinkie Wedding Cake. Took alot longer than I thought it would. Made with styrofoam centers and 27 twinkies covered in fondant. Buttercream trim, fondant roses and leaves. Before adding the finishing touches, I was not liking it too much, but I am prretty happy with it now. I have always wanted to try to make on of these.
This cake was made to match the invitation. 8" and 6" cakes covered in BC with fondant dots and stripes. Fondant bow.
This is a HUGE cake. Started with 6 layers of 1/4 sheet cakes. Top 2 are trimmed on an angle (both sides) for the slope of the roof. Fondant covered foamboard for roof, fondant doors and windows. Fireplace is Rice Krispie Treats covered with BC and fondant "stones". Coconut grass. Wanted to cover edge of foamboard but ran out of time. Oven had gone out on Thursday and didn't get thru baking these cakes until 12:30 this morning. Logs are BC.
This is the cake that I was worried would look "patriotic" instead of weddingy (is that a word?). Fondant pearls, fondant plaque, real ribbon and flowers. All frosted in buttercream. Very pleased how this turned out.

These were made with the Wilton egg pan. Fondant for head and tail. Buttercream roses and melted jolly ranchers for antennas.
This cake was inspired by Kitagrl however, hers was soooo much better. Decided last night to do this cake (baking AND decorating) so I think it turned out OK. The 15-yr old boy loved it. The shark is made from the egg pan on top of 1/4 sheet cake. BC frosting with RI teeth and fondant eyes. I cheated--the dorsal fin is cardboard.
2 1/2 sheet cakes with 10" single layer and one 8" X 3" top cake cut with an angle. Edible image on top and fondant flag.
This is my take on a cake by Freed's Bakery. A customer wanted to order a 2 or 3-tiered sandcastle cake but when I gave her the quote, she opted for this. 2 layer 1/4 sheet cakes with BC frosting and fondant fish and turtle.
Not sure where to catagorize this cake but the boy this was created for collected swords and knives. Buttercream frosting with fondant swords brushed with edible luster dust from ECG.
This cake was inspired by "The Cake Lady" in Richardson, Texas. It is found in this month's "The Knot--Texas" magazine. SInce dragees are not edible, I opted for silver dusted fondant pearls. Chocolate fudge cake with white chocolate ganache filling and raspberry filling covered in buttercream.
These petit fours were made with Kathy Scott's petit four molds. The bride's colors are brown and green and they are decorating with palm trees.
Pool cut out of 1/4 sheet cake with BC frosting and fondant accents. Name in BC with clear piping gel piped over with tip 10, then lightly "waved" with a spatula.

This is my favorite cake of the week. Thanks to ygbecerra for a great pic and sue_dye for a great pic tutorial. Pillow carved from a 1/4 sheet cake. Big dog from 2 8" round cakes and little dog from leftover scraps. All buttercream except for fondant eys, nose, bows and bone on big dog. Fondant blanket, bows and fondant covered end of sugar cone for party hat.
I had originally made this as the groom's cake for a wedding 2 years ago. Cutstomer called to have it recreated for their 2nd anniversary. Chocolate fudge cake carved from a 1/4 sheet cake. Chocolate BC underneath fondant. M&M's for the buttons. Golf tees covered in fondant for toggle buttons.
Made with 24 cupcakes and a pre-made edible image.
Cookies for a lingerie shower. Bustiers were made with a modified heart cookie cutter and Nighties were made from an Angel cookie cutter. There were my favorite cookies of the week.
This was for a neighbor that got married in the Virgin Islands a couple of weeks ago. The reception was this weekend (7-7-07). A 10", 8" and 6", all buttercream. With real ribbon and pink free-handed scrolls.
