“Autumn’s Glow” inspired by the fall shades of Brown with touch of Bronze. I LOVED doing this one as Autumn has got to be my favourite season of all her in the Netherlands. This fall wedding cake is made lush with sugar leaves, berries, deep red / orange flowers. For the 2nd layers I’ve used the crackled effect on fondant en the 3rd layer I’ve used the beautiful stencil.

Wedding Cake Inspired By "barbie" Fashion Collaboration
My Inspiration for this collaboration was Marie Antoinette. It has been my long time I wish to make a Victorian style cake. Looking at the photo of the designer I immediately knew what to do. The combination of the corset, lace, ruffles, pleats and drapes with a touch of gold are the characteristics of a Victorian style dress. Barbie time-travelled a few centuries back, but returned with grace and beauty. I’m very pleased with the result. Inspired by Magia 2000 Italia Designer Duo (Mario Paglimo & Gianni Grossi). Art Across The Spectrum
I was invited to participate in a collaboration about autism. I was very drawn to this collab, because I have people in my personal life who are diagnosed with autism. When I was scrolling the internet I found an amazing story about a autist girl, Marcy Deutsch, with an extraordinary talent for art. She draws animals in a highly photorealistic manner. I based the design of my cake on one of her drawings. It is a drawing of robins in the snow. I love how serene the robins looked in their habitat, so I wanted to recreate that in a cake. This is the final result. I hope Marcy Deutsch is as happy with the result as I am! If you want to read more about Marcy Deutsch and her journey check out her facebook page and read the article ‘art across the spectrum’ (by Debra Muzikar) “Because of my autism I connect to the animals and nature around and see far more detail than the average [person] can see. Yet I can’t draw people; I don’t see their faces and have a harder time connecting. I tend to see nature as relaxing and beautiful.” —Marcy Deutsch

Almond Blossom
My cake for The Absinthe Ritual Collaboration- A Dutch Sugar Artist Tribute to Van Gogh 125 years of inspiration. When I visited the Van Gogh museum, I knew that I wanted to use his Almond Blossom painting as inspiration. I’m absolutely flabbergasted and I feel very honoured that my cake has been shared yesterday by the van Gogh museum itself ( https://www.facebook.com/VanGoghMuseum/?fref=ts ). How cool is that? Personally, it is the best reward possible that you can think of. I know I’m a little bit late, but take a look at the other creations of the Dutch sugar artists. They are amazing. I feel honored to be invited and to be part of this wonderful collaboration. The Absinthe Ritual – A Dutch Sugar Artist Tribute to Van Gogh ( https://www.facebook.com/absintheritual/?fref=ts )

Red Passion Weddingcake
The wedding cake I made a few weeks ago. The bridal couple only had one wish: for the cake to have a deep red-white colour combination with orchids. I intensionally gave the bottom as well as the top tier the deep red colour to focus the attention on the middle of the cake, where eventually the flower bouquets (red Cattleya and moth orchids) were placed. I’ve also decorated the red tiers with diagonal ruffles to match the pattern of the brides dress. A few embellishments to surround the flower bouquets melted all the elements of the cake together. I hope you like the result as much as I do. xx Riany

Bollywood Wedding
I had the incredible honour to be part of the DREAM WEDDING LOCATIONS featured in The Wedding Cake Edition of Cake Masters August 2015. I was given the Bollywood wedding theme. The traditionally Bollywood inspired cakes are made in bright colors in combination with gold. I wanted to mix up the tradition a bit, so I’ve chosen a royal navy blue/gold colour scheme. I really love how this cake has turned out!

The Golden Venetian Mask In Rosso
Welcome to the sweetest Carnival ever! Here is my contribution to the Sugar Carnival Collaboration. My cake is called “The golden venetian mask in Rosso” and is based on the inspiration board I was given. When I was asked to make a carnival themed cake, I wasn’t quite sure what to make at first. I did some searching and saw a red/gold mask and I immediately knew what I wanted to do. So for this cake I only used the colors red and gold. I also wanted to incorporate a geometric pattern thus I chose for harlequin because I think it has something festive to it. Furthermore I created some diagonal stripes and lace at the bottom and a mask to top it all of. I really like how this cake turned out! It looks really mysterious and draws you in the mystic world of carnaval. xxx Riany

Copper And Brown Doily Wedding Cake
This is my first weddingcake this year. I’ve wanted to make a cake with doily lace for a long time. I have used copper in combination with brown to give the cake more depth. The copper flowerlace in combination with brown sugar roses are just stunning. I’ve decided to put the flowers assymetrical (just at one side) to make the cake a little bit different. I just love how the cake has turned out and I’m in love with the color combination. I hope you like it. xxx Riany

Navylicious Wedding Cake
I have made this beautiful Navylicious wedding cake a few months ago but I forgot to post it here. It was the first time I put horizontal lines of fondant on a wedding cake which wasn’t very easy, but the cake turned out beautifully. The combination of the cake with the ivory roses put the cherry on top. I am very content with the result! I hope you enjoy the cake as much as I do. Take a look! xxx Riany xxx Riany
