Max's Earthworm Cake (Max & Ruby)
Earthworm Cake with Caterpillar icing and red hot marshmallow squirters. If you've seen this episode of Max and Ruby, or read the book "Bunny Cakes" by Rosemary Wells, then you can appreciate this cake! This was made as a smash cake for a little guy Max turning 2. It is chocolate cake with green vanilla butter cream and the rest chocolate butter cream. The worms and candies are made from fondant. January, 2009.

Nutella & Pirouline Cake
Firstly, Nutella is a chocolate & hazelnut spread and Piroulines are chocolate hazelnut rods wrapped in wafers! The cake underneath is a Nutella Cake which was in "How to be a Domestic Goddess". The indentation in the cake is filled with chocolate ganache and topped with toasted hazelnuts. Surrounding the cake are cracked off piroulines which are secured with a real ribbon and bow! Christmas Presents
This was made for a customer's family Christmas party with about 50 people! The large bottom gift is an 8 inch chocolate cake filled with vanilla butter cream. The two smaller gifts are 4 inch white butter cakes. All the icing is vanilla butter cream. The bows are fondant/gum paste and the snowflakes are fondant. December, 2008.

This cake was a tricky one but I was pleased with it. The body is four layers of 6 inch square butter cake and the legs are butter cake as well. The body and legs are iced with vanilla butter cream icing. The arms and head are made of rice krispie treats covered in butter cream than fondant icing. December 2008.

Holly & Berries Gift
This cake was made as a birthday gift but she wanted a Christmas theme. The cake is an 8 inch chocolate cake filled and iced with vanilla butter cream. The holly leaves are gum paste and the berries are fondant painted with white pearl luster dust. The "ribbons" and border are all fondant. December 2008.

Transportation And Works Christmas Cake
This cake was made for a Christmas function at my husband's work. They do design and construction of bridges and highways so I tried to incorporate that!! The cake is all butter cake and icing is all vanilla butter cream. The snowmen are made of marshmallow fondant and the bridge is made of chocolate. The trees are candies. December 2008.

Purple Sparkly Penguin Castle
An 8 inch round double layer chocolate cake topped with a 6 inch round double layer butter cake. The turrets are ice cream cones covered with purple fondant then painted with pearl lustre dust and the towers are pillars covered with edible purple sparkles. The penguins are hand made from fondant / gum paste. All other icing is vanilla butter cream. November, 2008

Carnations & A Sparkly Bow
An 8 inch square double layer cake filled and covered with chocolate butter cream icing then home made fondant. The carnations, gift tag, and bow are hand made from gum paste. The pink on the carnations is edible powder and the sparkle on the bow is done with white pearl dust and vodka. November, 2008

Giant Cupcake
This giant cup cake was made using the Wilton Giant cup cake pan. The bottom portion is chocolate cake and the top is white butter. The giant 1 is made from melted pink chocolate. The matching mini cupcakes are also chocolate and white butter. All the icing is vanilla butter cream. This cake was made to match the party invitations. November, 2008.

Sparks Enrollment Cake
Sparks is the first level of Girl Guides in Canada and is for girls from Kindergarten and grade 1. I made this cake for my daughter's enrollment ceremony. The bottom is a 12 inch square white butter cake, the top is an 8 inch round chocolate cake. All the icing is vanilla butter cream and the promise on the top layer was lifted from their uniform t-shirt using a FBCT. Each chocolate-pop trefoil surrounding the top has the name of a Spark on it. November, 2008.

Fun Baby Belly Cake
This cake was so much fun to make!! It consists of a 12 inch square marble cake covered in brown fondant with a banana chocolate chip cake for the torso. The torso is made with half of a ball pan and 2 mini wonder molds. Crumb coated in vanilla butter cream, then covered with home made fondant. The mommy to be wanted fun gender neutral colors in a funky design. October, 2008.

Halloween Ghost
I made this for the Halloween party at my daughter's dance school. It is an 8 inch round with a wondermold cake on top (the cake is 10-12 inches tall), all butter cake. The cakes are iced in vanilla butter cream, than home made fondant. Flying above the ghosts head are bats and ghosts, unfortunately the bat pictures never came out that great. October 2008.

For my daughter's 5th birthday! The bottom layer is a 10 inch butter-chocolate chip cake, the top layer is half of a 10 inch chocolate cake. Each are filled with vanilla butter cream. Hannah's face silhouette is a frozen butter cream transfer, the guitar is melted colored chocolate and the letters are fondant! October 2008.

Girl Or Boy??
A 10 inch marble (chocolate & vanilla) cake where the sex of the baby is a surprise! The cake is covered and filled in vanilla butter cream, then home made fondant and placed on a fondant covered cake board. The foot prints, question marks, borders, bow and gift tag are fondant. The date on the tag is the due date. (September, 2008)
