Dump Truck Cake.
3-D dump truck cake which I made up as I went along. Had to make my own pattern as I could not find anything suitable in any of my books. It worked out fine in the end. Carved from 2 lemon 9x13 cakes filled with lemon curd. Wheels are fondant / gumpaste. Complete with chocolate wafer crumb dirt with gummy worm.

Darth Vader
Darth Vader cake sculpted from 2 x 9" round, 1 x 8" round and 1/2 ball pan. Covered in chocolate fondant airbrushed black. I had an absolute blast making this cake. I wanted to add a voice chip which I had pried out of an old birthday card but I had already made up the board so it was too small to incude it. Next time I will definitively add it so we can have a talking Darth Vader. Thanks to all other CC'ers who have posted Darth cakes for the inspiration.

Pirate Ship Cake
Pirate Ship Cake made for my children's Pirate Weeks celebration at school. I partly used Debbie Brown's instructions and partly the instructions that Karensue posted. I seriously underestimated how long it would take to cut and place each plank. Wish I had more time to add more details, but the kids were thrilled.

Flower Cake
This cake is a major achivement for me. I have complete left/right dyslexia so figuring out instructions on how to pipe flowers was hopeless. In the end I took a course so that I could see how it was done. Cake is WBH Freckled Mocha cake brushed with Kaluha and filled with chocolate BC spiked with more Kaluha. Iced in IMBC.

Blue Dinosaur
This cake was constructed from one 10" round and one 9" round. Chocolate cake brushed with morello cherry preserves and filled with chocolate buttercream. The feet are bits of cake, the tail and neck are made from RCT while the head is crumpled foil. The head was originally RCT but it got too soft so the neck dowel started pushing through the head and caused a severe skull fracture. The whole cake is covered in fondant. I originally airbrushed the cake but did not like the outcome so hand painted it on top.

The Frog Prince
This is a dummy cake which I made in Colette Peter's advanced fondant and gumpaste class. All tiers are carved and covered in fondant. Frog is also sculped from foam and fondant. The waterfall is very thin sheets of gumpaste which were draped and then painted with piping gel. The dragon flies are made from gumpaste and leaf gelatin. This was a really fun cake to do.

Cake With A Waist.
Thanks to Heidihill for inspiration for the "waisted" look. This is 2 x 9' with a 8" in the middle. Lots of layers of filling in the cake to give it a lot of height. The cake is decorated with fondant strips made with a sugar craft gun and ribbon roses. First attempt at the ribbon roses, think I could do with a bit more practice.

Clothesline Baby Shower Cake.
This cake is mainly inspired from Wilton's 2006 yearbook, but I did not like the topper on that cake, so I made booties instead for the topper. Only realised when I got to the party that I had forgotten to put the little clothes pegs on. The cake is covered in fondant, all decorations are fondant cut touts with RI details.

Thunderbird Cake
This cake was made for a little boy who is a huge fan of the UK cult TV show, the Thunderbirds. When the cake was ready to serve I put sparklers in the funnels at the back for maximum effect. Birthday boy was very impressed. I used the toy in the picture as a guide when carving the cake. Cake is covered in fondant, the wings, funnels and back spoiler are gumpaste.
