Teacher Appreciation Cookies.
Cookies made for teachers at the end of year. I used edible images of my children on sugar cookies, with RI borders. I layered these cookies in Mason jars with cookies that my kids had decorated themselves. I finished off the jars with colourful fabric tops tied with coordinating leather ties. The gifts were very well received.

Pizza Cake
I baked a thin layer of cake in a 12" pan. I carved out a little bit of the top to give it a bit of an edge, then topped it with red BC sauce, fruit leather pepperoni, fondant mushrooms, I made olives from black fondant disks and used a hole punch for the centre hole. The whole thing was topped with grated white chocolate which I quickly browned under the broiler. I presented the cake in a real pizza box for an authentic flair.

Hamburger Cupcakes With Cookie Fries.
These cupcakes were a hoot. My son was so convinced they were real burgers that when he bit into the burger he got such a shock the flavour was sweet that he burst into tears and cried for an hour. Vanilla cupcake buns, brownie "meat", fondant lettuce and ketchup and mustard is BC. The fries are sugar cookies tossed is sugar. I got the directions from Bakerella's site.

Christmas Hello Kitty
This Hello Kitty cake was cursed! I had so many problems and accidents with it I started to wonder if it was the copyright spirits that were haunting me. I had cake layers drop out of the oven and crack, my layers went flying as I turned them out of the pan and the whole cake fell sideways off the board when I went to move it to the decorated board. I got there in the end thankfully.

Saleen Parnelli Jones Cake
My 5 year old son requested that his birthday cake should be modeled on my husband's real life car, basically a souped up Mustang. I ordered Mike McCarey's car cake DVD but it did not arrive in time so I had to wing it using advice from fellow CC'ers - thank you! The car is carved out of an 11x15 strawberry cake which was halved and stacked. The windscreens are modeling chocolate, the mirrors, wheels and spoilers are gumpaste. The whole cake is covered in fondant and painted with water to make it shiny. It is the first cake I have ever felt sad to cut, it was just so little and cute.

Knight's Castle
This was made for a knights obsessed boy. It was fun to make a boy themed castle. The cakes are cut from a large sheet, the bottom tier is 3 6x6 squares, the top tier is 2 4" rounds. The moat is filled with colored piping gel. The knights are modeled out of gum paste and painted with silver luster dust.

Butterfly Fairy Cake.
I was told that the birthday girl loves butterflies, flowers and fairies and that she likes pink and purple, you can't get more girlie than that! So this is what I came up with. 9" and 6" fondant covered chocolate cakes with fondant flowers, the figure and butterflies are gum paste.

Dim Sum Cake
I made this cake for the leaving party for some good friends who were moving to Hong Kong. Everything you see in the photo is edible, down to the soy sauce bowl and chopsticks. The cake was placed on the buffet along with the other food and it was a hoot to see how many people tried to lift the lids on the dim sum basket, thinking they were real. The cakes were banana rum cake, nutella cake and yellow cake. The cakes are covered in fondant which was hand painted, the accessories and noodles/veg are gum paste.
