This is my 2nd attempt at the washtub baby. It is a 3 layer 12 inch round with the bottom carved in and I "dug" some cake out of the top layer to create an uneven effect for the bubbles. All covered in CBC with mmf accents. Thanks for looking
This cake was sooo fun!!! The groom had no idea what type of cake he was getting. The hat is made from a 2 tier 6 inch round that was carved. The bottom of the hat and buckle are gumpaste and the bride "ropeing" the groom are mmf and gumpaste. The wedding rings on the hat are also mmf painted w/ gold antique luster dust. This was my first attempt at using the wonder mold pan or at doing a mermaid. It was SOOOOOO fun. The mom was so excited and she said her little girl didn't want to cut it, just look at it!! Anyways, all CBC with mmf and gumpaste accents.

The bride wanted a small wedding cake and saw a pic of a cake that had "bubbles" on it, so I tried to do what she was describing. Learned a lot with this one. The toppers are mmf/ gumpaste, everything else is CBC except for ribbon, which of course, is satin.

This was soooo fun to make. It's a sheet cake for the box and the crayons on top are carved from a loaf pan cake that was frozen. They loved the cake. Sorry the pic isn't any better, had to take it with my phone, my camera is on the fritz!! Thanks for looking anyways.

This is the top of Mr. Yates retirement cake. It's the school logo, the helping hands. The hands are mmf and everything else is royal icing.

This is another version of my "Over the Tarheel" cake. The mother didn't want it to say "Over the Tarheel" so we just put "Happy Birthday". It's a sour cream pound cake with crusting cream cheese icing. Yummy!!
