Simple request for her mom's birthday party. Used the plastic mini-molds (for micro-wave cake mixes) for the numbers and they worked really well. Nice clean release and edges. Sure beats having to hand carve and deal with all the crumbs! Buttercream with fondant accents.
Made for a Ladies Luncheon celebrating 21 years of their Bible discussion group. "Hats Off to BSD" was the theme, and the client wanted 75 hats of all different shapes, colors, and styles! This was a fun order!

This was one of those 'surprise ending' cakes. Requested it to serve 55, wanted metallic silver and mardi-gras purple, with guest of honor's nickname on cake... still haven't figured that one out! I practically used up a whole jar of luster dust on that star layer! Oooo - just realized how loose my foil was. How tacky! LOL
Each 'foot' was made from a 9 x 13 cake. One chocolate, one yellow.

Fun to make once all the icing is mixed up. My girlfriends and I gave up on the cookie exchange. Not everyone was a baker. Now two of us just bake a ton of cookies and have icing bags ready to go - we must gossip and decorate for 8 hours that day. Lots of fun -everyone takes home their own handiwork and learns new tricks from the experienced ones.

These are so darn cute once the luster dust goes on! And so easy to make - I just took an old egg shape cutter and bent it to make small ovals. They are about the same size as the old-fashioned diaper pins.
