Hudson's Baby Shower Cake
Nursery was in vintage western, so this is what I came up with for the shower. Used the embossed pleather decorator fabric to get detail on the belt border... cheapest impression mat ever! Topper (wagon) was actually a birdhouse that can be used in the nursery or hung outside. Diapers made out of felt. Boots are scrapbook stickers. Everything else is edible.

Princess Clara's Big Cake
This was a monster cake! 14" and 12" layers, both 4" tall, provided by a local bakery where the mother LOVES their buttercream. Brought to me with only crumb coating and 2 cups of extra frosting. Added my pillow cake on top and additional flourishes to make it match the 23 individual princess cakes that went with this order... will post next.

Mystery Machine
Scooby Doo... where are you? Lots of fun - structural nightmare because I wanted the van to sit off the cake board so the wheels were a little more realistic. My wooden skewer did not pierce thru the bottom cake board so after about a mile in the car, this very heavy cake slid off of the 'riser' and smushed into the back edge of the cake box... had to turn around and perform some Cake 911! Turned out just fine when all was said and done!

Princess Tiara And Pillow
I think the pillow cakes are so much fun to make! I love the quilted square impression mat for these - it makes it so easy! I enhanced a plastic crown with little fondant 'jewels' brushed with luster dust and then sprinkled the whole cake with pink glitter... so pretty when finished! I need some serious practice on my tassels!

Lightening Mcqueen
Cute little car! I really hate trying to do character cakes because I know I will never get the detail or expression just right - kids are very observant and notice these things! I thought about adding the Rust-eze logo on the hood, but remembered it was for a 4 year old who probably wouldn't care. Luckily, he loved it! His sister got the Cozy COne Motel cake with Sally - posting next.

Tie-Dye T-Shirt Cake
Made for a 50th birthday party - guest of honor sent out plain t-shirts with a box of dye for the guests to create their own to wear to the party. She wanted the cake to be colorful and incorporate her favorite decade! Necklace is fondant with luster dust. Tag on shirt said 50/50 with her name to personalize. Choc fudge cake with dark choc orange ganache filling/buttercream & fondant. Handpainted all tie-dye designs.
