Please Can I Keep It?
Made this for the April's Creative Cookie Club. The theme was books. It came from Sandra Boynton's Philidelphia Chickens book and the song/story is Please Can I Keep It? I used buttercream instead of royal this time to try something different and I think it turned out pretty good. I think I will try the buttercream cookies again.......my family would be happier as they prefer butter cream to royal.

The Whole Leprechaun Gang
Sugar cookies with royal icing. I think the leprechaun sliding down the shamrock looks like it joined the witness protection program, LOL....that is what happens when cookie decoratoring goes bad....the cookies try to go into hiding. The seesawing leprechauns look like the blues brothers, LOL. When you don't get the eyes right, just make them into sunglasses.....haha. It was an interesting night of decorating. If anyone is interested you can see my how to guide here: http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-623107.html

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
These were my first ever try at sugar cookies with icing. These were made before I knew to add meringue powder to my icing. The bowl is a cookie itself. I made another one just like it for a PTA auction only changed my bowl technique. I had 60 of these cookies in a chocolate cookie bowl. It went for 40 dollars. I don't think I got a digital picture of that one though.

Horton Hatches An Egg
I made this as an end of the year thank you and goodbye cookie for my daughter's teacher who is retiring. Her favorite children's book is Horton hatches an egg by doctor seuss. It is a large cookie. I am guessing close to 8 x 10 inches. Just plain sugar cookie with royal icing. I printed a picture of the cookie out as a keepsake with the words: Thank you for hatching a prepared third grader and put it on the back of the cookie board before I wrapped it in saran.

Klara's Ugly Cake
I made this for my daughter's second birthday. It is my first attempt at modeling a person with fondant/gumpaste. I didn't do so great. The colors end up being all freaky. They are supposed to be purple and blue....not green and gray, but oh well. She is 2....she just wanted to eat it.
