I thought it would be fun to post the first cake you ever made, and the most recent cake you've made :)
My first cake was for my son's 13th birthday in August of 2010, and my last cake was for Icing Smiles in November of 2012. :)
(I posted my pics using the medium setting so they wouldn't post too big) ;)
Thank you very much :) I was hoping to see other cakesters post their past and present work - anyone?? :)
AHi I'm so new at this I just created my account today .. But how do I add picture to this post??
First Cake October 2009: At the time i thought it was the most awesome cake ever! It was for a kitchen tea party for a family friend...i cringe every time i see it now!
Last cake: I've been caking on and off since that first cake, so i still have a lot to improve on, but i am really proud of this cake!
AOk let's see if I can post pictures from my phone. If not you can go to my face book page where I actually just did this. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=523841294293763&set=a.325116270832934.87297.230193140325248&type=1&comment_id=1712364&ref=notif¬if_t=photo_comment

My first real attempt at making a cake..may I remind you that I am a do-it-yourselfer..lol...I have not taken one cake class in my life..def. rethinking it after looking at this cake..lol..but it was for my daughter and to her it was the greatest thing on earth..
this is a cake I just completed over the weekend. I watched a you tube video on how to cut the cake but that didnt work out so good..so i just started cutting..i still have a LONG way to go but practice makes perfect right???
Here's the first cake I did in my Wilton Class in June of 2011. I laughing so hard at this cake, I'm in tears. To think I was so proud of it when I finished it. LOL
Here's a more recent cake
Amazing what learning how to level and smooth a cake can do. I should try my first cake over just for fun soon.
Still pretty new to this. Decided to make a cake for my granddaughters first birthday in March of this year. I used my son's birthday (37 yr old) to practice some techniques that I wanted to use for my granddaughters cake (my son would have been embarrassed if anyone was around but since it was just us he laughed).
Here is a cake I made with my other granddaughter this weekend. Still practicing-this was an italian meringue frosting. I'd heard it was easier to smooth than regular bc...hmmm...guess it still takes practice!
When you hit reply, you'll see a box with a smiley face and some other icons in it. The very first icon in that "box" is the add image button. If you can't see it, just mouse over all of the icons until you see the insert image. Hope that helps!! :)
We've all come a long way since our first cakes - we should be super proud of ourselves ;D
This is my first attempt at decorating. My daughter celebrated her 16th by taking a group of her friends to surfing lessons last week - thus the cake. I'd love to see how far I can take cake decorating. I only found this site tonight, and have been on it for a couple of hours already soaking everything up. What a great resource!
The photos didn't capture the highlights on the waves etc. My daughter was very happy and everyone loved it.
