I thought it would be fun to post the first cake you ever made, and the most recent cake you've made :) This was my very first cake made with fondant. It was for my son's 13th birthday & it made him very happy. I see things now that I would do differently, but this was my starting point & I'm pretty proud of it :D

My first call to action for Icing Smiles - such a wonderful organization :)

My first cake was for my son's 13th birthday in August of 2010, and my last cake was for Icing Smiles in November of 2012. :)

(I posted my pics using the medium setting so they wouldn't post too big) ;)

this was my first cake attempt! I started with the desire to impress my family but especially my hubby on his birthday . lol.. big mistake ,first cake, BLACK fondant,

OMG, anyways this cake was without consulting CC so after 10 months, with a lot of help from every body here I´m proud of what I have advanced, thank you for post your pictures, share experiences, and for your questions too, that helps a lotpost your pictures, share experiences, and for your questions too, that helps a lot . This was a cake that i made for my son?s ?friend?, the cake was covered with almond icing and the petals were made on fondant with lemon flavor

So after that time I´m always looking for excuses to bake, this cake was a gift from my Son to her friend, I was really excited to do a cake with fondant petals, so I foun the excuse this time..Maybe I should transform my hobby on a lifestyle lol... Happy Hollidays to everyone !!

This is a nice idea :)

My first (summer 2010) was meant to be a mini cooper and it took me hours and hours, I couldn't get the fondant red using liquid colours, I ended up painting it over and over...

this is my most recent:

This was a great fun little 8x4 inch sofa cake. Since the figures would make up such a big part of a slice I used 100% modelling choc so that they tasted good :) The story is that Dad falls asleep eating his peanuts and the dog waits by the chair to lick the salt off his fingers when his arm flops down!

Amazing what learning how to level and smooth a cake can do. I should try my first cake over just for fun soon.

Still pretty new to this.  Decided to make a cake for my granddaughters first birthday in March of this year.  I used my son's birthday (37 yr old) to practice some techniques that I wanted to use for my granddaughters cake (my son would have been embarrassed if anyone was around but since it was just us he laughed).

Here is a cake I made with my other granddaughter this weekend.  Still practicing-this was an italian meringue frosting. I'd heard it was easier to smooth than regular bc...hmmm...guess it still takes practice!

When you hit reply, you'll see a box with a smiley face and some other icons in it. The very first icon in that "box" is the add image button. If you can't see it, just mouse over all of the icons until you see the insert image. Hope that helps!! :)

My first cake was for my son, as I couldn't find a baker to make his Tow Mater so I decided to try. never really baked much, let alone decorated at all then!

Sorry, photo quality not so great. This was my first ever 3D cake (second cake I've done). Loved making it and watching the kids take it apart and eat it all!

These are my recent ones. I have learnt so much, I definitely am going to do a course next year!

Obmre Petal Cake with sugar flower, for my aunts birthday. Had only an hour to do this cake, which is way tooooo short for me, so I could have done it a lot neater. Tasted delicious though!!!

This is my first attempt at decorating. My daughter celebrated her 16th by taking a group of her friends to surfing lessons last week - thus the cake. I'd love to see how far I can take cake decorating. I only found this site tonight, and have been on it for a couple of hours already soaking everything up. What a great resource!

First fondant cake in 2009.

Latest fondant cake made in the summer of 2012.

I made this cake for my sister-in-law's birthday. She just received her mission call, so I thought she would really like this cake. It's decorated in homemade fondant, and everything is edible.

This is a fun thread! It's fun to see how we've all progressed.

What a great thread! This was my first cake ever. It was 4 months ago.

My first cake with fondant and decorations. Made this for my sisters baby shower. It was a chocolate raspberry truffle cake. It was absolutely delicious!

Here is my latest one this last weekend.
