Sugar Cookies (No Chill)

I found this recipe from a google search and its perfect!! I love sugar cookies from scratch but hate to wait for them to be chilled for hours. This recipe needs NO REFRIDGERATING!!

Sugar Cookies (No Chill)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add baking powder and flour one cup at a time, mixing after each addition. Dough will be stiff. Do not chill dough. Divide dough in half. Roll each half about 1/8 inch thick. Dip cutters into flour before each use. Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheet on middle rack of oven for 8-12 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned
  2. This is a nice sugar cookie which doesn’t require that you chill the dough before you roll it out. I recommend you roll it out between two sheets of waxed paper to prevent sticking

This is the same recipe I use. I got it from the Flour Pot cookie book. They hold their shape very well. Great for cookie cutters. However, I add 1T vanilla because I like to taste the vanilla through the fondant or RI. Definitely a go to recipe...

I made them today and they are delicious they keep there shape for cookie cutters. The best thing is that you dont have to refrigerate the dough and this helps baking quicker. DefinItely a favorite. :-)

Very disappointing. Tasteless! After baking four cookies to taste the finished product, I added another stick of butter, a cup of sugar, and two more teaspoons of vanilla. Better!
