Iced in buttercream with a fondant book back. The fondant was stenciled using petal dusts. The Pooh picture was traced onto a frosting sheet and then colored in using petal dusts and food pens. I used a rubber stamp on wafer paper for the butterflies.
Baby Book For A Girl
The booties, bow, picture frame, and 'baby' are made of 50/50 paste. I used Jem cutters for the booties. The picture was traced onto a frosting sheet, colored in using petal dusts and then backed with a fresh sheet of white fondant.
Over 30 (?) Is Old?
This was requested for a guy turning 30....unbelievable that someone thinks 30 is 'over the hill' LOL! The little man and buzzards are made of sugarpaste, tombstones are chocolate from a mold and the #30 is a candle.
Iced in buttercream with a sugarpaste strap/closure. The logo was 'painted' on with a mixture of melted cocoa butter and petal dust.
This cake has an internal support structure using a wooden dowel attached by a screw to the baseboard and another piece of wood at the top of the dowel to support the head. I learned this technique from Roland Winbeckler's book (can be found on his site). The bill is made of styrofoam and covered with fondant but the rest of the cake is iced in buttercream.
Chocolate Transfer. 10-inch round, buttercream. Lavender hearts are tinted white chocolate.
Pg-13 Baby Shower
This goes wit the stork cake. Daddy was given a shower at his work (a police officer). It says. "Congratulations on the successful swim!" It has sperm swimming around. Those are also supposed to be little sperm on the border. The guy that ordered this asked for a baby shower cake but something "manly." I had seen a version of this on another site over a year ago and wanted to do it.
Buttercream glazing technique- I baked and decorated in 4 hours- I accepted a last minute order.
Chocolate Transfer Sponge Bob
This is my first chocolate transfer.. Thanks to Cali4dawn (Dawn) she tough me how to do this last year and I just finally got around to using it .
We are celebrating everything today. All of our birthday's, Easter, St. patty's day, the whole she-bang. I got Josh started with this by icing it and doing the outline. He did the rest. This is not his first cake, maybe 3rd or 4th. He just turned 13 in February.
