Being self-taught and still learning, hence my addiction to Cake Central , I'm not sure I do these properly. I first outline the design in the color that will surround the thinned icing. After that dries, I fill in the areas with thinned royal icing. I outline with black the next day. I learned a very hard lesson when I outlined in black first and the color bled overnight. Ugly, but still tasty. I had to redo 40 of them.

Wow, these are great! I just posted some very similar to this. I'm still working on my snails and ladybugs. I'm also self taught. Amazing, we are very much alike. Great job.

Such nice work and fun colors!! I have experimented with frosted cookies and someitmes like to sprinkle sugar over wet icing, lookes like glitter, not that these need any changes!! they are fantastic, just an idea if your just starting out. New here myself and loving all the positive feedback. everyone here is so gracious

Sorry, I hit enter before I finished. Wanted to say welcome to your new addiction and look forward to seeing more of your cookies.

Can I ask what occasion these were requested for? I'm going to pray from now on that someone has this same "occasion" and I'll try to attempt them. I'm sure mine won't be near the perfection of yours though. Love 'em!

My daughter teaches 5th grade and has numerous real insect specimans in her classroom. These were to welcome her new students and parents at "Meet and Greet. Friendly, edible bugs!

Sorry, I haven't gotten used to describing things properly. Yes, everything is royal icing colored with Wilton food colors.
