Doll Cake
Doll cake made with the Wonder Mold and covered with fondant. Bottom cake is an 11" x 3" yellow cake with raspberry filling iced with buttercream. All buttercream flowers/leaves decorations. Fondant detail work. All I was told was the little girl loved purple, was going to be "8" and was very 'prissy'.

Stunning! Any tricks on how to get the skirt to flow so evenly? Do you use stencils (I hope) 'cause I would be too jealous if you free hand!

 I used the FMM brand of lettering "tappits" (like cutouts) and fondant for the lettering. As far as the skirt, I followed the Wilton instructions using the fondant underneath building up for the "pleats".

To add to all the comments, your cake is absolutely perfect
You indicated the bottom is iced with buttercream, it looks so smooth, what technique did you use?
Oh this is the most beautiful doll cake I've ever seen. Imade one for my granddaughter's b-day a few years ago and have wanted to do another ever since. Yours wil be my example for the next. It's just so beautiful and beautifully done.
Thank you!!!
Wow one of my favs, now my daughter wants one of these, lol.
Thanks again for the compliments!!
Thanks cowgirl! I use Viva paper towels for smoothing buttercream.
Absolutely Beautiful! :)
Thanks for your compliments!!
very pretty, I've always wanted to make a doll cake. Many years ago I went to the local bakery to see if they would make one for my daughter's b. day. In a scoffed tone with attitude I was told they don't have time for something like that. 15 years later living in the same town, we still don't have a bakery than can make cakes the way you'd like.
Very beautiful cake!
Breath taking!!! I wouldn't be able to cut it. Great Job!!!
Thank you!!! I used a Wilton doll pick for this one.
Beautiful! I've never seen a doll cake done better. Did you use a full doll or the wilton doll pick? Your workmanship is excellent.
Thank You!! The little board under the doll is covered with the purple fondant I used for the bodice of the dress. The bottom cake board (1/2" foamboard) is covered with some scrapbooking paper covered with clear matte finish contact paper.
I bet that "prissy" little 8 yr old was in hog heaven!!! Beautiful!!! May I ask what you covered your board in? The whole thing is so beautiful!
