"the Storm"
This is my contribution to the I Guerrieri Collaboration to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. She is a portrait of a beautiful lady who just completed her third set of treatments for cancer. As of April of last year, she was pronounced cancer free. My sculpture is made of Rice Krispy Treats and modeling chocolate, fondant, gum paste, wafer paper, sugar pearls and edible colors.

Gorgeous
Thank you, Lyndall!
Sandra- are you KIDDING ME with this? How?!? Who would DARE slice into that? Did this take all week? Her eyes have life in them... I’m totally flabbergasted. Do you take pictures as you go? I have so many questions...how did you learn how to do that? I feel like your talents have elements that can’t be learned-you just seem like a true artist. I am beyond impressed.
WOW WOW WOW I'm speechless. You're truly an artist
This sculpture is so beautiful! I love the details around the mouth, so realistic. I love her smile and the way her hand is touching her necklace. My favorite of all you have done.
Wow. amazing. This sculpture is just as beautiful as the woman herself
Oh wow! This is stunningly beautiful! I am amazed at your talent and skills.
How beautiful, such detail.
Beautiful! You are exactly the kind of artist I aspire to
MerMadeBakedGoods, thank you so much for your kind words. I was fortunate to have been born with some ability to create art and have been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil. Although I've been drawing and painting all of my life, my chocolate work is my first venture into sculpting. Wow, I like it!
I do not have a lot of progress pictures of this particular piece, but I have many, many of Cleopatra and will be happy to help or answer any questions that I can.
Thank you for the kind compliment, Pucci Cakes!
Thank you so much, rdevon! It was an honor to be able to create this piece for someone who is truly a warrior. Her family presented the piece to her last Easter, right after she received the "cancer free" verdict for the third time. I was told that she cried when she received it.
This was my first time trying a hand...they are hard!
Thank you so much, littlejewel! I am happy to hear that you think so. It is hard for me to judge my work and I really wanted to do her justice.
Thank you for your kind words, Cher2309b! I learn a lot with each piece that I do.
mahtc2016, thank you for the kind compliment!
Thank you kindly, KitchenSix! I learn a ton with every piece that I do. I am happy to help in any way that I can.
Once again Sandra, I can't stop to praise your wonderful talent...May God blees your hands!
Wow! This is incredible! Can I share this? Or, do you have this on Facebook where I might find it and share? This is gorgeous!
Thank you so much, sweet Regina! Hugs!
Thank you so much for your kind words, cakemantis! I am honored for you to share. My FaceBook is under Sandra Griggs Smiley, but it is not a dedicated cake page. I am attaching the link for the picture above.
